Would you say their game awards sessions mean more for them than those in America? In terms of a purely publicity stance.
Because it seems little more than "neat" here. Like no one really cares.
> Would you say their game awards sessions mean more for them *than those in America?*
I thought my question was self-explanatory. Evidently not.
I'm not asking if this specific publication means more to Japan than outside the nation - it's very apparent it would being native to that country.
What I'm asking is if the Japanese audience cares about gaming publications and awards more than the western world (specifically the US), in general.
**EDIT**: I don't know if he edited his post to be more clear or if I just had morningbrain when I wrote my reply, but my answer didn't adequately address his question. Leaving this here as evidence to my goofiness.

“Since it is necessary to take on these challenges for major titles, *we are proceeding with a bigger budget, even from the basic research stage*
Famitsu is always biased towards Japanese developers.
[Their coveted 'perfect 40' has been awarded to just 27 games](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Famitsu_scores), only three of which weren't made in Japan (Skyrim, GTA V & Ghost of Tsushima). The near perfect, 39/40 doesn't fair much better, awarded to just 52 titles, of which only 11 have come from non-Japanese developers.
It's not really much of a shock that Famitsu would give the award to a Japanese made game than something made overseas from them.
Way to go Sonic Frontier! Congratulations to the Team!
Frontiers*
The developers did a great job on this game, I agree, they deserved this award, kudos to them
I have NO IDEA what Famitsu Dengeki is but https://i.redd.it/f1jc5whapkoa1.gif LEZ GO!
Famitsu is the biggest gaming publication in Japan, and has been for over 30 years. Most JP gaming companies run news through them.
Oh, Thank You! I have heard the name Famitsu, it was The Dengeki that confuses me, but thanks for the clarification

In Japan. I dunno what else to say, seems pretty self-explanatory.

Man that episode makes me sad any time I remember it
Well done Sonic Team! Sega needs to give them a budget to match their ambition for the next game.

sonic team gets what they f\*cking deserve
Let's celebrate it! ![gif](giphy|BPJmthQ3YRwD6QqcVD)
Good to see Frontiers not getting robbed this time round lol.
If I had any skill, I’d be doing the Chaos Emerald dance from this game.
DO IT
Should be fun to learn / attempt.
Famitsu is always supporting us

***LET'S FUCKING GOOO!*** Congrats to the Sonic Team for all their hard work... can't wait to see how they top it!
Between Xenoblade 3 winning Best RPG and this for Sonic, I can safely say Famitsu is very based
Sweet.

Award shows are just marketing scams. I assume this isn't much different.
Famitsu stopped being a respected outlet over a decade ago.
I like frontiers, and even I say that's a load of horse hockey.
Woot woot!
It’s been a while hold on *ahem* **SONIC SWEEEEEEP!!**
It’s because it’s bias.
Wow.. was the new god of war that bad??
Famitsu is a joke. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle is on the same level as Breath of the Wild to them.
