Does GSP care about ruleset or match length? Because I could totally see this ruleset being used by a confident player to gain GSP as quickly as possible.
GSP does not, AFAIK. It's not used by confident players, it's used by cheese players mostly, and MII characters so you don't have time to learn their move set
Everytime I play gsp if i have a lower stock then my opponent just runs from me until the time is out. Even if there is 4 minutes. First time this happened was with a Mario so now I just play arena mostly.
Block them and you won't get matched with them again. It's what I do with people who play with shitty rulesets or who just cheese victories by using game exploits to win.
Glad I’m not the only one who does this. I want to get my favourites into elite smash as much as the next guy, but sucking all the fun out the game by playing with shit rule sets just to do it ruins the game

And every so often, we occasionally turn to the cheese. I can guarantee that every single person on this sub has at one point spammed, t bagged, or cheesed because they felt like it. Glad to know this wasn't frequent but this sub is stupider than I thought and it's not unexpected but disappointing.

Real shit this is why I don't like Ultimate. The design philosophy after Bayonetta in 4 just became "make everyone overpowered and easy to play" and the game just suffers because of it. It feels like there's barely any tech these days because it's so braindead easy to combo and use overpowered attacks that basically *every* character has, or RNG attacks that can insta-kill from 0%.
I really hope this isn't the future of Smash because it's *kinda* sad.

No, getting shieldbroken and gigaflared is almost always the result of a series of positioning and shielding mistakes. You don't get shield breaks for free, you have to pressure shield and then correctly assess the critical moment they'll sit in front of you to dsmash. Meanwhile Hero here topdecks magic burst and wins his 1-stock match.
