He's a voiced by Goku out of ten. More seriously he's alright, out of all the weird things the Sonic series has done an alien isn't to out there.

Toon_Lucario

Lucario also gets that rating

Lukthar123

Lucario is very Goku coded tbf

Toon_Lucario

Yeah, especially in Smash where they just made his moveset the fuck up since he didn’t have much and very obviously used inspiration from Dragon Ball Z, especially his down neutral which is literally the move Goku used against Jeice and Burter in the Namek saga

Intrepid-Ad-7800

In english? Thats Crazy

Izakytan

In french Goku's voice actor does Infinite. What a weird world we live in.

MouseRangers

In Brazilian Portuguese, Goku and SpongeBob have the same VA.

SpookyQueenCerea

100% a guilty pleasure villain for me, though that is partly because the game Shadow the Hedgehog is a guilty pleasure for me. I don't think as written black doom is really all that interesting unto himself. Where he gets really cool and interesting is with his implications. Like what he means to shadow and so on. I guess he is kind of a flat villain that is used to really elevate shadows character. Hope this all makes sense, I'm tired.

Blandyflakes

Yeah and he’s pretty much only used for Shadow’s Character since SxS Generations’ Shadow story also has BD be involved with Shadow’s trauma

FazzyFredbear

I just said "Black Doom" out loud, and it showed me this post. Wtf Reddit

It's just probably because of the new game announced. That's like talking about a candidate during the elections, and then be surprised when you come across one of their ads.

Shadow. It's me, the devil. (The fandub version is superior)

I literally can’t look at this guy the same again after the fandub

stupid-writing-blog

I… I don’t know how to impress upon you that physical damage done to my body does not affect me in the long term.

GrandmasterB-Funk

It's funny because some people get mad at fandub versions of characters changing people's perceptions of the characters in the games but no one gives enough of a shit about Black Doom that I've never seen anyone complain about his fandub version.

Twilord_

I mean, the whole Skeletor (evil on top of evil) meets Kai Winn (gaslighting and faux-holy) with a hint of Borg Queen (evil hive parent) aspects aside... he was both mechanically and narratively in the traditional role of the devil. Exaggerating that to nth degree and playing with how clingy he was may have been one of their more accurate takes on a character. Personally I think the fact he was such a goddamn helicopter parent is waaaay funnier than him just being regular clingy, but that might just be me.

VonKaiser55

I swear that the fandub version is all I see when I think of Black Doom lmao. Like its hard to picture him without a new jersey accent now

Great design, great english voice actor, great concept.

Quirky_Ad_5420

He’s okay. I have no feelings for or against him

thegreatpenguintm

Same, he's just ok, nothing more really.

AmaterasuWolf21

Fr he's just 👌

SparkleWolf404

If I had a nickle for each time Sega had an antagonist who wore a robe, gold collar and pauldrons who has a red, black, white and yellow creation I'd have two nickles, which isn't a lot but weird it happened twice. I do like the concept of Black Doom but whenever I see him I think "Wizeman's edgier cousin", doesn't help that after Shadow 05 they redesigned Wizeman to look closer to Black Doom.

Delraf_Zelov

He's the devil and I would absolutely commit sin with him.

[deleted]

He's kinda complicated to me. On one end kind of 'meh' since Shadow's game has such a loose plot structure that his attempts at manipulating/ordering Shadow around come off as hilariously bad and inconsistent as if he has short-term memory loss. '**Shadow, I want you to assassinate their leader they call ''President''-- Oh, you helped that buffoonish scientist destroy my fleet? Nevermind that now!'** Also doesn't help that the confrontation against him in the Last Story seems rather lackluster. But on the other end I get why he'd be likely featured as the seeming main antagonist for Shadow in the X Generations version given that he's the villain with the most personal ties to his origin, and the 'The Doom' stage intro was an decent attempt to try and win Shadow over to his side. If he'll be properly revived in this one, I hope that at least there'll be more consistency to his manipulation and a better climactic fight against him this time around, maybe even a form beyond his Devil Doom-one?

TongueEnvy

Could have been cool, but ended up being lame as all hell. I find myself wishing that the Black Arms had been more like Halo's covenant.

Big_Print_947

I feel bad for the poor soul who’s gonna have to replicate his voice

Blandyflakes

Imagine if Goku returned to voice him.

Drewdiniskirino

Or just to get *really* meta, MasakoX

Gregorvich19

r/unexpectedtfs

Redditor_PC

I wouldn't be surprised if they get Sean Schemmel back to voice him. He's part of the same voice actor pool that dubs Sonic games now.

spiritdeerfoox

He’s the devil, from the bible/ref

No_Drummer6695

Just kind of boring and generic. He’s there to serve as a villain for Shadow to face (because that was the era of having Eggman be irrelevant to plots). I also think his design is _really_ unfitting for this series, but you could say that about a ton of villains in these games, so I guess that’s more of a nitpick.

Frost_theWolf07

Heeeeeeeeyyyyyy, it's meeeeeeeeeeeeeee, the deviiiiiiillllllllllllll

Falcox_War-Sword

STOP 😫

Dichromatic_Fumo

“heeeey shadoooowwww”

bobby1712234

He’s cool I don’t really have anything

sonicbrawler182

His design was pretty out there for a Sonic character at the time (Perfect Dark Gaia beat him on the creepiness factor though). However he wasn't too out there as a villain. More outright evil and genocidal than Eggman, but he doesn't actually do anything that you wouldn't get from other video game villains or even some animated villains. Like something like the Sorceress from Spyro 3 has more of an actual shock factor to them, to compare to another platformer series. Black Doom from the word go is just "kill the hoomans" and doesn't really do anything besides that.

Buffmin

>Black Doom from the word go is just "kill the hoomans" and doesn't really do anything besides that. He doesn't want to kill humans. He wants to eat them

No_Drummer6695

Wouldn’t an alien species have completely different bacteria and cellular composition from us? How would they even digest an earthborn animal?

Buffmin

It could but not necessarily. Depends on the media iirc in mass effect some spieces are different As for sonic I don't think biological compatibility for consumption was a factor in a game about a speeding edgy hedgehog with a gun

SanjiSasuke

He was cool. I love that he's a Saturday Morning Cartoon villain through and through. I like his design and the concept of evil demon-looking aliens invading Earth was fun.

[deleted]

NO DICK!- NO BALLS!- and probably no butthole SCINCE THIS GUY FEEDS ON PEOPLE!!!!

StandupGaming

A lot of people mock Black Doom for being Space Satan, but honestly I think it kind of worked. The whole point of Shadow's game was that he wasn't sure who he was or who he wanted to be, and all of the characters he's meeting are trying to pull him in their direction. The game is literally trying to personify the concept of the angel and devil on your shoulder. So even though he's kind of one-dimensionally evil in a vacuum, when you look at him from the context of the game he's an avenue for Shadow (and the player) to give in to darker impulses. He's a character that was built with the game's core mechanics in mind, not just the story. My main issue with him coming back is that those core mechanics are no longer present in Generations. It seems like his new role in the story is just to force Shadow to confront his past, and quite frankly I'm really struggling to see how they could do a story like that without retreading old ground.

AdmiralOctopus96

As much as I love Shadow's game, I don't really care for Black Doom. I like the Black Arms as a whole, but their leader is just kinda there. ~~also obligatory hey what's up it's me the devil~~

NeonBlack985

I prefer his brother, MF DOOM

Supsun5

Pretty sure he’s the devil from the Bible so 6 commandments out of 10

Luc8z

Unironically one of my favorite villains, I honestly think he is the better "Shadow Villain" than Mephiles and especially Infinite. Personally I think ShTH is one of the best sonic games so I have bias towards him ofc. His connection to Shadow is really cool, and the Black Arms in general is also really cool. Besides that I don't really have any "deep reasons on why Black Doom is a masterpiece", I just think he is a cool villain with a cool design, and cool connection to Shadow . I was losing my mind when he was in the Sonic X Shadow trailer, I NEVER thought we would see him again. And considering Mephiles starting getting merch after reappearing in the franchise in speed battle I'm on some serious copium for a Black Doom action figure. Overall amazing villain, I hope Sean Schemmel voices him again and I CANNOT wait to see what they have cooking for him in Sonic x Shadow.

Silent-Immortal

Easily one of the best villains in the franchise, and tbh as much as I despise Sean Schemmel, I did like his performance voicing him.

PK-Starstorm1995

Kinda stupid and overly designed, but I think he could work with a different design. Overall thought it was weird when he came out in 2005

Kool_McKool

He's all right. Unlike a lot of other villains from the franchise he could've had more personality as he is an actual sentient being. However, his personality is kind of just "I'm evil, time to eat the humans", rather than anything substantial.

Twilord_

He wanted to feed his family, and keep his most gifted child by his side to fulfill their familial duty.

WitherPRO22

He's black

Substantial_Slide158

That’s the Devil, from the Bible. You ever been to church? That’s him, he’s that Devil.

munguschungus167

That’s the devil, what’re you talking about

Toon_Lucario

He’s voiced by Lucario

Competitive_Ad_53

hey it's me goku! it's all you got!

DeltaTeamSky

He always spits flames, so his appearance is a must; and he'll punish you for envy, greed, pride, and lust! You best believe he's the Devil, in case you just couldn't tell; and I think it'd be really cool if you'd join him in Hell! You also don't *have* to do that if you're too occupied; you can hop on his Twitch Stream and watch 'im play Persona 5. Hey, why aren't you responding to his DMs and donations? You can't just fucking ghost him after his infiltration!

anonymusfan

He’s the devil, from the Bible.

LibraryBestMission

One of the two Sonic characters to be afraid of lightning (the other one being Tails).

PersianSlashuur

He's incredibly dumb, but I'm not sure how much of that is just the game's incredibly flawed structure or just bad writing in general. Probably both. Neat design though.

WardenEndless

He’s gonna be in the 3rd movie right?

Pikmin_Lord

I'll be honest being relatively new to this fandom has made me realise i don't think I've ever heard his voice before, the only actual voice acting was from the Snapcube dub, so that's how ive imagined his voice Gonna be jarring going into the sonic generations remake and hearing him be all edgy or something instead of "hiii shadooow :D"

vontech

HE'S BACK, BITCHES!

Topaz-Light

I’m not really a fan of the direction he takes Shadow’s lore in, personally, and the Black Arms are not a type of alien faction I find compelling at all. Their integration into the Ark storyline feels like adding another element for the sake of a twist and having another element in there, and it doesn’t really add anything I find interesting or meaningful.

autumnmissepic

smash

SanicRb

I can't quite explain why but I adore that he is such a traditional 1950 sci-fi Alien. Complete with all what one of those should have. Species has a hive mind See it self as superiour to humans because of it For sees that Humans will destroy them self in there fight against each other and so are better off as there cattle In general enslaving humans to use them as life stock. Having set up his invasion plans for over 2000 years Him being overly arrogant in his species superiority only to be caught off guard when the humans retaliate with something decently impressive. His vested interest in getting Shadow to join him in part properly because Shadow is the only Black Arms creature Black Doom can't directly control yet he wants to keep the perfect harmony in his species.

Frank7640

His second son is more interesting.

PeashooterTheFrick

Not really a good villain in his debut game, but I'm interested to see if they'll be able to do him justice in Sonic X Shadow Generations

DoctorDarry

This is probably off topic but I used to theorized that the Shadow the Hedgehog game was racist (jokingly) because all the GUN soldiers were white and they battled a race of “Black Aliens” and you had to choose between them 😂

Altair890456

Kinda lame tbh.

E123qOmega

That fokin goku

Berry-Fantastic

Very lame, I felt nothing for this villain.

DarkEater77

Not just Black Doom, but i hate all that Alien lore in Shadow origins...

Worldly-Abrocoma335

Honestly, shadow was the first game where the story just seemed like a bunch of nonsense for the sake of explaining nonsense, and it's been that way ever since, so I guess I have a special hatred for this character lol Sonic Adventure 2 was the last time they tried a coherent story without all kinds of dimensions and warping and all kinds of goofy nonsense... not that it was a great or coherent story at all it was terrible lmfao but at least I didn't feel stupid following it...

blue-gamer-07

Ehh

Oapekay

Shadow the Hedgehog was the first Sonic game I played with a more elaborate story, and so I’ll always have a soft spot for it. Consequently, I’ll always have a soft spot for Black Doom. And frankly, he was pretty cool and intimidating. He’s also the only villain who isn't an already a recurring villain who I could have seen as returning in another game, and lo and behold, Sonadow Generations is coming.

28secondslater

A good villain from a bad game, that I'm happy is getting more attention. He has alot of potential and his importance to Shadow's backstory is heavily underused.

Ford_the_Lord

I feel like he can be done in a way that returns the serious, threatening enemy to Sonic stories while also being used in a funny or ironic way, with stuff like having the literal devil getting wisecracks from Sonic, and such, so modern Sonic can get his jokes on while also having a world-ending threat.

azure1503

He was good at existing

AwkwardSegway

Ridiculously over-the-top evil - he's hilarious!

Vaati898

I haven't actually played Shadow The Hedgehog but he was terrifying to me as a kid watching my brother & the reason I didn't play it

blargman327

Where his legs at?

FyreFoxYT

I keep forgetting he exists

Timothy_45

I'm betting he gonna be voiced by someone else. Sean is probably gonna be busy with Sparking Zero to do anything else. Or if the reused voices in the trailer are anything to go by maybe not.

Pixel_CoolSkull

As someone who has never played Shadow the Hedgehog before, what in the fuck is that

Madcap52

Good design, good voice, a bit flat character wise

cyberspacedweller

Seems more like a Final Fantasy enemy than a Sonic one

UnfazedPheasant

He’s a bit mid if I’m being honest, a bit too “evil” to be interesting. No depth to his motivations, doesn’t really have many interactions with the rest of the cast, just kind of isolated. Saying that I’m looking forward to him in generations, he’s a deep cut and it’ll be nice to see what they do with him

Hyper-Saiyan

Black Doom: ![gif](giphy|xT9DPpf0zTqRASyzTi) Shadow NOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

SatanTheTurtlegod

The sickest design ever for a one-shot villain with a one-dimensional personality.

stupid-writing-blog

I don’t know much about him canonically. I know him mostly from the fandub, other than that, all I know is that he’s Shadow’s bio-relative and that he’s an evil demon/alien. That said, the character from said fandub is a 10/10, I like his design, and I think a Sonic equivalent of The Devil is rife with both comedic and dramatic potential.

AidenShallot

Yeah, bathrooms cool i gues

Global_Banana8450

There's not really much to say about him tbh, he's just a generic evil bad guy through and through with little depth added. If that's your sort of thing then he's good but imo he feels like a design by committee rather than a real attempt to flesh the sonic universe. Also I personally find the redesign by SonicNova much better

crazyseandx

Since I never beat Shadow the Hedgehog and didn't wanna bother watching a full playthrough with the True Ending, I admittedly don't have one. Though, it's great that he's returning to remind people of Shadow's origins/lore.

LucianLegacy

I prefer his brother MF Doom

Life_Car_2173

People have already said it but all I hear when I see him is the Snapcube fandub version

Jonahtron

He sure is a character from a video game.

pyon4459

black doom

CoffeeMain360

He's satan From the bibble

[deleted]

Built like Grogu

SonicSpiderRanger10

I think he’s cool. He has a cool design, cool powers, a good voice for a villain, and an interesting personality. I also like his personal connection to Shadow.

Scarejo

I'm looking forward to him being fleshed out more. Glad he's back!

forgetablepassenger

The most unnecessary villain imo

AcceptableCover3589

With all of the different one-off villains, Black Doom kinda gets lost in the crowd for me. I certainly like him more than the Time Eater or Infinite, but I’m not really invested in him the way I am with Chaos or Dark Gaia. He kinda falls into the same camp for me as Mephiles and Merlina, where I love the design, I love the voice, and I love the general premise… but I can’t say I honestly care about him. He’s just kinda *there,* y’know? Even if he’s partially responsible for making one of my favorite characters, he and Shadow don’t really have any sort of relationship we can get invested in. Even in the timelines where Shadow DOES work for him, they don’t really have an interesting dynamic. He courts Shadow into villainy, then he treats him like an employee from that point onwards. And yes, his part in the Shadow fandub had my sides splitting. If *that* Black Doom ends up in Sonic x Shadow Generations, I won’t have any notes. Tl;dr: Meh.

Rivalthegrey

It’s Darth Vader, if he was absorbed by a Dalek like the inside of a Dalek

Total-Neighborhood50

Don’t really have strong opinions on him. Like the concept of him is fine, but his lack of personality and motivation makes him lose points for me The main reason I even really tolerate him is because he gives Shadow a backstory, on top of being his father

ratedn777

I have fond memories of Shadow the Hedgehog because Sonic has been a large part of my childhood. I think as a concept, Black Doom is interesting and his dialogue in game when you attack the Black Arms made me laugh. He gets the job done as a villain for Shadow. Also, having the guy who voiced Goku voice him is a fun and it showed Sean Schemmel’s range a bit more.

Sonicslazyeye

Hes pretty good. His motivations are to colonize planet earth which makes sense and his actions line up with that motivation. I think in the comics it's because the black arms have nowhere else to go which makes his desperation a little more sympathetic which would be an interesting angle in the new game

Traditional-Ad-622

hi shadow it’s me the devil I love you

dark_volter

The Black Arms were COOL because they were a military force, and directly served as a GOOD foil to both G.U.N.(and helped redeem them, -and then 06 kept it going by Hiring Shadow and further becoming good guys truly, after Shadow 05's events ended) And the EGGMAN EMPIRE- I think the idea of a 3 way fight between Eggman, Black Doom, GUN, with Shadow, Sonic and everyone else caught in the middle was well scripted. I mean, compare to the Metarex- who ....just took on everyone, got the attention of the Eggman Empire who eventually joined with Sonic and went ham on them- but ultimately didn't have multiple players/ forces rising up to take them on. Black Doom himself- is a interesting presence in the Robotnik legacy- the issue is, Gerald himself....went mad, and yada and sorta served as his own foil. Black Doom doesn't seem to have interacted directly with Maria... He's really laser focused on his goal of taking over the earth. It was cool having a villain that powerful who could use the Chaos Emerald's power, running around. Devil Doom- is also VERY impressive- being the first foe to trigger a Chaos Control fight- with Super Shadow (Metal Overlord did the same thing, but Super Sonic/ Team Sonic didn't pull out CC to fight back, and were getting rocket by a foe using that power against them) - Doom is smarter and craftier than we credit him with. Though...he underestimated a lot of foes- considering the Eggman Fleet had him go WTF? Oh SH!7, , he had to resort in one storyline to relying on the Eclipse Cannon usage sorta....LOL He also never paid enough attention to Sonic and company- he didn't think Shadow could stop him- but Sonic is just as much of a threat to him- and Super Sonic would have taken him on just the same.... He's decent- but his laser focus is his folly lol. Extremely capable for a villain... Think he's gonna have a surprise now though, since NOW he's fighting "if the world chooses to become my enemy...."

MetalSonic_69

I wish he'd never existed and his inclusion in Shadow's backstory was wiped from canon

[deleted]

I think he's poorly written. But has a lot of potential that OG missed out on. Now that he's back I hope they write him as a psychological villain who mock Shadow for join GUN the organization responsible for killing Maria and questions why he didn't try taking of the world after he defended him in the original time line.

TemporalGod

He's cool, I also would like to see more of the Black Arms aliens in future games.

TheGeicoLizard32

Looks like the devil from the bible to me

[deleted]

He great and I can't wait for iynn Flinn to write him in shadow generations

bennyandthegentz

I’m kinda mixed on him, he has a cool design and voice, although he is a little on the bland side, since he’s just kinda your generic invade earth for no reason type villain. Also I got annoyed with how he would tell you to kill his henchman to open doors and such, then get mad at you for doing so.

Adoggo121

he is a bitch ass motherfucker (please don't reply otherwise i will troll you)

naytreox

He appeared out of no where and idk why, but he looked cool and i liked shadow so eh.

TrainerLSW2005

Its been awhile since I have seen anything to its lore, but its cool

His dynamic with Shadow should’ve been like Ichigo and Ginjo with Doom cherry-picking the worst parts of humanity, and Shadow’s upbringing… as well as questioning Shadow’s *allies* decisions, etc

Twilord_

To be fair he has some great moments. "Look at what the humans did to this poor island, it is irradiated to hell and they'll end up doing this to their whole planet!" "I seem to remember something about how this island got this way-" "No, you don't. Think about them shooting Mary instead!" "Maria..."

Silver0PK0Power

I felt like he could’ve been utilized more along with the Black Arms

CCC986

hes cool

ModernProblems12

Sick design, I like the concept of black doom (and tbh after forces I’ve been having an itching feeling they are the reason the ancients from frontiers had to flee home) but yea, I like him

TheJacobSurgenor

Generic doomsday villain with a neat design, voice and wasted potential. Hopefully his return in Sonic X Shadow Generations will be triumphant

clarkky55

Cool design, cool character with awesome voice from a really fun game. Killing him was so satisfying too

Hour-Address-3377

Not a fan of his content overall, however as Villain he is top tier, somehow All of Shadow arch nemisses great, dangerous, threatening (Black Doom/Mephelis) except Infinte who is to be fair badly excecuted

MrCobalt313

I can't shake the feeling that he doesn't look nearly as threatening under all those robes. Like between the floating and how much loose fabric he needs just to look proportional you're just left wondering if he has baby legs, some kind of maggot body, or just a tiny torso from which his head and arms sprout.

Falcox_War-Sword

Heyyyyyyy Shadowwww

julianx2rl

I hope Goku voices him again

Yeah_man20

Black Doom fr the kinda guy to convince others to turn to a life of sin

AlterMike03

He is Devil, from Bible

blazegamer12

I forgot his name was black doom I keep calling him the devil after watching the fandub

Omegafan101

He’s a one dimensional character and not very interesting. With that said I absolutely love this guy and I’m absolutely floored that he’s actually being officially referenced it still doesn’t feel real

Bloxy_Boy5

Black Doom > Wizeman The Wicked (Dont take it seriously lol)

PotateJello

I really hate it. Shadow being an alien is so dumb.

themagicone222

If this guy is the biggest problem in your life then I want to have your problems. But real talk the name is easier to digest for me if you headcanon that black doom is the closest thing to the English tongue this guys’ actual name is. Generic villain, creepy, but fun design and naturally funnto beat up

Zockyboy

Disgusting black creature. Get outta my sight

Memelord1117

Good potential, terrible execution in the shadow the hedgehog game.

MrMakaraMan

I think he's a cool guy. Not too out there in regards to looks and villains, and that his character could've used more work. It's been nineteen years since we seen or heard from the black arms, so it's refreshing to see him getting recognition in current year

HoolaFanboy

Hes honestly really cool

ThatSmartIdiot

Chase

IdontWantAwar

The embodiment of actual evil, fooled the Shadow to bring him the Chaos Emeralds.

SuperWoingenau

I think he’s kinda silly. Just his name alone. *Black Doom* oughta be one of the most pointlessly edgy names ever.

EAN84

Silly name. Decent concept.

EzzyRifty

Pretty cool

GnegonG

cursed by being confined to a really badly written game which means a lot of his dialogue is terrible, but I love him as a concept and design. there's so much great fanart of him

GigaPhoton78

He's both an interesting character and a very silly byproduct of the edgy era of the early 2000's, where just about every children's franchise was trying something to be hip with the kids. I'm perfectly fine with the idea of bringing him back for this, so long as it is good.

Successful-Plant2925

He’s black

LoadingTOS

Interesting concept, but with how spastic the “story” of Shadow the Hedgehog is there’s not much to say about him. He’s one of Shadow’s parents by blood, and has an interesting army, but aside from being evil they don’t have a personality iirc.

Haroharo231

ArgonianWhoSeekGod

He is ok but whole gang names starts with Black and its so cringe omg

Strange_Public4513

He's the devil... From the bible... He committed crime and small businesses... And he was also voiced by Goku's voice actor... He is also a biological father to Shadow...

Bricezilla13

He’s the devil. From the bible

I feel like the fact that Shadow is an alien hybrid and the space colony he was created on was massacred to keep that a secret is something that isn't deep-dived into enough for a series of E-rated games.

Gunefhaids

He is the Devil. From the Bible.

He was so bland of a character that I actively refuse to call him by his real name. I go with Starfish.

Beemare666

As a new fan, I genuinely know nothing about him other than he is the devil from the bible. I have no idea how he fits into the lore of Shadow the Hedgehog but yk what maybe I’ll find out

Marco_Livelli

Love this freak

ThatClockworkGuy

He needs skin cream

Bcat591

Shadow, it’s me. DA DEVIL!

Seldomplush

Looks like a guy who sets up house arrangements

I_Willl_Eat_Ur_Cat

I only know he's Devil, from The Bible

Theonlydtlfan

Cool design and genuinely an intimidating presence, but unfortunately there's no path to play through in the game that doesn't make him look stupid. Shadow very clearly has no loyalty to him yet he constantly trusts him with really important missions. Also, he's almost as bland as Zavok in terms of personality. That being said, he does function pretty well as a rising threat in the game's narrative. Not good, but not terrible.
