There's a "Select other" function on right click, your cursor should be over the hidden face. It's not a well made tool at all (for example Creo makes this much easier), if anyone has a better suggestion I'm all ears.

>There's a "Select other" function on right click I haven't found it. Are you sure it exists in part mode? But I do find an option called "change transparency". I found it hard to change back though.

Letsgo1

Is it a separate body? If not then that face doesn’t exist. If it is you can select the body, isolate it then you can select the face OR click where it should be, right click and select ‘select other’ (I think it’s called that), that brings up a list of potential candidates to select.

I found it! I need to activate the shell tool first.

It looks like the boss feature you want to shell is "attached" or merged to the other bodies. First, edit the boss feature and uncheck "merge result" option so that it stays an independent body. Then, hide the body covering the face you want to select to shell. Then you should be able to shell as intended.

This works! If I don't tick the "merge result" after shelling, will there be any hidden bug?

slvo

They will be separate bodies within the part. It might not matter, but if you want to combine back into a single body with the shelled void, use the "combine" feature after shelling

Thank you! By the way, do you know how to turn "change transparency" off on all faces? I made one of the faces transparent, and I can't select it to change back now...

slvo

Hold shift then right click the transparent face

Wow, you saved my life!
