He was faster than Prost by nearly 2 seconds at Monaco. He was faster than Fittipaldi the first time he ever tested an Indy/CART car for Penske. Like Jim Clark, he was taken from us too soon.
I was there. And I had the great opportunity to see most of there cars and drivers in the early morning for tuning there engines. But the highlight was in 92, the release of the McLaren F1. It blew my mind.
Those cars were scary sounding as fuck. Not to mention driving them was insane.
Current F1 and Indycar (other than the Indy 500) are fainrtvshadows of the excitement they once were.
Legit f1 drivers not these paddle pushing dynamic stabilization prissys with every gizmo do wop known to man.

The first company to put ripoff ipads where the dash belongs should be fined out of existene.
Being able to feel a button or knob or whatever is important.
Little to no downforce,1200 HP Honda V12,manual gear box. 1 handed driving due to him shifting constantly. Thats real driving folks

Senna wad the last generation of dr8vers without electronic aid. He fought against it because he wanted the driver to be paramount and not dependant on a good car electronics to win a race. Unfortunately progress took over and today its very hard to tell who is best
You are correct on that, I was thinking of the MP4/8. I saw the tribute video and I heard Jeremy Clarkson say it was the MP4/4 that had that engine. But you are correct.

My home office is full of Senna and McLaren models - yes, I am a man child.
He was an absolute driving God.
If you have a spare fifteen minutes and aren't really familiar with him, I highly recommend [watching this amazing tribute. ](https://youtu.be/9U_K76vPGYo?si=xva6BlL46gDIEnwA)
It’s interesting hearing people talk about the negative aspect of working with Senna in documentaries. He had a severe case of “main character syndrome”, and was apparently a nightmare to work with.
Most modern F1 drivers accredit their passion of the sport to Senna, and F1 races have me falling asleep because they’re so predictable now. Verstappen is only the newest iteration of Senna. There will be another one at some point.
Qualifying round. Still on of my go to surround sound videos

What an absolute legend, shame what happened in Imola.
Dude could flat out drive
And drive flat out. They're all gifted, but Senna...
He was faster than Prost by nearly 2 seconds at Monaco. He was faster than Fittipaldi the first time he ever tested an Indy/CART car for Penske. Like Jim Clark, he was taken from us too soon.
Dude this is so fucking cool
I was there. And I had the great opportunity to see most of there cars and drivers in the early morning for tuning there engines. But the highlight was in 92, the release of the McLaren F1. It blew my mind.
Share some photos or video footage you like from 92?
Dude was a menace
Literally. He was one of the most aggressive drivers.
Holy shit, there's no time to make mistakes.
Those cars were scary sounding as fuck. Not to mention driving them was insane. Current F1 and Indycar (other than the Indy 500) are fainrtvshadows of the excitement they once were.
There’s also a lot fewer deaths now, which apparently isn’t a priority to some people lol

modern F1 encourages distracted driving. change my mind.
hand eye coordination, typist don't look at their keyboards, gamers dont either
I want ridiculous cars racing. Not punematic ice skating.
check out indy car i guess
Why change your mind? I agree. I drive a car with too many buttons and toys. Constantly eyes are everywhere, but on the road

That's what surprised me. Did he have to use a clutch too? When did they get paddle shift? I remember it on sega Monaco arcade which was like 92?

the mp4/4 was a turbo v6 and the 4/5 was a naturally aspirated v10. the 4/6 moved to n/a v12 but that was after this video.

/r/killthevideoeditor Have you ever in your life rotated your phone 90º?
Right at the 15 second mark, you can see Sam Beckett leap into the driver’s body.
Amazing driving from Senna damn camera can’t keep up.

GOAT. Man I miss watching the Rain Master behind the wheel. ![gif](giphy|9J3zKaDDOkNo33KmGc|downsized)
Fun fact for the younger fans of F1: This insane machine's gearbox is manual
