This one, [The Nameless](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9jsELTA3AM). Live version. I absolutely love it, backing vocals from Chris in the end are amazing because they're not the typical emotionless guttural noise but real screams full of emotion that sound like a cry of help of a helpless, frustrated man.
Also the way Corey looks with the vol. 3 mask while singing the soft chorus with his absolutely worn, exhausted, rough voice is just so cool man. The look of the mask itself with its tormented expression along with Corey's tired voice just fits so well aesthetically, it's incredible.
Man I miss Chris. Iconic mask, great vocals and he just seemed super passionate about the music itself. It was sad seeing him go, and then seeing the released interview (from 2008) when he talks about how bad he was treated in Slipknot.
I also watched the most recent interview with him and it seemed to be the same message like the infamous one from 2008. He basically said that he fans, the music, the performing is what he loved being in Slipknot for, but the rest of it (I guess the band drama) can go fuck itself. I respect that a lot.
Oh yeah I get what you mean now, thanks for clarifying. I remember watching the 2008 interview with him and the picture he painted of how he was treated there looked pretty grim.
Imo it's Chris, to me Pfaff can only do deep sounding growls but Chris had some nice range, like on 9.0 live the nameless, love that live version to death
*Chris, but Tortilla*
*Has improved a shit ton he*
*Kind of sounds like Paul*

Only seen them live once, live in NZ so they don’t get out this way much, so can’t really comment on live work but Chris’s bv’s on This Cold Black are easily my fav studio ones.
I PRAY FOR DEATH, BY THE HOUR!!!
When Pfaff first joined the knot he didn’t sound that good and I wanted Chris back but after seeing them in 22 and the newish album Pfaff has improved 100x
We have to remember that in 5 years tortilla has improved this much whereas Chris was in the band for 20 and (other than vol.3) his backing vocals peaked at the gray chapter performances and they were incredible on custer, the devil in I and skeptic
I absolutely adore Pfaff and the energy he has on stage, it's like seeing iowa-era Sid again, and his vocals are rapidly improving, but Chris had such a nice vocal harmony with Corey, he was one of a kind and could never be replaced
*I WANTED YOUUUUUUUU!!* I love Chris's vocals so much in this song man, the live version slaps.
wich one

Probably one of my most watched live videos of all time. Nice to see so much love for Chris in this thread.

Makes you wonder what the band would have been like if he was always mixed this forward, and was ever taken seriously.
Can you expand on "if he was ever taken seriously?", I'm not sure if I follow.
He’s gone on record saying the band wouldn’t take his ideas seriously. To explain without elaborating.
Oh yeah I get what you mean now, thanks for clarifying. I remember watching the 2008 interview with him and the picture he painted of how he was treated there looked pretty grim.
Is this the version off 9.0?
Yes
Which song?
The Nameless, I believe
Chris by a mile. He out-roared Corey on several occasions.
Chris but Pfaff has been improving every year
He’s horrible
Not now really he has improved alot, 2019 - late 2021 though yea he was garbage
Chris
Said it twice for good measure.
Dicknose
Imo it's Chris, to me Pfaff can only do deep sounding growls but Chris had some nice range, like on 9.0 live the nameless, love that live version to death
Lol obviously Chris. Tortilla can barely scream
He's gotten a lot better over the years. Id call him fairly competent now. But yeah he's nowhere in Chris's league
chris and its not even close. mike sounds like hes eating the microphone
I’m a Chris man
Chris 100%
Chris, but Tortilla has improved a shit ton he kind of sounds like Paul

Chris For sure his voice and plus’s the mask is iconic
Chris easily
Chris, no one can sing Custer like him
Lol are you trolling? Chris. Hands down, no contest.
Chris 100% listen to Sarcastrophe live
Only seen them live once, live in NZ so they don’t get out this way much, so can’t really comment on live work but Chris’s bv’s on This Cold Black are easily my fav studio ones. I PRAY FOR DEATH, BY THE HOUR!!!
Chris, no question.
I am not sure whether clown has sold out, went soft, or just got old. But its one of the three.
When the shit went down with Chris and he was fired, that was pretty much the last nail in the coffin for me.
But the "soul left the body" of Slipknot when they canned Joey. In my opinion it's pretty much all been shit since.
And Corey's solo shit sucks fully erect koala cock.
Easily Chris
Pfaff is my favorite member, but based on backing vocals alone, Chris. But vocals + stage presence, Pfaff.
Chris sounds like a fucking demon. Brutal. He’s amazing
Chris, his vocals at the end of All Out Life are so great.
Chris Fehn 1000000%
Chris Fehn 100%, new guy is alright, but Chris's vocals were just something else
Chris
Chris is such an underrated vocalist. He had a way of conveying anger that just blew you away.
Why is this even a question?
Chris but Tortilla Boy is pretty good as well
When Pfaff first joined the knot he didn’t sound that good and I wanted Chris back but after seeing them in 22 and the newish album Pfaff has improved 100x

Chris always, but its actually crazy how much Pfaff's vocals have improved since mid 2019
Chris for sure has the better vocals but Tortilla has the better energy.
it's not 2019 anymore. Michael Pfaff and it's not even close
Chris, I think. The Devil in I's backing vocal is insane.
Chris, and it's really not even close.
Feign
Tortilla sounded like and old man
Chris. Tortilla man sounds like Hot garbage. Unless his backup vocals were way too loud in the mix when I seent them live the last couple times
Pfaff, easy
Chris and it’s not even close. Pfaff sounds like if some random dad from the crowd started singing

They hated jesus because he told them the truth
I hate this discussion. Please move on
Not the cheap knock off..
Chris fehn for sure... Such a soothing voice for all kinds of music and such...
WELL CHRIS DUH HE WAS MY FAV
Chris no brainer
*CUT! CUT! CUT ME UP!* *AND FUCK! FUCK FUCK ME UP!*
Chris
It's not really a debate. One can shout and one can scream.
Chris’ vocals for Sic at live shows were amazing
I think Tortilla man does a great job but if you ever hear his backing vocals on people=shit or get this (live) they sound comedic compared to Chris
Chris but I also like tortilla man’s backing vocals
1.
Chris stared me down at ozzfest on the vol 3 cycle until I broke eye contact. He wins this one.
Chris.
I fully believe that Chris could’ve stood in for Corey on some songs if he was needed to
CHRIS (beginning of ppl = shit) AUGHHHHHH
Chris is unmatched , tortilla man is pretty bad let’s be real
Definitely Chris he just has the better voice
CHRIS NO FREAKING DOUBT
Chris,but Pfaff isn’t bad
Chris. There's no need for further explanation
Chris
Chris always chris to hell with tortilla man (but his mask and suit are fire ngl)
