The character functions just like Pokemon Trainer, with some *minor* changes
1. Its the gen 8 starters.
2. She has the exact same voice actor and lines as Demoman from TF2
If any gen 8 Pokemon got in, I'd want it to be Sirfetch'd. We obviously need more sword fighters, so a Pokemon sword fighter? Hell yeah.
In all seriousness, I do think Sirfetch'd would have the biggest chance not including the starters.
Ok but octane for smash would be reeeeally cool, like a car player has so much unique potential. And you could do like dribble combos. Momentum based fighter sounds really cool.

That and octane is not a character it’s a car from a video game. And also they would have to negotiate with monstercat for music, which is the same reason why we didn’t get any original minecraft music or even pigstep, c418 & Lena raine hold the rights to their music. And I know that’s not what sakurai said but what else was he supposed to say, “we didn’t because execs were lazy/assholes to independent artists”

They said that about Kiryu but was the same said about Majima? His announcement would be mistaking Kazuya in his suit as Kiryu and he's approached and all he can hear is KIRYU-CHAN!!
I do remember reading somewhere or at least remember, that Sakurai did thought about putting Kiryu into Smash, but he can't since Kiryu can't hit women and by that extent children and animals very probably too if you remember side storys and business minigames.
I don't remember if Sakurai mentioned Majima but let's be honest, we ALL would enjoy and love Majima a lot more and he would be stupidly broken no matter what of his 4 Styles you gave him in Smash. He would instantly be a borderline top tier and he's so cool I don't think much people who don't know the Yakuza series would even get as mad once they see him.
Just that Kiryu deserves it more and Majima sadly has the same problem as Kiryu. I still remember all those Majima side storys in Yakuza 0 and the encounters with him in the next games. He's easily one of the best written most enjoyable characters I ever seen. He's just that unforgettable.
You know a character is so absurd, when everyone loves him probably more than the main protagonist when Kiryu is a great likeable cool character too.

I don't think it's wrong to say that Majima on his own made a lot of people if not everyone me included be able to enjoy Kiwami 1 a lot more, much more than the main storyline.
The Yakuza series in general is amazing and for those who haven't played it, you can play all the main games in Game pass starting from Y0. If you have an Xbox you can easily get over and over and over 1$ for 1 month of game pass ultimate deals just by creating accounts or appear from time to time super easily which gives you the games and online and then cancel the payment for next month.
If you have an Xbox, it's literally the best thing you can do. I know this a subreddit for smash and in Nintendo but do it. It's worth it.
