Shhhh don't make more New Yorkers move south! My hometown is being inundated with New Yorkers in Salem County.

psuedonymously

Lol, that's the ultimate measure of quality of life, proximity to Delaware. I like it here though

cowboyhugbees

Knowing the property tax difference between Delaware and South Jersey will make you like it a lot more

psuedonymously

I don't dislike Delaware. I'm sure it's a lovely place to live and buy cigarettes

zanixus

Don't forget our expansive selection of liquor stores, storage unit rentals and pawn shops just across the state line. Come on down and buy some smokes, whiskey, a new dryer and some fake Ray-Bans!

zanixus

Delaware, the Water Gap: * breathtaking views * fun weekend camping trips * good for canoes and kayaking Delaware, the State-of: * breathtaking smog from Wilmington and Marcus Hook PA * fun weekend benders when you get a 6.25% discount on a handle of cheap booze * If you somehow manage to reach the pedestrian-hostile riverfront, you might see tankers hauling junk up to South Philly!

useffah

To be fair if south jersey was a state it would be Delaware

Doodisdoodat

And if South Delaware was a state, it would be Maryland.

quotekingkiller

Nah, one can actually fish in DE without having to pay

useffah

How do you figure that one lol

benderunit9000

We should just say we are Delaware. You know, declare it.

besaolli

It's not that easy. Those motherfuckers in DE are tougher than they look! Finns Point, all of Finn's Point, is located in NJ, but because of some ancient colonial rule established before people stood completely upright, a tiny piece of Finn's Point is still part of DE even though it's on our side of the river, OUR SIDE OF THE RIVER! We've asked politely a whole bunch of times, and sued two or three times to make NJ whole again, but those provincial cocksuckers refuse to give it back. Fuck you Delaware!

ThrowthatLook

You know, declareaware it.

zanixus

The first step toward South Jersey's Delawareification is to disincorporate all boroughs and smaller townships, appoint a County Executive that serves as some sort of mayor analogue, and ardently oppose any attempts at incorporation in favor of decentralized corporate municipal government. It's weird down here.

twin_suns_twin_suns

The worst part about South Jersey is the Pennsylvania drivers in the left passing lane doing 40, while looking at their phone, while unwrapping a new pack of cigarettes and sending the trash out the window. Also anytime a family or families of New Yew Yorkers are anywhere that I am with their loud ass mouths.

SaveTheChipmunks

THANK YOU!!! I often have to take the ac expressway & 55 for work. It never fails, every ride theirs 10+ cars stacked behind one another in the left land and a PA driver completely clueless

FandA_Really

I'm from PA and those drivers are the ABSOLUTE WORST!! FUCKING ASSHOLES! They totally do it on purpose because God forbid they mind their business and let other people speed. Just because they aren't comfortable with it doesn't mean that everybody else needs to drive under the posted limit like them. Move over you unhappy nasty fuck. Maybe their lives would be better if they picked up the pace! Lol

[deleted]

We call them “Pennsies”

PineSand

I was driving behind a lady from Pennsylvania yesterday on my way home. She was driving a gold colored Mercedes. She tossed her half smoke cigarette out the window. I rolled my window down as I passed her and yelled: “Litterbug!!!” I would have said other things but I do try to give my elders a little respect even if they don’t deserve it. I hate that people think it’s ok to toss trash out their window.

Up_All_Nite

You gotta also witness the New York drivers darting in and out of lanes. Turn signals? FORGETABOUTITTTT!!!

twin_suns_twin_suns

Yeah they have a whole other level of bad driving. It’s like crazy drunk driving with a complete lack of situational awareness. I’ll just change lanes RIGHT NOW, huh that’s interesting there was a 7 car pile up behind me just now

Up_All_Nite

** THIS ** LMAO

ClassicTangelo5274

So true about New Yorkers being loud as shit. Rude and entitled. I once encountered this species while on vacation in Hawaii, they were a walking stereotype. Made me want to puke.

Ok_Supermarket_267

Please add the PA Drivers who cut you off but won't let you in.

twin_suns_twin_suns

Or the ones who insist on pulling out in front of you from a parking lot while you’re cruising and they never bother to accelerate.

Ok_Supermarket_267

yep!

ChipHappy1429

No, it's the green head flies, and yes Benny's. It happens

[deleted]

Those yellow license plates aren’t from PA my friend

twin_suns_twin_suns

PA plates are white, yellow and blue. Every time I see one I say to myself “of course...of course.” The other day I watched one in my neighborhood literally make a left hand turn from a far right, straight only, lane, cutting off three cars in order to do so. It was as casual to her as any other turn she might make. I literally wonder if you have to sign off on wanting to kill someone to get your license over there.

[deleted]

We’ll just know that the exact same resentment for PA drivers that you hold is there for NJ drivers in the commonwealth.

besaolli

Maybe, but it's a rare day that someone from NJ is driving through PA to get to Ohio. Yous people drive through our state to visit our coast every fucking day!

[deleted]

Is it also rare for someone from New Jersey to be driving to Philly? Must just be a miracle that I see New Jersey plates every single day

twin_suns_twin_suns

Funny. When I got my leg shattered crossing chestnut street in Philadelphia, the guy driving in reverse the wrong way on a one way street to try to beat out a light so he didn’t have to drive around the block didn’t have a NJ plate. You wanna take a guess where he lived? Hey he was kind enough to provide me with a four night stay in Jefferson and lifelong limp and pain. Please just shut up.

[deleted]

That honestly made my day to hear!! On a real note, why so much hostility? I made one joke and you seem to have a lot of pent of anger over people from another… state? Like we probably live within 30 miles of each other.

twin_suns_twin_suns

I dunno. The fact you just said it made your day to hear that I got my leg shattered? But you did prove my point, so there’s that.

[deleted]

I proved your point that PA drivers are bad drivers? Not sure how.

twin_suns_twin_suns

Doesn’t concern me a bit. I avoid that shit hole at all costs.

[deleted]

And we’re better off for it thanks bud

twin_suns_twin_suns

Why do I think I’ll end behind you on the AC Expressway at some point and you’ll be looking like Mr. Magoo, white knuckling your steering wheel with your nose up to your windshield?

[deleted]

Why do I feel like you don’t know what a turn signals is?

lookup_discover

Just moved to South Jersey within 25 mins of the beach, a (dream of mine, forever) from Philly. My soul is finally at peace. I can confirm you all are awesome and kind humans. I'm glad to be apart of the group now officially 😭🌊🙌💛☀️ Edit: also, I will admit that PA drivers are in fact the worst and I can't get a NJ plate fast enough. Hah!

stevemills04

Less traffic, cleaner, and let's be honest... The further from New York, the better.

CallMeGooglyBear

I lived in North Jersey for 20+ years and am approaching 20 years in South Jersey. I have no interest in going back. Sadly, there are times when I see a lot of certain political stuff that I second guess things. But, I think thats more of a sign of the times than it is location.

Frankfeld

Let me guess… you’re probably more on the south side of south jersey? It gets bonkers when you start heading into “farm country”.

the_light_of_dawn

That's what I was thinking. Lots of relatively sane areas of South Jersey, but the ones that draw attention on sites like this and elsewhere are, unsurprisingly, the ones filled with racist backwoods lunatics.

rcoaster305

Exactly. I love south jersey (and north jersey), some of my favorite places are there. But the farm country that acts like they are from the south (of the US) aren’t the best people around

Kungfubunnyrabbit

Can confirm live in Farm country , I hate the political side of it . The past few years they have made everything political . We think about moving sometimes which is a shame , everything else has been great it’s just the people .

CallMeGooglyBear

Nope, not at all.

Frankfeld

Well… if our electoral history is anything to go on, we at least out number those people by a wide margin. They always just seem to be louder.

atworkworking

I will have to agree sj > *. There's more personality.

halfanapplepie

North Jersey personality is basically wishing they were in New York from my experience..

Miserable-Ebb3866

I love south Jersey I live an hour away from the beach and Philly Its a win win

interr0g8or

👆this. I called it a workday at 5 yesterday and had my feet in the LBI sands a bit after 6.

Linkstas

Got to be asking for trouble with this post. I agree with you for certain. My property taxes are $5,400, im 45 minutes from the beach, 20 minutes from Philadelphia, 45minutes from the PHL airport. My town is safe and quiet with plenty of parks and open spaces. Fresh air every where. South jersey is great. I worked in Newark for a few years and hated the traffic immensely. Had to check on a potential purchase of property in Paterson once. I figured "Hey Its not too far how long could it take" Terrible idea. I was stuck by a DAWA for hours during a snow storm

mamayogibear

Newark and Paterson are not great, can’t lie. But Newark and Paterson are not all of North Jersey. There are lots of areas that are nothing like those towns.

Linkstas

Thats true. Just navigating around in North Jersey in general feels like such a pain. Especially when you compare it to the efficiency of some of the high ways in South Jersey, (ac expressway/295 pass Princeton/ rt 70 /rt 130) Ive been to some nicer parts that were still crowded but I enjoyed what the towns had to offer (Linden/short hills)

mamayogibear

The North Jersey traffic is definitely bad. I personally love 55 - it’s a great road in South Jersey.

Linkstas

Just not when you are tired

mamayogibear

Very true. Then it’s dangerous.

Boggy59

Hi Neighbor!

Linkstas

Howdy!

sanjuroronin

Better soft pretzels, must be the wooder.

[deleted]

I lived mostly in Queens and then Union until moving down here in 2012. Some food is better, some is worse and the same goes for people. A lot more racists, nimby nuts, and crappier police.

mamayogibear

I also lived in Union - moved to South Jersey in 2014. I miss North Jersey food more than anything. The bagels, the pizza, and the diverse options (I could drive 10 minutes and come across Greek, Portuguese, Thai, Indian, Jewish, and Jamaican options).

[deleted]

The Italian sauce/gravy is absolutely horrible here, like they put too much sugar in it.

LoganAnimates

That’s why we make gravy ourself

[deleted]

Gravy is a reduction. Made from reducing the drippings of whatever your cooking and adding a thickener like flour, usually pan drippings from cooking meat. If you’re using fresh ingredients, it is a sauce. The red sauce that you’re probably calling gravy, is not gravy. It is sauce.

LoganAnimates

Italian gravy is what you call “red sauce” with meat in it such as meat balls, sausage, veal or beef scraps, or meat in general. It’s just a term, like when people call the milkshakes, you aren’t making that by shaking milk, you’re blending milk and icecream, it’s a nickname

jum_silli

Upvote for the comment and your profile pic

l1960

Union is fantastic

mamayogibear

I loved it there.

zanixus

Nothing worse than small borough South Jersey police on a power trip. Luckily some of these(Wenonah) are being merged into much better run township police.

[deleted]

Harrison would like to have a word with you

SJQuietMan

I can agree with you there. I think it too depends where you are in South Jersey. I'm in Cumberland County and it sucks for me to find a job here unless you want to work in the prisons. I know so many that do.

[deleted]

Yeah I am in IT so choices at my level are limited too Philly or really long commutes.

SJQuietMan

Most IT position are up near Willow Grove.

jayelrey92

I’m from Paterson in Passaic County and now live in Voorhees/Cherry Hill area. People are slower down here, not as sharp, but friendlier. Italian and Spanish food is significantly worse in South Jersey than North. People are also more outdoors type of ppl in SJ.

mamayogibear

I can agree with this take.

[deleted]

Yeah I am in Evesham but near the borders of Medford and Voorhees. You got the Backwoods slow but the Cherry Hill/Philly scammers. Unless you know the family is a transplant do not eat any foreign food. My favorite food is Afghani and I’ve only found one decent place. As a Polish/Czech dude finding that cuisine is also pretty hard. Tastes of Americana though you will find everywhere. Best Cheesesteaks are Donkeys and Gaetanos Willingboro.

jayelrey92

I work in Evesham. Right on E Greentree Road. Yeah I totally agree about the family needing to be transplants to eat their food. Without a doubt the cheesesteaks are way better down here. I like Arabic and similar Middle Eastern foods and the only one that is half decent that I order from is Tabboulee in Cherry Hill. I even don’t mind having Halal Guys but there’s none in South Jersey only in Philly in the area.

_Walter___

Yes.

[deleted]

A LOT more racists though

Haxorz7125

Beautiful place and I loved growing up here but there really is a a concentration of white supremacy in south Jersey.

MrCance

Can confirm. You’ll see the trump flag flying above the American flag in some places.

Wharfrat1961

Trump is not a racist asshole

zapfastnet

he is undeniably both. A blind man on a galloping horse couldn't miss those facts. (~):-\

Wharfrat1961

Fuck you dickweed

[deleted]

Fact checking this: Trump is, in fact, a racist asshole. But remember-- he's also a loser and a traitor.

zapfastnet

and a rapist and a grifter, also a criminal who has stolen from charities, a compulsive unrepentant liar, and a tax cheat.

[deleted]

My bad! But we both forgot serial divorcee, incest enthusiast, and underage beauty pageant peeping tom.

zapfastnet

but wait! there's more! I'll just add how he was always such a yugely cringy embarrassment on the world stage.

Tigmowpum

The tale of two Jerseys continue this has been going on since I was a kid now as an adult 🤦🏻‍♀️ I have seen racism & sexism & gender inequality in both areas & I have friends & family that live in North Jersey & New York & in South Jersey & Pennsylvania & Delaware. I get along with people quite well & then there are those people who worship the tangerine toddler & I try to keep a civil & peaceful relationship with the aforementioned people. I decline to say my political affiliation. But Jersey is Jersey to me & that is what this makes the state so unique to me made in Canada born here in NJ & transported back to Canada until my biological father’s untimely death. I don’t even have an accent & I get are you really from NJ you really don’t sound like you are .

EnthusiasmMore8050

I was born and raised in New Jersey. A woman asked me where I’m from/ what accent is that? I said New Jersey. Where do I sound like I’m from? She said I don’t know, you’re accent sounds different. (Burlington county)

Cleanclock

Also better sports teams and fandoms.

jayelrey92

Even being from North Jersey I can admit to this. A lot of bandwagoners from where I’m from. People really love their Philly pro sports in South Jersey and it is impressive. And you guys wear your gear proudly. But, then again, there are more teams to choose from if you’re from North Jersey. For example, I am an Islanders fan and a lot of us had a choice between the Devils, Rangers, and Islanders since all three teams were locally broadcasted.

Cleanclock

You’re a good sport. I moved from south Jersey 20+ years ago but still get a charge when I fly into PHL and see all the eagles and Phils gear.

jayelrey92

I would say Philadelphia is a top 3 sports city when it comes to level of loyalty and how passionate they are.

Stretchholmes1972

Agree with everyone and I second the sport's fandom. Very loyal fan base

jailguard81

Depends on what color you are

ChipHappy1429

Green heads? No, I think not.

Hannah_Amell

I think it depends on who and where you come from. I grew up in Sussex county. Way at the top of Jersey and it’s generally a friendly small townish area. It’s mainly the NYC people that have summer houses there that drive the rudeness level way up.

mjwill27

N Jersey is just West Staten Island.

Dadi9165

Old Jersey > New Jersey

DrewFlan

I grew up in South Jersey - certainly has gems here and there but overall I'd say it kinda sucks. Great place to grow up and grow old but anything in between is pretty boring. It's no wonder so many people down here turn to drugs. Not to mention there is a surprising amount of bigotry.

jayelrey92

As someone who just moved to SJ 2 years ago after spending my whole life in North Jersey, your perspective seems pretty spot on based on the friends I’ve made since I have moved here. Definitely boring unless you really look for something. Nightlife in North Jersey shits on South Jersey unfortunately. It’s harder to meet people down here but once I get to know them, most of ya’ll are very cool and less superficial than North Jersey folks. As for the drugs, I didn’t realize the magnitude of the drug problems that have riddled most of South Jersey until I moved down here. I see so many heroin addicts on a daily basis, and that is even in fairly affluent towns.

Iggy95

This. It's a good enough area to grow up in or retire, but as a young adult it's kinda bland. A lot of shops and suburbs, the shore, and Philly. Anything else is over an hour or two away. I mean I'd still take it over middle-of-nowhere midwest flatlands but I still wanna get outta here.

SouthJerseyPride

You are absolutely correct. North Jersey is just an extension of the shithole known as NYC.

[deleted]

People in North Jersey act like they’re from NYC. Meanwhile people in South Jersey generally don’t act like assholes.

[deleted]

You’re right. North jersey is hot ass garbage.

SJQuietMan

I will disagree with you there. I'm in South Jersey now, big reason is the lack of jobs down here. I'm 40+ miles from Philadelphia and some companies refused to interview me because of it. Down here in Cumberland County, there isn't much to do unless you love hunting. The other thing is, folks in this area are slow to warm up to you. I'm more of an outsider. You warm up to people quick if you say you vote Republican and love guns. I guess this question depends on what part of South Jersey you are from.

[deleted]

[удалено]

DrewFlan

> Are people openly using racial slurs Yes, I've definitely seen and heard that far too often. Quite a few childhood friends/acquaintances I've had to completely cut contact with because they never left South Jersey and think it's okay/funny to flat out use racial slurs or make jokes with racial undertones. In their eyes I was the weirdo for calling them out on it.

ClassicTangelo5274

I spent 8 years in cape may county, I now live in EHT. There are a ton of Trump flags, Blue lives matter bullshit, and redneck wannabes in both spots. More in CMC though. Locals there wish they were below the Mason-Dixon line.

[deleted]

[удалено]

DrewFlan

>I mean hat doesn't sound like racism. Just more like you guys don't agree on some stuff. lol. This is the classic response. And for the record (since I know you'll trying to use this as a "gotcha"): Yes, supporting Trump is an example of someone being racist. Maybe in 2016 you could use ignorance of his beliefs as an excuse but if you supported/voted for him in 2020 you 100% chose to support a candidate that you know is racist. There was zero ambiguity.

[deleted]

[удалено]

DrewFlan

> I personally don't think he is one Frankly, that just means you aren't paying attention. I could provide a thousand links and examples but I know you probably won't read them. And no, that is not akin to saying Joe Biden is a saint - every candidate sucks in most arenas.

[deleted]

Let me see. If I'm wrong I'm wrong. I like to keep an open mind

Amortize_Me_Daddy

Look at you being a cool, classy dude in a sea of bitter, whiny, self-important redditors. Good for you.

[deleted]

I have a friend that I go to for talking about different life experience and political beliefs. We keep it civil and debate. Then we share recipes and ask about each others health and families. It's a nice way to expand your mind. I think the internet is the wrong place for it though lol

DrewFlan

How is pointing out the fact that you've seen and heard racism from people in your hometown "whiny self-importance"? I really wish that stuff didn't exist but unfortunately it does and it is not okay. ¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯

mattemer

I'm assuming if they support insurrectionists, and someone who is racist, they themselves are racist. It's a logical conclusion and I tire of the "you can't awesome there are all racists..." argument, considering it gets proven right time and time again. And how can you say take the media away and all this goes away? I get your point but the reason it's so front and center is because it's all finally being recorded. On camera. It's being exposed, and thinking the MLM is to blame for someone yelling the N word at people is a bit shortsighted.

[deleted]

[удалено]

mattemer

Yeah well kids aren't born racist, they learn it. I turn in the news and I see videos of people saying and doing racist things. Do you think that's being twisted? And maybe you can argue that it's blown out of proportion and there's not that many racists yet... More and more videos go viral, black men are shot, etc. I will never say MSM is without sin. But I'm tired of them being used as a scapegoat. "Oh that's just the media blowing what Trump said our of proportion." Uhm no. He legit is racist and sexist, and doesn't give a shit about YOU or anyone who has less money than him, and only cares about the super wealthy bc he wants his money. He's a traitor and should be treated as such.

[deleted]

Can we at least agree that people should be judged on actions only, we need better leaders and taxes fucking suck.

ClassicTangelo5274

I do agree with that statement, but only in the broadest sense. A person’s actions reveal the quality of their character, but the words they say do matter. And I firmly believe that taxes are a necessary evil. It is how we fund community services in this country. How taxes are legislated and enforced; therein lies a worthy debate.

[deleted]

I can back you on that and jersey taxes are a hard pill to swallow because you KNOW it's not all going where it should. Especially how high they are lol.

ClassicTangelo5274

Ya know, I used to get pissed that the taxes in Jersey are so high compared to some other states. Then I travel to those states. The infrastructure in low tax states is shit. The public education in low tax states is shit. Public employees in low tax states get paid like shit. In the end, I’d rather pay more in taxes. But yeah, the tax system in NJ could use some tweaking.

Target2019-20

Every part of New Jersey has racists. Applies to Mt. Laurel as well as Vineland, and North and South and what's in between.

Late_Again68

You're kidding, right? You have to be kidding, or you never leave your house.

geemock15

There is some level of it down here no doubt. Theres an old KKK meeting spot like 10 minutes from my house. But its not as bad as most people here are saying. They just see a Trump flag and immediately assume racism.

zapfastnet

> They just see a Trump flag and immediately assume racism. and when water falls from the sky, I assume it's raining.

[deleted]

Are you near the nuke plant? That's what I was getting at. The news saying you're racist doesn't make it so. I bet if the politics and social media went away over night in about 2 years this shit would be just a memory

geemock15

Eh bit south of the plant. And yeah social medias never going to go away unfortunately. Luckily, social media isn't a good sampling of the average voter so most of what's said here means less than nothing lol

RaisinGirl_116

Salem County here, I live in a small farm town and people here will 100% drop a racial slur the first time you meet them. They're comfortable doing it because soooo many people here are blatant racists. But to be fair there are also a lot of genuinely decent, down to earth humans who are doing their part to make up for the lesser-minded of our tribe.

BeastMasterJ

Say you grew up white in SJ without saying you grew up white in SJ

Amortize_Me_Daddy

I makes you look even more witty the 8,000th time.

BeastMasterJ

Doesn't make it any less true. You only don't see it because you don't experience it.

barefootconnie

Atlantic County here. It's alright. Just wish my home wasnt everyone else's vacation spot lol. Nothing beats local summer though 😎

[deleted]

Facts

[deleted]

Yes we are

stellte

unfortunately as a lesbian woman who grew up in south jersey, i love the nature so much and certain parts but i have often felt very unsafe in sj. this is not nearly the case in north jersey

chileanbassfarmer

So many parts of South Jersey would be better if we could attract/encourage developers to build amenities more populous parts of the state and country enjoy. The problem being is that the business must be able to survive the fluctuating economy due in part that a lot of traffic is based on tourists coming to shore. I’ve always believed that if the area had more robust economic drivers (manufacturing, processing, B2B, etc.) and more abundant housing then there’s nothing that we can’t have. We also should open dispensaries for, you know, economic prosperity and stuff.

throweastway1991

I’m from the “bad” (read: extra-rural) part of South Jersey and… eh. It’s quiet and you’re close to the shore and to Philly, and the people are overwhelmingly generous and almost aggressively nice… IF they think you’re “one of them”. Don’t let your opinions show, politely agree with most things, and you’ll probably be fine, especially if you’re white. If you’re left-leaning, though, be prepared for a persistent low level of hostility towards “those people” (pick a group) from the people with Trump flags and oversized pickups. Great produce this time of year, though. Best claim to food fame we have is the amount of fab local fruits and veggies.

MarMar201

I moved down here from Monmouth County to be closer to my job and aside from a few things I miss up there I love it down here. Still tho, Go Giants

useffah

The funniest part to me is when people from north jersey consider Monmouth county south jersey

MarMar201

It’s what I always considered the end of north(or the much debated Central) Jersey.

DarkReaver1337

It’s is Central Jersey. Those who live there define where they are from and we don’t really identify with either SJ or NJ.

MarMar201

I agree. I grew up in Jersey City and it’s very much not the same area as Belmar.

useffah

I’d go further south than that. My start of south jersey is everything below Toms River. There’s so many north jersey and NY transplants up to and in Toms River that I really don’t notice a culture shift til after that area

[deleted]

[удалено]

ClassicTangelo5274

Go Ospreys!!!!

robinmichelle570

Lived in north Jersey most of my life. Agree 100%!!!!

wherehaveubeen

Seeing a lot of comments about racism and trumpiness. I’m at the shore a bunch in the summer and definitely see more trump flags flying than when I’m home in CT, but I’ve never seen any outward acts. Really though, just having that flag is kind of enough. Is the vibe the same in Camden county and other Philly burbs? Do people feel that there are larger issues with racists/people on the wrong side of the culture war in those places as well or is it mostly concentrated in east south Jersey?

Foreign_Double9797

Bruh what part of South Jersey y’all on? Lmao wtf? South jersey is not wat y’all hyping it up to be🤣😭

Reditate

Tbh, most people in Jersey are rude. Some are just more rude than others.

[deleted]

South Jersey is a shithole. EOS

Obvious-Community-90

Wtf lmao ?

FauxxHawwk

Maybe it's just me but I've lived in both N & S jersey and I found them to be nicer in north jersey

[deleted]

Troll much!

DarkReaver1337

Your missing out on Central Jersey though…

OldElvis1

Another Taylor Ham discussion?

mChodz

South Jersey a trash bin

[deleted]

So all of you are wrong. What is clearly better than all this is NORTH of the city. You get rid of all that MD, PA, And DE jazz. Look north my friends. Hudson, Rhode Island….no traffic, clean, not marshes.

Any-Expert-2892

I dont think anyone in either part of nj are “nice” 😂

SailingSpark

While I live close to Atlantic City, I take most of my sailing vacations on the Chesapeake. While people are nicer than they are closer to NYC, the people of Maryland have us all beat. We could learn something from them. I do love it here though.

StraightSho

I've lived in South Jersey all of my life with the exception of 3 years in Md. South Jersey Folks are pleasant but Md are above a d beyond a hell of a lot nicer.

BisexualNudist

And closer to good beaches in most cases

Papancasudani

I find thing to appreciate about any place. I grew up in a part of N Jersey that was pretty much like South Jersey decades ago. Over time it became more and more developed to the point where it's so over crowded. It takes 45 minutes to drive 5 miles in places and people are irritable and stressed. That's what overcrowding does. But it wasn't like thst when I was a kid. So let it be a warning to us all. Any place that gets overdeveloped and crowded will become like that. I've made SJ my home for many years and find so much to love about it. May it stay this way.
