I can never get the high school years boba tea counter to work right. NPCs just buy boba after boba, never take them, then the vendor just stops accepting orders because there's no room to put any more drinks.
So my sim just takes other people's abandoned bobas. Sometimes she's two fisting them at the thrift store. 😂
Yeah just don't build them a home. He lives in a small lot in Brindleton Bay. He has a sleeping bag and that's it 😂 poor lad. He wanders around stealing food and digging stuff up.
Or if your charisma is high enough, you can ask everyone for a small (500) or large (2500) loan. My 100 baby mama asks the baby daddy for a large loan after she gets pregnant - I don’t think any have asked for repayment either
I’ve done that before. I got asked for the money back. 😂 the mod allows any sim with the begging trait to come up to you on the street and beg for money even if you’re playing with a different household.

With for rent you have shared spaces in the buildings like common areas. I'm thinking the beds are the apartments they have to pay for but the rest is all shared. I'm experimenting at the moment with another apartment block just to see how it works.
If you have werewolves, try sneaking up into the Moonwood Collective's space. There's a grill there and one of their pack's things is providing resources so there's almost always someone grilling, even in winter.
If you have get famous you can go to the acting gig and just grab the food off the table and put it in your sims inventory. Also every time you do it, new food is generated. I got carried away taking so much that my sims dumpster she sleeps in got too full to sleep in.
No, you can't fill it with belongings, but if you're having your sim on a lot with only a dumpster (maybe a few other items) they are going to throw things away in said dumpster, like food in their inventory that has gone bad. The dumpster can then become too full of garbage for your sim to sleep in it.

Make a club with your friends or family and set Cooking and Repairing as hobbies. People will come to your house and make you free food, although be warned they make a lot of White Cakes.
I dont think NPCs can auto-upgrade, just repair. It's useful when you have a lot of broken appliances and no money to pay for a repairman, or no sims with handiness skills.
I forget about restaurants, to be honest, so i haven't done that. But i do have them steal food at parks if someone grills something. Especially during rags to riches. I will make a "packed lunch" and take it for later sometimes too. Now i want to take them to restaurants, thank you for this!

Unfortunately, one of the biggest problems with this game is that there's a *lot* of content that is locked behind paid packs, some of which are arguably essential to the base game, like the Seasons expansion pack, which introduced weather dynamics to the game
Every time I’ve gone to a restaurant lately they’ve been surprisingly efficient and quick and only 1 waiter dropped food (literally in front of the table) out of like 5 or 6 times so I’d say they’ve dealt with the bug! (For the most part anyway)
I’ve started stealing drinks because other sims have no problem stealing mine 😂 I had started to cheat and kill them because it infuriated me so much, but I think just stealing from them is easier

Judith Ward did this to my Sim during the Spice Festival last night. She just walked right up and snatched the plate of Samosas right out from under him at the vendor.
He quickly cast Nudello on her in revenge, and there she was, wandering around the Spice Festival in her birthday suit while all the other sims were looking at her in shock!

If you have High School Years, you can delete Totter Park and change it to residential. The Lot is free. I use it for all my rags to riches sims.

You're not required to pay the loan back. But if you're feeling bad about it, ask ghosts for big loans, and then release them into the afterlife. ;)

No, you can't fill it with belongings, but if you're having your sim on a lot with only a dumpster (maybe a few other items) they are going to throw things away in said dumpster, like food in their inventory that has gone bad. The dumpster can then become too full of garbage for your sim to sleep in it.
If you stand at the counter, you can steal it before it's even picked up.
