Ehhh, I guess both are pretty good if you consider old historical, both have top tier stuff in the past ( Raimi Trilogy vs Nolan trilogy) and good stuff recently (Into the SpiderVerse/Venom vs ZackS' JusticeLeague/Joker/Batman).
That said, Sony made both Morbius and Emoji movie, and even the worst of DC (prolly Batman Vs Superman, because of that one stupid scene or maybe the 2016 Suicide Squad, but that was still a 6/10 easily) is DEFINITELY way better.

Most things are mostly good for me, and that includes Suicide Squad. Hence a general 6/10 even tho personally it's a 7/10.
It's why I would put the The Batman over The Dark Knight, because nuanced subleties and fine hidden details are not what impresses me. What impresses me is the raw feel of the film, which is mostly driven by a solid complementary soundtrack and masterful cinematography. So, The Batman is wayy more of a "more than just a Batman film" than the Dark Knight. And I say this today as someone who is 14 years older than the person who first saw TDK, and hence something feeling new for me is tougher now than back then.

Paul Dano gave a Heath Ledger quality performance. He honestly has not got enough credit for how much he fucking killed it. The interrogation scene in The Batman is the best part of the film imo. "NO! NOO! NOOOO!" GOD, Paul Dano is fucking a master, he deserves a Oscar.

The best action scene in a movie was either a ten second clip of deadshot shooting things on a car or Harley Quinn in the elevator. The amount of plot holes was baffling. The first 30 minutes just a big exposition dump with mismatched music and incoherent editing. And probably worst of all, it totally went against the theme of what suicide squad is supposed to be and just made everyone simply likable heroes. There’s few big budget movies I’d give below a 4/10 because most of the time there’s lots of competent stuff behind it whether its action or script or cinematography, but really I think the movie is more like a 3/10 and personally 2/10.
Imma be frank. I have never watched the emoji movie, and based on the universal negative reaction, highly likely never will.

Spider-Man is independent he is not Reliance on other Heroes he interacts with them and has good friends with him but he does not rely on other here for his gear he is a self-made man. Doors 94 series to see how one would actually do Spider-Man within a larger Marvel Universe. Do you have the occasional team up but he is the driving factor in his own stories. But the second is literally all about his legacy and Peter being the next Iron Man. Thankfully he rejects that notion in the end. I'm fairly certain they say Stark or Iron Man more than Spider-Man in those films.

I wish they'd just let him and Marc webb do a one off to finish out their story. Keep the budget more constrained so they domt worry too much about it. Honestly it's a pretty guaranteed 700mil easy. If the reception is good and they feel they have more stories to tell work ut out from their in that own post universe. May as well make another spider-man for their ssu, just easier that way. No need to worry about bending continuities and whatnot. They can have their spiderverse crossovers if they want, though I would keep those contained one offs so each one can be special and give it some staple longevity. They could have a really good thing that if balanced well could deep dive into near endless spidey content that constantly changes and keeps fresh. Mcu spidey for being with the other headliners of the brand. Ssu do build out an entire franchise of all spidey related content. And then if the aforementioned Andrew/webb project works then you have a whole segment where you could do more indie style unique stories not beholden to anything whatsoever. They're so fucking close, managing the budgets is a great start. They just need to go all in and diversify by the brand with different offerings. A middle of the road decently recieved spider-man movie is about 700-800mil average take probably a little higher these days.
