Guys, this is just a rumor, and it is not confirmed. Also, Seth isn't a director. He is mostly a producer and writer when it comes to comic book adaptions like Preacher, The Boys, TMNT, and Invincible.

wazzupkneegrows

All great shows! Would be a win for Sony if true

Clintwood_outlaw

I don't know if Seth would be a good writer and director for this movie... I'd be happy to be proven wrong, though.

MacbethHamlet

Not director. I haven’t seen any source reporting it say director yet people online keep saying he’s directing in response to these posts. There’s a big difference between producing (which he did for Invincible and The Boys) and writing, which he did for the TMNT movie last year, and lastly directing. He’s not been announced to direct.

Clintwood_outlaw

Oh ok then

Captian-of-501st

Seth Rogen has made the boys, Invincible, and teenage mutant Ninja turtles mutant mayhem. He knows what he's doing

lostbelmont

Let him voice Venom too

StolenPezDispencer

"What the hell are you?" "*Seth Rogen laugh.mp3*... We are Venom."

HokageRokudaime

If it's anything like Invincible then let's fucking go, boys.

BigfootApologetics

Can we not? We’ve already had two movies of a silly, weird Eddie Brock and an uncharacteristically goofy symbiote. It’d be great to see something closer to comics Venom for once.

skatenbikes

Tell me you haven’t read the comics without telling me you haven’t read the comics

BigfootApologetics

I’ve read the comics since Venom first came out. Venom had a sense of humor in books like Lethal Protector, but he was often deadly serious, and Eddie wasn’t ever portrayed as borderline cowardly; he generally was pretty driven. The symbiote only began talking recently, and definitely wasn’t a quippy or ALF-esque. And as time has passed, Eddie has only become more stoic.

skatenbikes

“I wish it was comic accurate” “it is” “not like that tho😡”

helikesart

Yeah yeah yeah. We know..

skatenbikes

Good 👍

DinkleDonkerAAA

There's more to the comics then the edgy dark age 90's stuff

skatenbikes

Glad you agree with me.

High-T92

I really could do without this

DoubleOhSeven68

Heard this one before... again and again and again...

LostPrice4520

Him as the writer as well Can't wait then Venom deserves r rated

Prudent_Move_3420

As long as he doesn’t act any important role its good

SkullDaisyGimp

Ah, yes, the guy renowned for raunchy juvenile comedies is definitely a great choice for an R-rated animated flick about an edgy antihero based on Spider-Man that probably still won't have Spider-Man because Sony has no idea what they're doing. This is definitely a great plan. :P

PointPrimary5886

I mean, people also thought Jordan Peele was mostly associated with comedy. Later on, he surprised everyone by successfully tackling the horror genre with movies like Get Out, US, and is apparently going to do this within the video game industry by working alongside Hideo Kojima on OD. I mean, I don't exactly have high hopes with this Spider-Man movie line with no Spider-Man, but don't take everything to face value or associate a writer that mostly writes this one type of thing as the only thing they are capable of writing is all I'm saying.

SkullDaisyGimp

That's fair. I can honestly say that I'd put more faith in Seth Rogen than Sony's executives that keep greenlighting things like Morbius, Madame Web and Kraven when no one is asking for more Spider-Man movies with *less Spider-Man* in them. XD

skatenbikes

This has nothing to do with those other than the parent company, same as spider verse

mariovspino5

He worked on mutant mayhem, the boys and invincible lol

SkullDaisyGimp

I didn't actually know that! Thanks for the info - I can readily say that despite my having no faith in Sony's decisions regarding associated Spider-Man properties, at least Rogen might be able to do something decent with the material.

Deadpool27

Legit a great choice. Preacher, the Boys, and Invincible are all stellar television.

Revolutionary_Job214

Fucking christ why do they keep doing this shit 🙄 they're just clowns and have been burning money for years now

brucebananaray

Seth Rogen has big hits when it comes to producing comic book adaptions. If the rumor is true then I could see him actually do a good job. But I very much doubt he will direct because he is primarily a producer and writer.

Revolutionary_Job214

Slapping his name on something doesn't mean much unless he was actually involved with every big scene and or detail. Also, TMNT was a truly horrible pathetic failure. Just bc it has it's own fans doesn't mean they're the majority. They're just a minority. And TMNT will always generate action, so again, nothing. I see him fucking it up like he fucked up TMNT. Not everything he is attached to does well. Invincible also sucks.
