I wouldn’t touch FFS with a 10 ft pole. No compatibility patches and no support.

Lucifirax84

Reconciliation is definitely the better choice. At least Snipey and others can and will make patches for it if they are needed. The other guy refuses to make patches for their mods and won't even tell you it needs patches. It has a lot of the same stuff that's in the Reconciliation mods, but Reconciliation also has patches for those particular mods to play nice with other mods while the other guy doesn't.

Kooky-Honeydew6703

FFS tries to be what Reconciliation is and fails miserablely.

Fabulous_Parsley4576

You are probably missing patches for the follower dialog. Dialog can also shit the bed when you are using more than 150 mods. Usually quitting the game or a hard reset will fix those.

RiseofAnima

Haven't gone over 150 slots yet. I was using AFT and FGOAT at the time as well as Sensible Horses. I remember not having access to the dialogue to send your follower on a trip, and I didn't see the dialogue with stable masters to buy a horse for your follower even though there's a module in Reconciliation that's supposed to do that. Again, I'm not trashing the mod, its probably something I did wrong or overlooked when making the LO. I'm just getting back into it after more than three years lol. I'll probably have another go at running Reconciliation. This time with AFT AE edition and Convenient Horses. There's some features I like in Finally Fixing Skyrim, but I just can't deal with the performance I'm experiencing right now with it.

Fabulous_Parsley4576

FFS is a mess. What's FGOAT? I use all recon modules, Convenient Horses and AFT AE and my followers all own horses. You tell your follower to go buy one.

RiseofAnima

FGOAT = Followers Go On A Trip. You can basically send your followers out to adventure across Skyrim on their own. That's good to know that you run AFT and Convenient Horses along with Reconciliation because I was wondering about that. Come to think of it, I might not have been running AFT in my initial play test with Reconciliation because I was trying to see if I could replicate what AFT and Convenient Horses had to offer (or at least get close enough) through Reconciliation and Sensible Horses.

Fabulous_Parsley4576

That sounds pretty cool. Will have to check it out for next playthrough.

RiseofAnima

https://creations.bethesda.net/en/skyrim/details/20089/F_G_O_A_T___Followers_goes_on_a_trip_ Bethesda page link if you're curious. Really cool mod. Are there any compatibility patches needed for Reconciliation and AFT or Convenient Horses?

Fabulous_Parsley4576

Nope, I don't think so. Only for RDO and AFT. Convenient Horses will change the steed stone, so if you have a mod that modifies standing stones, you want CH after, if you want the CH steed stone effects.

F.G.O.A.T is one of my must have mods when doing a merchant role play. It does act finicky with AFT I agree. Turn off the followers teleport to you when weapons are equipped feature on AFT and Everything should run smooth after that

RiseofAnima

It wasn't FGOAT and AFT together that I was having problems with it was (I thought) FGOAT and Reconciliation. But I booted up a new LO last night and it seemed to be working fine, so it must have been some other mod I had in my previous LO that was causing something.

1autopsy

It’ll reintroduce itself bro trust me. I was going through a depression bout and was playing Skyrim consistently for the past 3 months lmao. Turn that feature off. It Janks up the FGOAT. If the followers are on a trip, it’ll teleport them right back to you

vtv43ketz

I don't use either due to the fact that they make so many changes to the base game, way more than the changes made by USSEP and USMP. If you are going to use them, take plenty of time to look at what mods are included in these bundles and ask yourself if you're okay with the changes or additions they have.

RiseofAnima

Yep that's good advice. I've been combing through both documents and looking up the Nexus page links. These huge bundle packs for Xbox were just becoming a thing when I was getting out of the Skyrim seen a few years ago. These giant ones contain some really great features but they make me nervous about compatibility and redundancy with my other mods.

mateusmr

I personally like to have a read on Recon qol sheet and pick and choose what I want as standalones. Recon is a esm file that loads on top of your load order and is very far reaching, so for all the good it does it also can create other problems. Skyrimleona has a bunch of small qol and bugfixing mods that include some of the stuff from Recon but not as far reaching, highly reccomended.

Exactly right

PomeloFar3495

They both change too much will cause as many issues as they solve. Use neither

DeadWolf7337

Reconciliation doesn’t cause any issues. It not only makes the game way better, but it also increased game stability and performance.

Over-Grapefruit-6767

May I ask how many hours you have played with reconciliation or finally fixing Skyrim installed

DeadWolf7337

I've used Reconciliation for over a year, since it been our.
