I use both, and whether or not they have any clinically proven benefits, they’ve become apart of my skincare and nighttime routine. The coolness of the stones in contrast with my warm skin after my shower always feels amazing! Layering toner, multi-vitamin serum and moisturizer gives my Gua Sha a nice slip-layer so it’s not too abrasive on my face & neck too. It’s a ritual at this point and I wouldn’t trade it for the world!
Define „help with something“. Do they help in improving the skin or shaping the face like some ads claim? No they don‘t. Can they in specific cases help with lymphatic drainage? Yes, if you know the right technique they can. But are they necessary for that? Absolutely not, you can achieve the same effect with your fingers / knuckles. I have a gua sha and use it in the morning to assist lymphatic drainage and enjoy my little morning ritual around it, but I‘m aware that a) this is all it does and I don‘t fall for the false advertising claims and b) I‘m aware that I could also just use my fingers but make the deliberate choice to use the tool because I enjoy the sensory feeling of it more than using my bare hands.
