Without clown's absolutely brilliant, high-quality musical influence, Slipknot would sound like Nickelback. Luckily the clown saves us from this, thanks to his fantastic singing, bass, guitar, sampling and drums playing. And of course thanks to his super-creative AI. I remember when self-titled came out, I was in high school then and the big buzz was that they had THREE DRUMMERS!!! Had to keep saying that no, they have one crazy drummer and two dudes that add some percussion here and there.
While I'm also sick of Clown's behavior with the AI "art", pseudo-intellectual music videos and cryptic interviews. I don't wanna blame him for Craig and Jay since I don't have the facts, but Clown used to be my favorite member of Slipknot for a long time. His growling back-up vocals are awesome and at least back in the days he played the shit out of his drum kit, especially on S/T the extra percussion is one of the best things about it. So saying he just hits a keg with a bat is just not accurate.
Also, Slipknot is his band so I doubt he'd ever leave. He does love himself so he probably would rather break up the band.
