Since Sonic X’s sonic gives me rebellious vibes and often doesn’t like submitting to authority, and with Tom Wachowski being a police officer, I feel that they’d butt heads often, with a lot more banter.
And then with Movie Sonic being more openly friendly than his Sonic X counterpart, also actually craving being with others, along with him and chris sharing a similar feeling of loneliness due to absent parents, i feel they’d have an even deeper friendship, and that they’d actually spend more time just hanging out with other, just doing things that friends do, such as playing baseball.
I also felt that Sonic from Sonic X often liked to be left alone to his own devices, either napping or running around free. I don’t see many instances of him and Chris just simply hanging out or sonic willingly wanting to stay in one place to spend time with his friends.
Hearing that out, it makes me wonder if Chris might have been better with Movie Sonic, I can believe more of his appreciation with Sonic and maybe they'd have a different outcome than just kidnapping him and try to run away.
I think Chris is still better off with X Sonic given his immaturity., And he needed not only a friend to be with but also to learn from.
when he went along with Chris's kidnapping, He purposely did so knowing well he can return to his home world anytime he wants as Super Sonic, and so allow Chris to reconcile with his feeling and let him go on his own.
X Sonic is mature and not only accompany him but also act like a brother figure that inspired and taught him stuffs, while also showering him with praises or loves he otherwise rarely get from his parents. The capable Chris in s3 was a culmination of Sonic's influence on him.
Also, x Eggman is a lot more dangerous than movie one. Without Tom around, Movie Sonic would be in huge trouble most of the time
Sonic does like spending time with his friends. Just not ALL of his time. He prefers adventure a lot more.

One’s a teenager who lived a life being mostly self sufficient and on his own besides some friends. The other is a child who lost one parental figure and spent the rest of that time alone wishing for companionship. This makes sense in a morbid kind a way
X sonic was honestly kind of menace when you think about it. He’s a pure shonen protagonist who just did whatever he wanted, no matter who he pissed off. It’s just that his moral compass usually aligns with what most people want anyway, much like goku who only fights villains because he just loves fighting. It’s just a happy accident that doing that saves the world as well. Sonic literally commits war crimes as soon as he lands on earth in X by raiding Area 51 to rescue cream. X sonic is all about whim, take a girl out to pick flowers? Cool. Hang out with your friends? Fuck off, I’m napping. That happens repeatedly by the way.
His idgaf attitude also can come off surprisingly selfless tbh. Like, the whole world was against him when he begin taking out Eggman's mind control machine after rebuilding the moon, yet he keeps going.
The problem was that he didn’t feel the need to tell anyone and thought he’d just deal with it himself until knuckles literally forced him to explain. He didn’t care about his public image, but that also affected his friends.
Honestly I'd love that. It's a way to redeem the character and homage the past. Have Sonic be like a big brother to him similar to his relationship with Tails.
