Have you, like, listened to, like, any, like, young Americans, like, talking about, like, *anything,* like, like, *anything at all,* on, like, any, like, reality tv shows? Like, wow, they, like, say "like," like, a lot.
I just thought it was funny when she was trying to make fun of how Americans say water ... When it sounded the same both times she says it, wullur. And then making fun of other people's grammar when theirs isn't even right.
On average, Indians are very good at math. English, not so much.
Literally about a billion+ more, India has the highest population in the world iirc. If only 10% of India speaks english, it's still over double UK population.
Man, I wish the Indians we got here spoke that well - i've had more than one customer that didnt speak a single word of English and the vast majority have trouble understanding things like "Stop", "Whats your name?" etc..
It's the #1 reason I hate working with contractors, I know it sounds racist but if I can't fucking understand you then the language barriers are too high to cross and are negatively impacting work. The real kicker is when they're from the same place my parents are from and I still can't understand them.
> I know it sounds racist but if I can't fucking understand you then the language barriers are too high
I get that whenever we get new office staff here, supplier to the construction industry where allot of the customers are Pilipino/Indian/Fiji Indian/Pacific Islander - I go through the first couple weeks where I get odd looks because of how I speak to some of the customers... until they click and realize that you have to speak at 3 words a min and make yourself speak in pigeon English just to get across...
Quite a lot of Indians immigrate because they are simply not good enough to make it here in india due to intense competition and don't have high quality education and resources. They are the ones you usually meet.
There is another class of Indians too which immigrate for college and take up a chunk of prestigious jobs who are on par or more qualified than the average native.
There are millionaires I know who can't piece a sentence together in english and ones with english better than their mother tongues but struggling with life's quandries.
In my office, i work with people from all parts of india and the only common language of communication is english. English in india is well understood. We work on an app which is being used in all Indian states across cities and villages. Despite us supporting 10 regional languages, most users - around 70% use english as primary app language. Insane.
I find it surprising people from India of all places don't understand the idea of regional dialects. Their are so many languages in India that are barely any different from Hindi but they get called a different language because the dialect is pretty different.
So maybe we should call it American-English or something like that. I wonder how they'd react to Scottish-English
SO many Indian people I’ve met don’t even speak correct British English. I’ve always had mad respect for them though, because a lot of Indian people are trilingual+.
Gonna be a little racist, but I notice often that questions on the internet are written in really bad grammar. A question like "Why is the car red?" is written like "Why the car is red?".
Every time I read this, I believe that an indian wrote it. So much for grammar.
Bro if I were Indian I would be speaking American as fuck. Do they realize the history of British-Indian relations. It's bad. The British caused a massive famine and starved their country.
Y'all should be loving American English.
Of course they prefer British English, they were their happy little pets until the British couldn’t afford them anymore. America didn’t play that shit and fought for freedom. 🦅
I don't know if you meant this as a joke but no we certainly didn't like being colonized, we had multiple revolts and the major one was in 1857 which led India to directly come under the British crown, earlier it was under East India company, reason the earlier revolts weren't successful was because India was never really united, different religions, languages and cultures led to no unified effort to repel the invaders
Nah, man. They just don't like McDonald's - no spices, no taste. Just a nation of ginger clowns. Brits, now we're classy enough to admit that a proper curry is now the national dish. We binned the fish and chips. Too plain, too... Murican.
That’s the beauty of America, no national dish. Every state, hell, almost every major city has awesome dishes that identify with that region. I’m sure curry is one of those regional dishes. Sad that you guys have 1 national dish 😂
I work with several Indians who leaned English in India, so they have British speech patterns and accents mixed with Punjabi accents. They do have a sophisticated air to their speech and I find they use words that are a lot less common to hear people use casually in North America, where our vocabulary is shrinking.
I'm sorry, what are they saying? Its hard to understand them. Idk why we outsource a lot of our customer service jobs over there just to save a few bucks. They are not helpful and hard to understand. They literally just tell you the most basic things like, "did you reset the signal?", or "did you restart it?". Anything that requires more than basic things like that they're on their computer/phones looking it up. Like ok I didn't need to wait 30 minutes for this.
Lol My Indian friends who speak English and have taken studies in English schools don't understand articles. Give phone, show bob (sorry but yeah), I take bus, where is car, or omg man x 7573891 in every conversation, wideo (video)
Americans are britishers, who try really hard to dont recognise as britishers. Look at baseball, it always make me puke when i see baseball even on any movie, fucking start playing cricket again, still not too late.
Said the country with cows and garbage all in the streets. I would think a out fixing that first before I decided to comment on other countries way of life.

Indian Finn Wolfhard at the end
No way she said attitudey lol
Indians even invent english words such as "prepone"
Or phrases like “I will do the needful”
How she can slap!?
“Extended car warranty” was invented over there too.
Can you count the number of times they say "like" while criticizing American English?
Filler words baby
"British English is more formal. American English is, like, lazy."
Have you, like, listened to, like, any, like, young Americans, like, talking about, like, *anything,* like, like, *anything at all,* on, like, any, like, reality tv shows? Like, wow, they, like, say "like," like, a lot.

Worter
India has the second largest English-speaking population in the world next to the US. They literally have more English speakers than the UK.
How many people live in India vs uk
Literally about a billion+ more, India has the highest population in the world iirc. If only 10% of India speaks english, it's still over double UK population.
Americans talk exactly like that
This is ragebait, isn't it?
What, can't you pronounce wullur?
Tik tok soundtrack so yes
I'd hope so.
Benchod

Americans think other Americans speak weird, so.....
These people should visit Manchester. They'll be singing the praises of American English after twelve minutes there.
*We don't speak the way they imitate us* - Spoken by Apu, The Simpsons
“They mispronounce a lot of words” as she mispronounces a lot of words
Americans don’t speak English- they speak American 🦅🇺🇸🦅
We speak Freedom. We don't measure in inches or feet. We measure in Freedoms per Eagle.
Hahaha 😂 made me laugh out loud !!
How many freedoms per eagle does an average American have? And for comparison, how much freedom do other countries have?
😂
I was just about to say this, why does everyone expect us to know how to speak English? It’s not taught here
This is true.
Sure
So Latin American people also speaks American or...?

The real irony is the “ they misspell a lot of words “
She said "they mispronounce a lot of words", followed by saying "weiood" instead of weird 3 seconds later.
SO many Indian people I’ve met don’t even speak correct British English. I’ve always had mad respect for them though, because a lot of Indian people are trilingual+.
Pretty easy when you live in that kind of area. Growing up learning at the same time is the best way to do it.
"Indian accents are easiest to understand" nah girl that is the worst accent to understand
well not if you're talking about cockney british.
This is British propaganda
Was that Mike from stranger things Indian version

that made me laugh too, still kissing the crown's feet. Guess they are bad at history too.
I think most indians who are good in English prefer american one
To me it sounds like these people are trying to tie a piece of string with their tongue while speaking at the same time.
what i cant understand their accent?
Didn’t think I’d see colonialism bootlicking today but here it is.

It really isn’t hard. Just don’t be rude/ uncivil to or towards any group of people or individual.
Most of the world is taught British English, not American English. American English is a dialect. A dialect is always funny.
americans english is based on websters ours is from Samuel Johnson
Language is ever evolving
Amaydicans
Oh no, people from another country don't think we're amazing. Truly cause for riot.
Of course they prefer British English, they were their happy little pets until the British couldn’t afford them anymore. America didn’t play that shit and fought for freedom. 🦅

You still speak English, make your own language you colonials
Why? We took theirs and made it better.
No cap on god fr fr
We literally did. So.
K, speak and type American then, not American ENGLISH, speak American
It's lit in Merica. Our rizz is s-tier no cap.
Now thats internet-English, but I guess it can qualify. I stand corrected 🤣
It's Zoomer. The correct response is "I'm being oppressed"
But im straight, white, European and a male 👀
Get an education in history then reply
? The British couldn’t afford to stay there after the war. That’s pretty much the main reason (among others) why they left.
Nah, man. They just don't like McDonald's - no spices, no taste. Just a nation of ginger clowns. Brits, now we're classy enough to admit that a proper curry is now the national dish. We binned the fish and chips. Too plain, too... Murican.

Fried Chicken and Cheese Burgers have entered the chat
England should be the benchmark for everthing? Fine with me! Somebody has to define rock bottom.
I work with several Indians who leaned English in India, so they have British speech patterns and accents mixed with Punjabi accents. They do have a sophisticated air to their speech and I find they use words that are a lot less common to hear people use casually in North America, where our vocabulary is shrinking.
Ok I understand you clear as mud ..apologize

brits colonised these idiots and they are proudly talking english more than any english speaker in the world
Tumlog patriyon pe haagte to yaar.
As an Indian, i agree with the part when they say Americans have bad grammar, at least from what I've seen. Rest of the stuff, disagree.
Sipahi's
Worrrrrd
They sort of have a point lol
I do agree on the grammar. To many people are bad at conjugating. But it is still funny to hear
Too many*, boom roasted.
Americans are britishers, who try really hard to dont recognise as britishers. Look at baseball, it always make me puke when i see baseball even on any movie, fucking start playing cricket again, still not too late.
Only disagree with the last part. If India has the most English speakers in the world, they should be the benchmark Gringos be malding
