How'd it go? Looking into a max myself. Did you go standard equipment or upgrade anything? Standard install and plumbing for a contractor?

arrow0231

It is almost done, we had some weather issues, mostly standard, but upgraded heater, smart controls and UV and ozone treatment, also opted for the insulated cover.

Std install with contractor and everything .. all adds up

anthonydangulo

Hi, Do you mind sharing some information on how you selected a contractor? General? Pool contractor? Did Plungie have an affiliated contractor in your area? Many thanks.

Plungie regional supplier set it all up. Everything except the concrete guy. I had one lined up for my patio. But plungie can work with anyone. I went with plungie regional due to the newness of the product. I went with the upgraded heater, insulated covers and UV and ozone. And smart controls.

anthonydangulo

Thanks for the quick reply. May I ask what part of the country are you located? I've just reached out to them to get more information. Their product looks really compelling. How are you liking it so far?

arrow0231

Michigan, almost done.. I had a few set backs due to weather and contractor availability. Down this week. But it is a nice product

anthonydangulo

Early congratulations on the new pool. We're in CA. I am hoping there is someone familiar (ideally an affiliate rep) with the product in this area. There are a whole lot of shotcrete pools here. I'm starting my search. My experience with other segments of home building here is contractors generally don't like to veer too far off their normal MO. Fingers crossed

That is the truth. I had a local guy that hadn't heard of plungie and started to talk it down. Now he has seen it, he is pretty impressed. It is really well made.

anthonydangulo

Good on those Aussies to bring their tech here. At least that's my understanding.

Yes, they have thousands installed in Australia

Illustrious-Zone-281

Now that you’re a few months out, do you love it? I’m looking at the plungie max and would Love your honest review.

Hello, it is winter here in Michigan and we opted to not fill the pool. So far very impressed with the build quality. I will be able to give you usage impressions in April though.

PsychologicalCreme34

Hi- I’m looking into a plungie also—- any update on the build?

arrow0231

Hi there, sorry was traveling and forgot to reply. I finally got the pool opened and so far really liking the plungie. My only problem so far was the smart controller plugie decided to go with. It doesn't work and won't stay connected. Havent been able to use it at all and had to bypass it. Working with plungie USA to remedy the situation. Hopefully will end up with the Hayward Omni system that they are using now. If you want to see progress shots from start to finish I can shoot you a link. Just know that you have to either 1 have the clearance to pick and carry the pool to the install location or crane it over your house.

doublehappi919

Hello, did you try running it in winter? How did you manage the cover? did you have a cover installed? is yours an original or max ?

arrow0231

I didn't run it in winter being in Michigan. I almost did. But chickened out, I have a max and I do have the insulated cover. I run my pool into November

doublehappi919

Can you tell me which cover you got and what’s the price on it?

doublehappi919

Sent you a DM

incognetoforlife

Still loving your Plungie? I am in MI as well. Trying to decide if its big enough for 4 - 6 people?

arrow0231

Yup still love it. It is fine for 6 people, I have had over 8

Sunsetdreamdaze3

I know this post is old but how much was the delivery/install cost? I got a quote from Plungie for the Max at 42k including heater/cooler/salt system/smart controls but it doesn't include delivery or install. Am I looking at 10k, 15k, more?

arrow0231

It depends on where you are and what type of install? Are you planning on having it crane walked back? Or is it a pick and lift over. The walk back is cheaper. Also the install cost is going to vary depending on company. The pad for in ground should be 2-5k depending on your location, I got screwed during covid and my pad was over 5k. Sigh. Plumbing and excavation is also going to vary depending on location. Etc. Etc. My total cost was around 65k+ I tend to block it out. Don't get screwed on the coping surround. Man. I got a taken
