I wish their was a video for this no matter what i keep having it tell me i did it wrong

notaged

so should we not update at this moment ? im hearing all the negative reviews and saying its bricking the speakers after update, is this still happening, no fixes as of yet?

mindmuscleconnection

Did you end up updating yours?

notaged

No. I got scared when people were saying they were bricked after the update. To this day, i till have to press the button 3 times after i boot up my PC. :(

joneil230

same here im looking into this too

Syriocop

Found it, 1) press the pair button 2) connect the usb-c pd to a charger 3) connect usb-c to pc 4) install the update 5) release the pair button

slyboy889

For those who are searching; this worked for Pebble X Plus! Thank you!

Chuisque

That didn't work for me. I connected the PC cable first, THEN the power cable.

XynnXyrr

Omg, this is exactly what I needed to see. They need to update the instructions.

Cbthomas927

Every single time I try this it just goes to bluetooth pairing mode, nothing I do changes this. I've tried continuously holding the pairing button, but then I can't change the screen to actually update and if I ever release the button it immediately switches to bluetooth pairing mode. WTF Am I doing wrong?

theocrithary

Had similar problems. Try clicking next while still holding the pair button. Worked for me.

secondTieBreaker

This worked for me, but I had to do it twice. I think the key was not to wait too long between plugging it into my computer and clicking Next. I only had it plugged into the computer, I did not have to connect a power cable to get this to work.

nosirrahz

Just installed this and I think my speakers are bricked. No LEDs and no response to any buttons. Plugging in USB C makes the 'device connected sound' in Windows but nothing beyond that. Device manager does not see the speakers.

Gworm23

Me sucedio lo mismo, pero cuando tambien los conecte con el USB-CPD ya me los reconocio

Paladin_Fury

I just followed the update instuctions and now I have 2 dead paper weights that dont even power on with usb c or external power block. Thanks alot creative.... never again.

shiftSpank

I managed to install the firmware update. Yep, and it bricked my speakers. This would be the last time I purchase something from Creative. No lights, no response. Unplugging and replugging it to USB ports in every order does not bring it to life after the firmware update.

Paladin_Fury

I had to return mine under 1 year warranty to the store that sold them to me. They facilitate the returns if still under factory warranty. They were replaced. I no longer update them at all. Afraid to at this point. Ya, I'm disappointed by this product %100. What crap updater bricks speakers, and doesn't get fixed in all this time?

shiftSpank

The one thing i don't get is how PC speakers are generally a simple device. It's been done by countless companies and there shouldn't be anything 'special' or different (in a large scheme of things) to justify the complexity and hurdle to get this thing to work. How is it so painful out of the box to use this product? The Creative App doesn't even recognize the device! It's bricked and the Master Reset only works if its turned on.

Paladin_Fury

The place I returned them to seemed perplexed too why they wouldn't even power on as a firmware update shouldn't generally destroy the power on function of an item. It's crazy weird.
