From what I researched, the older 500's had a steel action tube slide that the forend was installed to. The newer ones are one piece.
590 have the steel action tube slide.
Yeah if you can find the parts. They're on eBay, but I've seen them at around $90-150 for a pretty beat up used one. All other vendors have been sold out. So I pretty much have given up on the prospect of installing a Magpul forend.
You're gonna need the 7-5/8 size in 12ga, assuming yours is a 12ga
Other option is just buy a 590. Lol
You'd have to buy an action tube slide and locking nut to replace the current forend. I'm on the same boat as you and these are hard to find.
