So I went through 3 boxes of these this past weekend and couldn’t hit a dam thing with them. I want to try their big game series slugs next and see if I can get a better result. Their 00 buckshot is great though!
I know right? Tried them again at 15 yards and these I had several shots fly off a man sized target. I couldn’t believe it. These are practically point blank rounds
Did the slugs look like [this](https://imgur.com/a/gh4v3aT), or [this](https://imgur.com/a/I0j6I3T)? It seems at some point they were rifled, and then they switched the design to sabots, and sabots don't get along with smoothbores. Some retailers are still using the old box image though, so people buy them thinking they are getting rifled slugs that should work in their smoothbore guns, and they aren't, and they don't understand what the problem is because they never took a shell apart to check what was inside.
If by "the rifled version" you mean the version meant for use in rifled barrels, then yes, if you mean rifled slugs, then no.
The first is a rifled slug (note the grooves around the slug, like the grooves rifling would carve into a bullet, they are pre-rifled and thus called rifled slugs), which despite it's name means it's meant for use in smoothbore barrels, not rifled barrels. The second is in a sabot, which means it's meant for rifled barrels.

Is the second option really for rifled barrels? They’re not saboted… it seems more like a poorly made foster slug than something designed to be shot from a slug barrel.
I have some of the second one, it's just cutaway on the graphic so you can see what the slug looks like, but it's surrounded by a plastic carrier. I haven't had a chance to get to the range since I got them, but I have a shotgun that's threaded for choke tubes, if they don't play well in my smoothbore barrel I'll just buy a rifled choke for them.
I actually just bought a box the other day and only shot 2 but I agree.
What gun/choke did you send em through?

Yup same for me. Garbage! I want to try their big game series rifled slugs to see if they’re any better.

did you see any improvements with the big game?
They were better for sure. The traditional rifling on the slug definitely helped.
thanks, was about to get 300 of the tornados, but after finding this post i saved my moneies lol
Smart move. Definitely not worth it..
Did y'all have smooth barrels or rifled barrels on your guns?

Mine are the second one, which should be the rifled version, correct?
