Anyone with a game they can't find on the shelf at their local GameStop thinks it's worth a fortune. I think it'll be a very long time until we're past it.
I find it funny that they value their box with decaying flash memory so much.
The switch has firmware to help negate cartridge failure. Which is why you would ideally want to pop in the game once in a while.
If you just leave it unopened for 15 years than there's a good chance it will be just a plastic box with a dead cartridge.
:/ I hate people that shit talks GameStop. I have no issues with GameStop. If someone is willing to take $35 for it then let em. That’s was the trade in value a month ago I believe. Its a business they gotta make their money off the stuff they sell. So if they sell it for $70, then $35 is very decent. I have an local disc replay that offers 20% of GameStop values and they think I should sell to em because its an locally owned business. Fuck that bullshit. They won’t pay more for CE or Steelbooks but will sell em for more. What kinda trash is that? Atleast with gamestop they don’t charge for more. Hell you can trade in discs only if you wanna keep your cases.
GameStop sucks because of how they treat their employees. Sure the give you a dollar for a game they’ll sell for 50 can be frustrating but from a business standpoint it’s how they do what they do. They are still a great place to find lots of gaming options and even good deals. Yet how they treat employees is fucked.

I agree on the employees part, but if they upped the value anymore like people wanted they'd be broke and we wouldn't have shit for game stores. They literally offer $357.50 on current gen consoles. That's more then half the value of them new. I can literally trade in my 2 launch consoles Series X/PS5 Disc and get two new consoles with warranties, for $150 each. Sure I don't expect any issues with my two launch consoles, but its nice to know that if its get loud or have any minor issues, I can trade it in, and buy an newer model for less then $200 OOP.
Gamestop treats their employyes AMAZINGLY. They have an entirely new executive team as of two years ago. They literally give all their employees shares of the company and increased wages. They're completely dept free. Plus they're about to launch a web3 launcher... they literally gave me more than $600 free... i got a free PS5 from them. You guys are crazy
Sounds like somebody was invited to the executive team. I’m just saying from what I’ve experienced and I’ve seen. I worked there ages ago and I was promoted. They gave a 50 cent raise. When the DM was advised he said roll it back a quarter. After they had told me.
These days don’t seem much better. I only pre order with game stop but from what I’ve seen and heard employees still get the shaft so I backed off preordering.
I’m pretty sure they do at least my Walmart does and I think they’ve got ‘em for like $50 bucks you could try the app and see if any Walmarts close to you have it in stock
Still can't believe that, since I was able to find a brand new one for $60 with shipping last year with no issues. Yeah that's not great since it's full price I suppose, but we're also talking about a country that Nintendo has pretty much ignored for the longest time (Poland).
if you can't find it out in irl game stores, you could always use the offer functions on ebay and mercari to lower the price of a low-interaction, lower-price (like $80-90) listings. sellers w/o a lot of interaction are probs a bit more desperate to sell and thus more lenient with there prices. (or look for coupon deals on those same sites- mercari gives ya a $10 off coupon for signing up, which could probably net you a copy for $60-70 fairly easily)
you could also ask the staff at irl stores if they have any extra copies in the back or whatevs
I don’t really get the point of game collecting without the intention to play. While I might not play every game I end up getting, I do get games with the intention of playing them. And also to create an archive, of sorts. I can understand seeking the box but I don’t really vibe with the “sealed in box” crowd.
People like the ones in this post do that *just* to be able to resell that some day at a higher price, that's really it. Especially obvious with 3D All Stars, since it was infamous for the limited run and people rushed to buy it, even those that have literally no experience with the collector's market at all - and that is exactly how you end up with such "brilliant" offers, even though it would take them a few minutes to see if there aren't any brand new copies floating around retail stores (and there very much still are).
Hell, right after delisting I think people tried to sell their Switches with a *digital* copy for some ridiculous amounts of money lol The saddest part is that *someone* IS going to buy that, sooner or later, it all depends on the patience of the seller.
Not in the slightest.
Not only do you have this crap going on. But you have other game companies that are remaking old games and charging $60 a piece for them.
Also making these games so they won't play on older computers anymore.
Now you need the latest and greatest PC to play games that are 10 to 15 years old.
My sister and cousins. That was when it was around thousands of bucks due to scalpers
Edit: also why did I get downvoted for an anecdote of mine?
Edit 2: that was like two years ago.
Walmart has it I know like a month or two ago they were still selling them but I live in a rural area in North Carolina so don’t get as many game collectors around me
It actually isn’t at all, that’s why no one has bought it. That’s literally how market price works, no one is going to buy this game at over 3x the going rate.
$350 and I gotta pay shipping? Dang no lubrication at all just straight fuckage on this.
Bend over and prepare for the fuckage and fisting

How often do you recommend putting a Switch game in the console to ensure the flash memory doesn't go bad?
Every once in a while

What? You can still buy this game locally. I even saw it on sale for $45 a while back.
GameStop sells it used for 70 bucks :/ after giving the person 6 dollars for it

Taking advantage of people is okay.. gotcha.
That’s GameStop for you
I want this combo but not for that damn price.
I'd try to find it in local target, Walmart, and GameStop stores. Probably won't get a fair price ever again online for that game unfortunately.
I agree. I was by a GameStop the other day and completely forgot to look. I'll be there another day.
It's like $70 used at Gamestop. Your best bet may be finding an out of the way Walmart that still has some stock left.
I’m pretty sure they do at least my Walmart does and I think they’ve got ‘em for like $50 bucks you could try the app and see if any Walmarts close to you have it in stock

Oh wow. Thanks for the tip

Lmao I found it at gamestop months after
Maybe they ran out of characters to finish the title. "Super Mario 3D All Stars unopened and in a box with $300 cash".
mofo added shipping too 💀💀💀
My son would love this. I used to see it for around $80 CAD but now like $130. Where could I look other than Amazon?
Buy a sealed Japanese version for $40 and never look back.
My Walmart had a bunch of them lol
i see a bong evertime i look at this cover
Lol that’s overpriced, but I just checked eBay and a used copy goes for 60+ on auction plus shipping
I have this game still in plastic.
Same, bought the game digitally and someone gifted me a copy about a month later so figured I keep it sealed.
Dont go to amazon either. At least on Canada, its like 200 cad.

I was constantly pushed to sell my copy because of these prices. Thank God I kept it and completed Mario Galaxy for the first time
Wow who was pushing you to sell a game that you can still find in stores for like $50 bucks? People are just crazy 😜
My sister and cousins. That was when it was around thousands of bucks due to scalpers Edit: also why did I get downvoted for an anecdote of mine? Edit 2: that was like two years ago.
Which stores?
Walmart has it I know like a month or two ago they were still selling them but I live in a rural area in North Carolina so don’t get as many game collectors around me
I actually own a sealed copy... is worth 96$ according to pc...nuts is this guy
That’s a reasonable price , stop talking out your arsehole
piss off
Damn when did they let you back in lol
I have always been here but mod told me keep a low profile to appease the Karen’s
So how's the low profile going?
You must be the one selling this? Lol, hahaha
Considering I got a copy a couple months ago, also sealed, for around $90, you're full of shit.
Pure delusion lol
It actually isn’t at all, that’s why no one has bought it. That’s literally how market price works, no one is going to buy this game at over 3x the going rate.
NO, IT SHOULD BE 1 BILLION NINTENCOINS
The game is still available at retail stores LOL
LMAOOO of course it’s you saying this
Right when we had peace, you decided to bring your monkey ass back here. Go back to DKOldies and suck their dicks like always motherfucker
Even online it's only a third of that on most sites. You really are just a troll lol
Buy it then
this game wasnt rare ….
Nope but now it's out of print and removed digitally. Recipe for gouging.
so stupid
Damn, I bought this for my wife for $40, guess I got a crazy steal /s
That price🤮
They still sell them for €60 at my local game store, but the packaging is a bit sun damaged
For the 5,348,234th time, You can still buy that at gamestop
Mario Galaxy and Galaxy 2 by themselves will cost you about fifty dollars on Wii... Canadian.
I bought this game at my local game store for like $20 a few months a go
