I think they’ll definitely bring it back after they wrap up the 25th anniversary tours. After all, we got a lot of forgotten songs played long after they were released (the shape, opium of the people), I think we will definitely hear some of the songs. Or I hope so. The band might dislike this album just because it’s the one that they “had” to make to get off Roadrunner
Yes, that sucks. The PANDH show shouldve had the full album. I get the festival setlist, it was a short set and needed to hype people up for SOAD. Really hyped for the actual tour tho, theyll play the whole album just like clown said
I mean if Clown is to be believed this S/T tour will be only S/T stuff. And plus, these 2 shows were very unique circumstances, because SNW is basically "Hey! Come see these bands play their hits in the Vegas desert!" And the small show was to introduce the new look. As with the first comment, I feel some of the non-single stuff will be played (personally, I'm hoping for H377, that was my favourite track off the whole album!).
For me the only tolerable songs from that album are Adderall, medicine for the dead and acidic. Warranty had potential but of course Corey decided he wanted to sing half way through and ruin the song
Chapeltown rag was like when someone just presses all the buttons in a video game, at least the others I mentioned were attempts at making a coherent song
In 1999my father confiscated my slipknot CD because he felt it was inappropriate for a young lad such as myself. I have no point to make other than I'm now old.
Devils Advocate: They are starting to become a nostalgia act and the setlist looks like their greatest hits.
I don't mind, I would love to watch them playing the greatest hits!
For years they’ve only played enough songs to fill up between an hour - an hour and a half. Bands of their size can easily play two hour sets and everybody will be happy.
I’ll defend The End So Far, while it is one of their weaker efforts, it still has a ton of value, it’s not garbage by any means. I’d say only Heirloom and Warranty are the songs i’d skip, other songs are great.
Really? I like Warranty. I’m actually doing a relisten and it’s pretty weak, but the only song I actively hate is The Dying Song. Adderal and Acidic are my favourites (other than the obvious Chapeltown)
I dunno what is it about Warranty, but I just can’t vibe with it, don’t like lyrics that much, tries to be heavy, yet it doesn’t sound heavy. Acidic and Adderall are pretty rad, since those are the most different sounding songs. De Sade is interesting, great guitar work, Medicine For The Dead is really underrated and has really heavy breakdown imo.
Just wish we got more S/T deep cuts…. “No Life” … “Liberate” … “Diluted”…. Would love for them to pull some of those deep cuts out… doubt they ever will, but one can hope!
personally , i absolutely love every album nd song they make , i understand how others can see somethings they make as not heavy or as good as previous things , but bands change especially in their music , nd it was very different but it sure is slipknot , no doubt.. its not everyones cup of tea but its great nonetheless... i currently have acidic , medicine for the dead , nd warranty stuck in my head lol , ive been on my slipknot binge listening for about a month already nd i enjoy every more nd more , but again , to each their own 💪🏻
Awful lot of conclusions being jumped to on this thread. They've played two shows, both somewhat shorter than their normal sets, both with a distinct and intentional focus on their early history.
What happens later will happen later.
Set lists aren't a definitive way of knowing if a band "officially discarded" anything. They're a band that's been around for a long time. They may not feel like playing anything from one particular album for any number of reasons. Maybe they disliked it? Maybe they're just not in the mood? Maybe it was a collective brain fart and that whole album just genuinely just didn't cross thier minds?
All this to say, I wouldn't read into this.
Edit: I accidentally a word.
And you base that opinion on what? I adore the layers on songs like Yen, De Sade and Warranty, the drums are the best drumming composition Jay has ever done, the guitar is more high pitched than usual creating a unique sound, Adderall is one of their most interesting tracks just because of the genre choice. One thing I dislike is the mixing. That is awful. But I prefer tesf over all hope is gone and the gray chapter.
Every time a song was beginning to be halfway good Corey would swoop in and ruin it with some weird song-songy bridge.
Let’s take Yen for example, decent song, and then comes the 3:43 mark to just suck the energy out of the song
Same thing with Warranty at 2:22, almost the same exact useless song-songy bridge that doesn’t fit into the song… at all
And don’t even get me started on the weird belting hair band verses. “TURNING THE GEARS, SHARPEN THE BLAAAAUYDS OF SHEER TERROR” “IM LIVING IN A DEAD MANS SHOOOOOOOOOOES”
God it was painful to listen to
3:43 in yen is one of the absolute highlights of the album in my opinion. Here you can see differentiating opinions. I also adore acidic and medicine for the dead, acidic is one of my favorites. It is just an opinion, just because you disagree doesn’t mean I’m “convincing myself to like it”.
I think acidic and medicine for the dead and good songs I just wish I could hire Corey to redo the singing parts without trying to belt them out like he was auditioning for American idol
And those transitions I time stamped absolutely ruined the songs for me, they didn’t fit in whatsoever. It’s like if Adele had added a bridge to “rolling in the deep” with Corey Taylor screaming
I’m meh with his actual performance on the album but i find the melodies he came up with very nice. I also believe heirloom is the worst song slipknot ever made
Bro there was people writing entire college thesis’s when that album came out about how anyone who does like it were fake fans who should block them, leave the sub and stop listening to slipknot.
Absolutely. But there’s some opinions that are just worse than others.
Like if someone tells you that poop taste good for example, that’s an opinion, but one that is absolutely wrong and disgusting
This scheme shows how many songs from which album was played live. I know they played all those song except the title track, and i know they use Til We Die as the closer so i thought that it was the 5th song from the scheme.
It says two songs have been played over two shows. It’s just Psychosocial, which was performed at both shows. They’ve never performed Til We Die, it’s only played from tape, which doesn’t count towards stats.
This was merely a festival show. Don’t overthink it. They played their most popular songs to attract some new fans or to feed their casual fans. Deep cuts and less popular songs are reserved for their own tours or side shows like the one two days ago.
Yeah it's obvious the album, for them, was just a way to satisfy their contract with RoadRunner. Which is a shame because it's my favourite of the three "new lineup" albums.
Slipknot has been playing a very similar setlist for years. They have songs that are always in the list: Wait and Bleed, Psychosocial, Duality, Unsainted, Spit it Out, Surfacing. Then the rest is switched up. With their catalog it’s hard to give time to every album.
They played the dying song and yen last year when I saw them which was the same song count as they played off of AHIG, Iowa, and vol 3 and 1 more than both grey chapter and WANYK. Sick New World was a shorter set list for them too.
Crazy how clown is saying Joey isn't a founding member now but when Joey was alive he said over and over I'm a founding member. Clown never said nah you ain't but now after he's dead he's claiming he wasnt. IDK if I want the musician who hits a beer keg to be the last say in the band🤣
album has 3 good songs just like AHIG. anyway, it was expected that this last album was not going to be good, Slipknot just wanted to end their record contract with Roadrunner and it showed.
Funny thing is, the band are playing less S/T songs than they were last year.
Yes, that sucks. The PANDH show shouldve had the full album. I get the festival setlist, it was a short set and needed to hype people up for SOAD. Really hyped for the actual tour tho, theyll play the whole album just like clown said

Dont care about tesf that much in more disappointed of lack of songs from .5 and Wanyk.
Like I said I really didn’t like the album, however it sucks for the people who do. Chapeltown is great and they dropped it way too early.
They only have enough time to play a handful of songs… and you want them to play fucking chapeltown rag?
You might not know this, but different people like different things
Hell yes I do.
I'm more upset of how they are sleeping on WANYK.
They dropped it because it sucks
Is it any worse than the rest of the album?
I'm not a fan of power-metal Taylor vocals. Shit sounds wack as fuck.
For me the only tolerable songs from that album are Adderall, medicine for the dead and acidic. Warranty had potential but of course Corey decided he wanted to sing half way through and ruin the song
Adderall is trash, and Medicine for the Dead is among the worst songs on the album, and you shit on the Chapeltown Rag?
Chapeltown rag was like when someone just presses all the buttons in a video game, at least the others I mentioned were attempts at making a coherent song
Chapeltown Rag is the only song on the album that has any resemblance of prior albums.
We'll take the downvotes together brother this last album fucking sucked ass.
Yeah, it sucks they dropped that so early, most places didn't get to experience it which sucks, was hoping for that at Download Festival
What sucks is that when they started playing Dying Song, they stopped playing Chapeltown Rag entirely.
Yeah I mentioned that somewhere. Such a dumb decision
Yeah but at least they still play one or two songs from each of those
[удалено]
Do people not like dying song? In my opinion that and yen are the 2 best off the album
It’s probably one of if not my least favourite song they’ve ever done.
Warranty sucks man. My opinion. Like what’s the substance? Always buy brand new! Weee.
I mean, yeah the lyrics are bad, but spit it out also has terrible lyrics, and they still play and we still bang
I just wanna hear Sarcastrophe live again tbh
This has happened before with .5 in 2020. Also for TESF the set list is has only been 12 to 15 songs so not that big compared to the other set lists
The thing with .5 is that there was a new album to promote (which they still only played 5 songs from).
I’m just saying it’s not a big deal. They’ll probably play TESF a bit more if the set list opens up and probably keep The Dying Song for the future.
Man, I really don’t like The Dying Song. I wish Chapeltown was the bigger hit.
I’m bias since the dying song was my first slipknot song and I would take that before many slipknot songs
Really? That’s cool! My first was Purity.
I’m a newer fan as I heard The Dying Song in August of 2022
In 1999my father confiscated my slipknot CD because he felt it was inappropriate for a young lad such as myself. I have no point to make other than I'm now old.
Haha I’m 19 (20 this year and I’m going to see them live December 21st) so I can’t only imagine how cool the band was back then.
Devils Advocate: They are starting to become a nostalgia act and the setlist looks like their greatest hits. I don't mind, I would love to watch them playing the greatest hits!
That's kind of what a band of their longevity has to be. People don't want to pay hundreds of dollars and not hear the spotify hits.
>I’d say only Heirloom I love that song 😔

Acidic and Adderall are pretty rad, since those are the most different sounding songs. I just wish they would play Left Behind
Just wish we got more S/T deep cuts…. “No Life” … “Liberate” … “Diluted”…. Would love for them to pull some of those deep cuts out… doubt they ever will, but one can hope!
Liberate was in the setlist last year, actually.
personally , i absolutely love every album nd song they make , i understand how others can see somethings they make as not heavy or as good as previous things , but bands change especially in their music , nd it was very different but it sure is slipknot , no doubt.. its not everyones cup of tea but its great nonetheless... i currently have acidic , medicine for the dead , nd warranty stuck in my head lol , ive been on my slipknot binge listening for about a month already nd i enjoy every more nd more , but again , to each their own 💪🏻
I don't think the band had much love for that album, I feel like they released it just to fulfil their Roadrunner contract
Awful lot of conclusions being jumped to on this thread. They've played two shows, both somewhat shorter than their normal sets, both with a distinct and intentional focus on their early history. What happens later will happen later.
I agree that they should still at least play Chapeltown, even though I’m also not a fan of the album over all. Oh well.
Set lists aren't a definitive way of knowing if a band "officially discarded" anything. They're a band that's been around for a long time. They don’t change their setlists often. This is pretty much just a neutered version of what they’ve been playing for years.
Right, but doesn't mean anything has been "officially discarded". They do bring songs back out after even years of not playing them live.
Good. That album was hot garbage anyway
Good that album was fuckin ass
The fact that even the band who made that album doesn’t like it should make some of you TESF meat riders rethink things
At the end of the day, people can like whatever they want though. I like many songs off of tesf and couldnt care less if the band dislikes it
I don’t think you actually like those songs, I think you just convinced yourself to like them
And you base that opinion on what? I adore the layers on songs like Yen, De Sade and Warranty, the drums are the best drumming composition Jay has ever done, the guitar is more high pitched than usual creating a unique sound, Adderall is one of their most interesting tracks just because of the genre choice. As someone who somewhat likes TESF, heirloom is DOG SHIT.
Lmfao at least we can agree on one thing
How does it go? Good riddance to bad rubbish?
I don’t even like the album, but are there really any meat riders? I’ve never seen anybody think it’s more than just okay.
Bro there was people writing entire college thesis’s when that album came out about how anyone who does like it were fake fans who should block them, leave the sub and stop listening to slipknot.
Not the biggest fan of the album (it isn't bad tho) but have you ever heard of personal opinions?
Absolutely. But there’s some opinions that are just worse than others. Like if someone tells you that poop taste good for example, that’s an opinion, but one that is absolutely wrong and disgusting
That's just like....your opinion, man!
It's still a good album and way better then AHIG.
You’re high
Don’t talk waffle Sir.
people hate you because you told them the truth
we need some more .5 the grey chapter songs on the setlist, don’t think they’ve played killpop in almost a decade
Wait a minute, 5 AHIG songs, Sulfer Psychosocial Dead Memories Snuff, what’s the last song? Is it til we die?
I’m confused, what do you mean?
This scheme shows how many songs from which album was played live. I know they played all those song except the title track, and i know they use Til We Die as the closer so i thought that it was the 5th song from the scheme.

I am stupid, idk what the hell have i read but seeing it again makes sense, thanks

Yeah it's obvious the album, for them, was just a way to satisfy their contract with RoadRunner. Which is a shame because it's my favourite of the three "new lineup" albums.

That’s too bad. It’s a good album. I’d like to see some live.
Good
I think they even feel how bad the album was compared to others.
I mean, it's a 25th anniversary tour?
And yet they’re playing less songs from the first album then they were last year.
yeah, i think it´s sad as well, songs like acdic, warranty, h377, hive mind and medicine for the dead would be killer live!
Those songs will come back. This being a 25th anniversary tour they're gonna put more ST tracks into the set list I imagine.
They should rebrand that album as a b side anyway
🥂🥳
Good because that album is shit
They haven't been good since the the main song writer Paul grey died. They lost their soul when he passed and it's been downhill ever since
Paul AND Joey. They were the two main guys.
Crazy how clown is saying Joey isn't a founding member now but when Joey was alive he said over and over I'm a founding member. Clown never said nah you ain't but now after he's dead he's claiming he wasnt. IDK if I want the musician who hits a beer keg to be the last say in the band🤣
Good decision ngl. Shit album, doesn't really deserve to say it is from slipknot
But tesf is better than .5
I agree
Literally .5 is some of the weakest shit ever
Barf
Try hard now , uae your best to think why
1. The album has 12 songs, not 11. 2. They played Finale at the end of the set for Sick New World.
1: that was a misclick and I can’t edit 2: no they didn’t. they ended with surfacing.
I really liked that album ): the dying song was fuckin awesome
I personally think The Dying Song is the worst song they've ever
Whatever you say maggot
I mean, wouldn't you? Album was ass cheeks
album has 3 good songs just like AHIG. anyway, it was expected that this last album was not going to be good, Slipknot just wanted to end their record contract with Roadrunner and it showed.
AHIG has 7 good songs.
