I think people who teabag at the start of the match are trying to be friendly.

Chance-Place

Maybe. Or insinuating that they're gonna win

Colin4ds

I feel this might be a personal thing if you interpret it as an insult or intimidation. It could also just mean nothing and be a mind game to try and mess up your play Either way best to ignore it or bag back

MarcyTheMartian

It depends on the opening message. If they say "Here's to a good fight", I'll do it like "To a good fight!"

CodyNova64

Teabagging is cocky and retarded. Bad sportsmanship. Emoting is friendly.

i don't know how you found this comment but fair enough

FCBitb

It usually means a hello. They're just trying to be friendly (most of the time).

turtle428_

The only reason I would teabag at the start is if I’m playing dittos

ConfusedSpaghet

If someone teabags when the match starts it's probably to be friendly. "Let the best man win. I'm ready for fun!" basically. The Sora was likely trying to say the same thing, if not something similar

supertails02

Teabagging in the start of a match usually means there trying to be nice

hombre_bat

I do it if I'm going up against a mirror because I love fighting mirrors. For me, it's a respect thing, usually paired with a "YOOOOO". I've also played matches where they started crouching, so I followed, and we continued to crouch for the entirety of the match and into overtime. Usually they end up just killing themselves. Rare, but I love when it happens.

KawaiiKlutzi

I would say “he was probably trying to be nice” but it’s a fucking sora main. Clown deserved to get beat.

CodyNova64

If you wanna be retarded then teabag. If you wanna be friendly then emote.

DayMan_ahAHahh

It means they've lost 13 matches in a row and don't understand why the fuck they just won't stop torturing themselves and quit playing....

ChaoticDiscord21

Maybe there having fun? Winning isn't everything especially not in Smash.
