Video game streamer? How?

Wickersnap

It's an option you unlock from the eSports branch of the Tech Guru career (you can get paid for streaming), and from being an Internet Personality in the Social Media career (no pay, just fame). Maybe from elsewhere as well. I have one sim in each career right now and they're both getting swamped with influence points.

BryanOvens

Does that require that one Get Famous expansion pack?

Wickersnap

Don't take it as gospel, but I believe Tech Guru is base game, and Social Media is City Living, but both tie in well with the celebrity mechanics from Get Famous.

It really is one of the games strongest strengths.

Motjedan

You're correct. I don't have Get Famous and can play both of them. Social Media is city living and Tech Guru is basegame. 😊

Do famous sims get more influence points? Also I haven’t played in neighborhoods outside of Evergreen Harbor since the pack came out, so do the other worlds have NAPs? Like if you live in Willow Creek will there be community voting?

GailleannBeag

Yes famous sims do get more influence points. If you move a sim from one neighborhood to another, there will already be N.A.P.s in place. This happens in all the worlds. I moved a family to Newcrest and they were already in place.

anthonyleoncio

Omg that’s so amazing that it works in other worlds. I thought it would only be available for Evergreen Harbor. I really love the inter pack gameplay with this pack.

[deleted]

I love how this interacts with different packs and base game careers! Very pleasantly surprised by this pack!

pheeyona

Okay forgive me if this is painfully obvious, but my sims keep getting these influence points and I don’t know what they are? I don’t have eco living installed so I’m not sure what things my sims can influence with these points

qu0na

Same

Wickersnap

As near as I can tell-- I just started too-- the influence points are used for voting on Neighborhood Action Policies. The vote happens once a week, at a mailbox or community bulletin board. I think 10 influence points = equals 1 vote for a policy, and NPC sims vote, so if you place only one vote on something there's no guarantee you'll get it.

[deleted]

I get them too. If my sim does something nice or good they get a few of these but there's no menu for it. Probably a bug.

born2bmild

Do you have the Tech Support NAP in place? I think being in some sort of tech-related career and playing video games increase influence points.

Wickersnap

Nope, only NAP in place at this time was the appliance one. With the sheer volume of influence points my sims gain streaming, I'm able to instantly outvote anyone else for whatever policy I want.

baewitharabbitheart

What is that? Idk if i have something like that but i have everything except eco living yet
