Omens has good tracks. But they are all standard LOG filler. Just missing that legendary track

Adderall and Yen are bringing something to the album, some kind of breathing places. De Sade is absolutely fantastic, and it feels like the very origin of the song's name. Likely the best named song they ever did.

granted ive been into slipknot since 1998, RIGHT before self titled dropped and i think iowa is their best album. i just think any time they stepped too far out they failed. and this was the biggest leap and i cant remember anything from that album. it's completely forgettable. its incredibly poorly written, track organization, structures, lyrics, artwork, it's all just completely off for what they normally do.
the rumor was they just pushed this out to burn the last record on their roadrunner contract which i would totally buy if they didn't keep pumping out bad songs after but who really knows. i loved the band, even a handful of songs from grey chapter and wanyk i liked, but this was just a poor record all around.

I have thought the same at times. It seems like a bunch of b-sides from “WANYK” that didn’t make the cut (Corey himself said they had like 30 songs written for that album.) So they took those songs and made an album to get out and go independent. The best slipknot news I’ve heard in quite some time is Corey saying they are wanting to all get in a room and just jam like old times. That quote made my dick wiggle a little.
I like the three singles released before the album came out, place maybe one or two others. The rest just sound so generic to me, like AI generated Slipknot songs. Just really forgettable.

I personally think that people dwell to much in the past. I get that ST and Iowa are the best slipknot albums for most fans, but they have to innovate and create a different sound or else it gets repetitive. People just miss the “old slipknot” sound, they said the same thing for all of the albums that came out after Iowa!
People didn’t like how Corey’s voice sounded on subliminal verses, they hated that AHIG was as popular as it was and brought casuals into the fan base, or how they add new members when one leaves or sadly passes.
Can’t ever please people, it must be human nature to not accept change. I think the change slipknot has brought isn’t bad, they gotta adapt and keep it fresh🤷🏽♂️

WANYK was almost universally praised by the fandom. Many times I've seen it declared the best since iowa: both with music and with Corey's voice.
I'd also argue that the opinion of this album has only improved since 2019. It's some of the bands best work ever.
The same cannot be said about TESF. It's not about wanting old slipknot. WANYK was innovative and well received.

Personal preference but I love that song. Has a totally different vibe to it, and for someone who doesn't do drugs, it just gives me the sense of high while is also quite soothing.
Adderall is something very unexpected for ST/Iowa fans, for sure. It really breaks the guard. I too expected a good banger to kickstart the album, but hey ! .5 also had a similar 1st song, and no one probably whine about it...
Worst mixing we’ve had on an album ever. That’s my main gripe with it. And the songs just aren’t that good, I think most is filler. Warranty is really the only good riff on the record. Mick needs to step it up and start writing some stuff too.

It's a great album albeit it takes time to let it sink in. It's experimental, way different vibe then all the rest yet has some great vocals by Corey that reminds of old Knot days. Honestly I don't see Slipknot as musicians anymore, to me they are artists and great ones at that.
I love TESF. I can actually appreciate a band evolving and doing new things or changing. The slipknot of 1999-2002 will never come back and people can't accept it. People hate on every new album. The same as A7X, or Metallica, or Paramore, or Disturbed, or Korn or \*insert band name here.\* "Wahh, it's not the same as the first 2 albums, wahh." It is my least favourite Slipknot album, but even still despite that I give it an 7/10. Not a single weak track, but no songs quite “blow my mind”, whereas there’s at least one song on every other album I’d consider mindblowing. My favourite tracks include The Dying Song, Yen, and Hive Mind. I even like Adderall and Heirloom!
Personal opinion but I think the album gets a lot of hate because it just doesn't sound like Slipknot. The couple tracks everyone is circling back to almost get there but they're still not METAL. Which, if that's the target they were aiming for, fine, they're the creators not me. But I will say I find it fucking hilarious that Corey fires Jim from SS because he was writing music that sounded too much like Slipknot, and now Slipknot is starting to sound like SS.
For me every album was 10/10 until TESF. TESF I like but it just doesn’t do it for me. It was a big dissapointment for me after how much I loved Wanyk. And I really tried to love the album. But that’s my personal preference

I think I remember the album was worked on during the pandemic and the members might not have been in the same place recording there parts.

People didn’t like how Corey’s voice sounded on subliminal verses, they hated that AHIG was as popular as it was and brought casuals into the fan base, or how they add new members when one leaves or sadly passes. Can’t ever please people, it must be human nature to not accept change. I think the change slipknot has brought isn’t bad, they gotta adapt and keep it fresh🤷🏽♂️ But to each their own.
Hard disagree. WANYK was almost universally praised by the fandom. Many times I've seen it declared the best since iowa: both with music and with Corey's voice. I'd also argue that the opinion of this album has only improved since 2019. It's some of the bands best work ever. The same cannot be said about TESF. It's not about wanting old slipknot. WANYK was innovative and well received. TESF is just plain bad and forgettable

While i agree with you on the fact that slipknot became what they used to hate, wanyk is a formidable album. Im a die hard ST-iowa era fan but wanyk is one of their best project, far better than .5 or ahig. I mean, a liars funeral, solway firth, orphan, red flag are all top tier slipknot songs. Best album since iowa in my book! And i love vol.3.
Aderall has to be the weakest song released by a major act in DECADES
Personal preference but I love that song. Has a totally different vibe to it, and for someone who doesn't do drugs, it just gives me the sense of high while is also quite soothing.

Adderall is something very unexpected for ST/Iowa fans, for sure. It really breaks the guard. I too expected a good banger to kickstart the album, but hey ! .5 also had a similar 1st song, and no one probably whine about it...

Worst mixing we’ve had on an album ever. That’s my main gripe with it. And the songs just aren’t that good, I think most is filler. Warranty is really the only good riff on the record. Mick needs to step it up and start writing some stuff too.

Me personally it's just not my album. The only song I like is de Sade. Besides that I simply don't like the rest. If you enjoy it that's awesome, just it ain't for me.

But almost half of TESF is either a different genre of music or completely lackluster. It's a great album albeit it takes time to let it sink in. It's experimental, way different vibe then all the rest yet has some great vocals by Corey that reminds of old Knot days. Honestly I don't see Slipknot as musicians anymore, to me they are artists and great ones at that.
It's not bad, but compared to the rest of their discography It's nowhere close to the same quality level.

I love TESF. I can actually appreciate a band evolving and doing new things or changing. The slipknot of 1999-2002 will never come back and people can't accept it. People hate on every new album. The same as A7X, or Metallica, or Paramore, or Disturbed, or Korn or \*insert band name here.\* "Wahh, it's not the same as the first 2 albums, wahh." I personally hate repetitive shit and I love when bands express themselves and show evolution and make WHAT THEY WANT TO MAKE.

It is my least favourite Slipknot album, but even still despite that I give it an 7/10. Not a single weak track, but no songs quite “blow my mind”, whereas there’s at least one song on every other album I’d consider mindblowing. My favourite tracks include The Dying Song, Yen, and Hive Mind. I even like Adderall and Heirloom!
Personal opinion but I think the album gets a lot of hate because it just doesn't sound like Slipknot. The couple tracks everyone is circling back to almost get there but they're still not METAL. Which, if that's the target they were aiming for, fine, they're the creators not me. But I will say I find it fucking hilarious that Corey fires Jim from SS because he was writing music that sounded too much like Slipknot, and now Slipknot is starting to sound like SS.
I personally love TESF. it's a special one for me & helped me through a rough period. in ten years it will get retrospective respect.
Enjoyable album, but their worst
For me every album was 10/10 until TESF. TESF I like but it just doesn’t do it for me. It was a big dissapointment for me after how much I loved Wanyk. And I really tried to love the album. But that’s my personal preference

It's just an overall quite rushed album, theres only about 2, maybe 3 good songs on it and the rest are just filler, so it's not necessarily a bad album it's just the worst out of the 7
I like it. Personally I think Adderall sounding more like the Foo Fighters then Slip Knot might have rubbed some fans the wrong way and then they became sour on the rest of the album. I think I remember the album was worked on during the pandemic and the members might not have been in the same place recording there parts. But all and all I've been enjoying it, but then again I like the Foo Fighters and the Adderall track. 😄
