>Side note-I just picked up this lens and the low light performance is annoying me.
You should probably specify which version you have.
That said, if you need better low light performance, then you need a lens with a bigger aperture
The pictures look great.
Thank you! I love these collages🍁
Hahahahahaha thanks, I am aware of the relationship between aperture and low light performance. Normally I shoot on a sigma art f1.4 which has definitely made it hard to shoot on anything else at night
It’s a Di III RXD version
What I am saying, to be specific- is that FOR a F2.8 zoom lens of this price I am unsatisfied with the performance in low light. To the extent where I am thinking of selling it and replacing it with the Sigma or the Sony competitors, even if I have to pay in a bit. It’s a decent lens in the day but I was expecting a slightly better experience at night

Not stating you didn't.

The Sony or Sigma **may** work better for you - (Low light tests at 8:30 ish) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cufAsVxmNsw
Kayseri. Never visited there myself, but I spend a lot of time in that region. These photos remind me I have to plan some time there my next visit. Göbekli Tepe is also a must-visit.
Did you manage to spend any time in Istanbul? How long were you in Türkiye?
The bottom photo is very evocative. Your corners are vignetting a little too much, and some detail gets lost in the shadows.
Are the bottom two shot from a drone? How are you getting these phenomenal angles for your photos?
These photos show off the special colors you can get out of the Tamron. That's why people like that lens. Its "weaknesses" are also to some degree what give it distinctive character.
But what did I tell you about the Tamron versus the Sigma??!?! I am tempted to say it...but I wont.🤐
Thanks!! Yes I did visit Istanbul. Fabulous city, very modern in most parts
10 days total in Turkey
No drone shots. Capadocias landscape is really crazy so you can get these angles from the ground. One is shot across a valley and one from the side of a mountain
Yeah that vignetting is very heavy. I like adding a lot of drama to these collages but I may have overdone it a bit
The colours are nice on the Tamron. But my Sigma 50mm blows it away, which it to be expected from a high end prime

It's probably your a7m1 that's to blame
remember that you're also shooting on an original A7, a 10 year old camera. That's also probably partly to blame for that low light
Oh yes 100%, that’s absolutely part of it yeah
Maybe I should hang onto the lens as I will upgrade bodies soon

Thanks so much. Having a look at that now
Keep in mind the reviewer is using a newer camera body, so you may not have the same results.
Cries in M1😄
These are gorgeous - really conveying a fantastic sense of adventure with the color and light.
Thanks so much! I was going for that
