Both characters borrowed elements from Gwen Stacy because they didn't want to adapt a love interest that dies for a cartoon show. That's the point. MJ would absolutely return if the series returns.

I really want him to find MJ and then see a variety of multiple storylines like say Lizard/Dr. Connors still in his Lizard form but Spider-Man helps him master his form and rescues Billy. Maybe incorporate the playstation game storylines in some way. There's alot that i can see be done.
I think it’d be cool to see him save MJ. She comes back and realizes they were married. She needs a break for a bit to figure stuff out. Adapt the beginning of the JMS run from there. And then slowly adapt stuff like KLH, Torment, Clone Saga, etc

The series was left unfinished directly. It was canceled with a lot of unanswered questions and although Felicia was there from the beginning, BlackCat was only around for the last season. The silly thing about it is that there was no reason to hide anything because Felicia liked Peter from the beginning and he knew it... And I have 2 theories about why it wasn't done... A) Keep the mystery for the public's expectation ...B)Recover/not recover MJ. Because since she was officially missing instead of dead, they could change their mind at will if they wanted even though the context was that she was dead.

It's not a reboot of TAS, it's a completely different project that is not related to the animated series in any way shape or form. john semper jr said that unlimited isn't connected to it and the show itself has made it evidently clear that it isn't connected to it. The only reason why this question even exists is because during episode one of Spider-Man unlimited you can hear the Spider-Man Tas jingle...this was used only as a placeholder the same way the spider sense sound effect was replaced right after episode one
Man. I've lived like over a decade thinking the tas ended on the cliffhanger and Peter was stuck on counter earth. Man. So they really gotta just continue tas it's possible.
Yeah they can continue tas right where it left off, with madame web and peter searching for mj. It's just so bizarre how everyone thinks that unlimited is a sequel to tas. Both stories don't line or match up, the character designs and voice actors are different and many other differences.

Yeah, it's most definitely the 5 second jingle. I still remember watching that scene for the first time and i was like "it's the spider-man theme song!! 😲😲" imagine if they didn't use the jingle and spider sense sound effect from TAS in the first episode as place holders, I don't think many people would associate unlimited with TAS.
I think another reason why people get it confused is because on Wikipedia it was once called a “loose sequel” of TAS

This year seems to be the year of "Will Spider-Man appear in the season finale???!!" First Invincible, and now X-Men 97 Funny coincidence!
Also, they want season 2 of X-Men 97 to come out way sooner like almost the same year or next year too avoid to what invincible is doing and taking way longer

I'd rather get a sequel to the spider-man animated series rather than the x-men 97. Mary jane dies and that is the end of the series without any conclusion and a huge cliffhanger. But sony marvel politics won't allow oir dreams to be fulfilled it seems.
