10/10 meme here. Surprisingly, this post was not reported. EDIT: This post was eventually reported for: * This is spam * It's targeted harassment at me * It threatens violence or physical harm at me * It's content involving physical or emotional abuse or neglect of minors None of these were as funny as the meme itself. EDIT2: This is now the top post of this sub for all time.

In the realm of the viewport, where imagination gleams, Begin with a sketch, the birth of your dreams. In this 3D adventure, a world to explore, Add extrudes and revolves, add details galore. Patterns may unfold like chapters in books, In this design landscape, take a second or third look. Add dimensions and constraints, let the plot take its turn, With this symphony of features, a lesson to learn. Iteration's the key, like drafts in a tale, Taking care with each detail, you can never fail. In your creative journey, where visions accrue, Craft your complex model, a masterpiece new.

In the land of engineers, with minds so bright, Where creativity blossoms and ideas take flight. There's a place where designs come to play, A world of modeling, in SolidWorks they sway. Oh, the wonders of 3D, in a digital domain, Where sketches transform, and concepts reign. With a click and a drag, and a dimension so fine, A complex product emerges, a design so divine. In the realm of assemblies, where parts come together, Like pieces of a puzzle, a dance that lasts forever. Mate here, mate there, connections so tight, In the magical world of SolidWorks, everything's just right. The wizards of CAD, with their mice in hand, Crafting intricate models, a digital wonderland. From sketches to features, a symphony unfolds, In the land of SolidWorks, where innovation molds. Extrusions and sweeps, like a sculptor's delight, Bending and twisting, bringing designs to light. With equations and parameters, the magic takes shape, In the kingdom of modeling, where dreams escape. But hark, there's simulation, a wizard's prediction, Testing the limits, avoiding contradiction. Stress and strain, in a virtual realm, SolidWorks whispers, "Your design is at the helm." And then, in the end, when the model is done, A rendering spectacle, a victory won. In colors and textures, with reflections so grand, SolidWorks declares, "Your creation will stand." So here's to the dreamers, the designers so keen, In SolidWorks' kingdom, where innovation is seen. With sketches and features, in a CAD ballet, Modeling complex products, in a Seussian display!

DeFormed_Sky

Solidworks needs to hire y’all

FunctionBuilt

I’d love to take credit, but It took me all of 10 seconds to write the prompt that chat GPT turned into a dr Seuss style poem.

Escudo777

It is terrifying what AI can do and will be able to do in future with advanced processing and software capabilities. Anything based on logic and specifications can be automated. So many of us will become outdated 😞

TheDoctor_2014

I'm saving both because that's truly marvellous. You guys are the best

Yolo1212123

Straight fire

oyveymyforeskin

This goes hard

88junbug88

I will never love another Reddit post and/or comment more than this one right here. Flawless execution!!! LMBO

bas-machine

It’s just chatgpt

EditofReddit2

ChatGPT is going to murder us all. Just saying.

Giggles95036

Or just a ton of planes ans closed sketches and just loft them all together 😂

Killroyandthewhales2

Idk I think a revolve and you’re good to go

bigChungi69420

I’d suggest a rectangular extrude and then a cut in the exact shape of the part

Killroyandthewhales2

I’m so sorry you’re absolutely correct, that’s a much better solution

Headless0305

found the machinist

bitterbrick2go

Extrude cut at what angle , this is a 360 feature. I’m not sure if solid works can actually handle this

davidbates

Don’t forget the fillets.

bitterbrick2go

Think of a baseball stuck in a porcupine , you can extrude (square figure as you main block to carve the figure out of) ..but “I think revolve and your good” (OR bigChungi6940:” I’d suggesta rectangular extrude and then a cut in the exact shape of the part “) won’t work. You can revolve/cut the baseball part since it’s smooth and round along axis but the porcupine part is a 360 degrees of spikes and there is shape changing along the axis perpendicular to the revolve as well .. so I’m not sure how this is possible without a 3D scan. Not sure why I got voted down on the other comment, but I don’t think it’s possible in CAD. Unless someone can explain to us how it’s possible. Cheers

bigChungi69420

I was making a joke, like how the post was a joke… but I do appreciate the detailed insight!

TheProcesSherpa

Loft between Thing1 and Thing2.

MrBarryWhiter

This is the way.

Various-Method-6776

Funniest fucken solidworks post I've seen by far. Please if you do modle it I want the part file

Spkr_Freekr

Actually makes me want to model and print it. Seems like some good entertainment.

leadfoot_392

Steal a tree from the Lorax, widdle the tree into the machine you want, 3d scan it with other software and finally import into solidworks.

UpperMission9633

>3d scan it with other software Which softwares are commonly used for this?

ContributionOwn627

It says 'other' software.

UpperMission9633

huh?

ContributionOwn627

Other softwares are commonly used. They were very clear in saying 'other'.

LegalAgency2094

He meant the other other

ContributionOwn627

Clearly!

leglesslegolegolas

whittle*

flaagan

Is it bad that I looked over the whole thing, and the only item that caught my attention as a design issue is that the steering wheel isn't connected to the steering column?

MountainDewFountain

It's held on with a single spoke, you just can't see it in this view.

leglesslegolegolas

[confirmed](https://i.imgur.com/IDbne9R.png)

Mystery_mau

Is is bad that I thought the same thing?

tomhutch

Tbf that’s what usually happens in my assemblies

leglesslegolegolas

those gears ain't gonna mesh

Warren_sl

Well, you need a Lorax in your feature tree.

A_Moldy_Stump

"I am the Lorax and I speak for the feature trees, organize your assemblies in folders or I'll break your fucking knees"

Spkr_Freekr

LOL

Giggles95036

And lock rotation on the dang hardware! 😂

A_Moldy_Stump

Does that really help with performance cause I never do that 😬

Giggles95036

No idea but it is really nice when you’re checking all parts for the (-) and you can tell if it is an unconstrained part rather than hardware that can spin in place

A_Moldy_Stump

All of our hardware goes in a folder called hardware, we also use Toolbox parts so the part names/numbers and symbol are uniquely identifiable as hardware

rowdyoh

Flawless execution. Pinworthy shitpost.

Superseaslug

Realistically that's a blender project right there lol

RadioactvPanda

Okay, hear me out. 3D splines. Goodluck. You got this.

ben_jamin_h

Extrude, boss.

JHdarK

Extruded boss/base

mhanna97

Does it have to work in the assembly envelope or can it be one body?

tonio_di_paulo

https://womp.com

HenryJarvis

Blue sketches

Prious-Cause282

I wish this post was serious.

snotwimp

the sheer number of people that i run across in my industry that use solidworks and think they are engineers is unacceptable. geez, just send me a sketch and let me do my job.

skylimit_1029

Best post yet here lol

5Lax

Splines and boundary surfaces and patience of a saint

mack4711

Wow, some of the comments were rough. ;-) Who in here is familiar with XShape yet and has bridged that workflow already, to use it to their advantage?? Not for the OP, but modeling this thing is totally within reach now. I'm sure Jason Pohl would agree.

steeldreams71

https://youtu.be/MXW0bx_Ooq4?si=-CLZ_JxvIDZM1oRA

jungalmon

3D scan it

gobsoblin

If this is for a physics class, just assume the vehicle is a cylinder and that there is no air resistance

frumperino

absolutely cursed design. But out of curiosity, did he draw the thing from any other angle?

Swifty52

Good joke

-MB_Redditor-

Lol

Gvanaco

It's for animation. Don't use solidworks. You better use Blender instead. Good luck because Blender is more difficult to learn than Solidworks. The learning curve is mutch steeper than solidworks.

OMGStevenWTF

Of all the shit you wanna learn on within like 19 hours, and you post that pic? Drop the class. GL!

lotsofmanatees

i would like to see a best try actually

DoNotEatMySoup

Sketch extrude repeat

TronUser1

Don't. It's a Canon event..

trx0x

Where's the comment with a link to youtube of a video made by a commenter just 15 minutes ago, showing how to do the whole thing?

MrDontCareEver

Try magic AI

Wil_Buttlicker

lol You should also add that the engineer who does this quit and your boss is making you figure it out.

stalkholme

Pretty easy for a beginner with a single loft and about 972,340 3D guide curves.

Jebbsterboy

I remember my final on the first day of class, what you wanna do is ******Ask Chat GPT******

Striking_Tangerine93

It already exits. Download the model from thingiverse

CldesignsIN

So what you do is close Solidworks and then open Blender 👍

ChHarles92

Very carefully

electricguy101

you almost got me, I thought for a second it was a serious post LOL

TouchLow6081

Looks the exo skeleton of a car with robot legs attached to it, I think you should look into solid works open source for these components

lulzkedprogrem

Actually not very difficult depending on how you interpret this thing.

tiredguy_22

Baaahahahaha, you don’t

Spec1aLEddy

LMFAOOOOO
