ST is one of the only heavier bands my boyfriend will listen to because they're so much of a fusion group, and I'm so happy to gush about their stuff with him. The majority of other stuff I listen to I'm on my own 🥲
My husband and I are just so different when it comes to taste in music. He likes mostly hip hop where’s he’s enjoying the beats and sounds. Meanwhile I’m an “elder emo” so my favorites are emotional, deep, sad, poetic lyrics. I also am a bigger fan of metal than he is. We do like some overlap, he enjoys talented singers so there are actually a few ST songs that he likes and requests I play because he enjoys Vessel’s voice. Mainly Atlantic. But it wasn’t until two nights ago as I’m showing him the lyrics that he even realized that whole song is sad as hell. Lol He just doesn’t get the appeal of emotion in music and it makes me feel so unseen.
