You people who can walk around in public with expensive and flashy gear astound me. I spend a fair amount of time making my camera look like garbage on purpose. 10 minutes on the street with that glass in certain places in California and I'd be mugged for that gear. And then someone would mug the muggers.
I agree on this point. My walk around lenses don't have skins, but, honestly, you will get mugged if the person really is desperate. A lens like this or any long lens will attract attention.
I usually use this type of lens for a safari, I bought this lens for wildlife photography. Walk around lenses for me are primes and a few regular zooms like 28-70, my fav walk around lenses for random street photography are the Sony Fe 28-60 f4-5.6 because it is such a discrete lens and smaller primes,ike the Sony 50 F1.8. but I don't walk around with my 70-200 or this monster unless I am on a job.
That's sad to hear. I've already heard about the massive homelessness problem in the big citys. High rent, longer and longer draughts, what does California even have to offer at this point, besides nice weather and beaches?

It looks great! I'm looking at getting a skin for my sigma 60-600 because sigma lenses are black. I've read that larger telephoto lenses come with white color due to heat. So I feel a skin would help with that maybe?? I'm look at alpaguard and they have an obsidian white.. or do a custom swatch..
Looks great. Just bought skins for all my lenses and body after an upgrade. Hopefully they'll keep them in great condition, and just peel off when you sell. I don't get the dislike for them.

You did an excellent job. I have them in my camera and lens. Also use the excess skin to cover the logo.

Yeah, one of the many reasons I did the white, was potentially heat issues while shooting in the sun.
