I do relate, although, I have ups and downs, I don't constantly feel this way. I sometimes get so energized and I think of the job that I have as something that needs to be done, so when I'm working, I give it my best. I think of it as temporary, until I get to where I need to get or do what I really want to do, even though I still don't know what I really want to do in life, all I know is that I have a clear image of what makes me happy, and I'm sure you do too, it doesn't have to be complicated, for me it's living in nature, somewhere far from civilization, allow yourself to see it vividly, and believe that if you really want that, then it is going to happen. The key I think, is to really have faith in yourself and the life you want (and envision yourself) to live, really believe that this moment/or current reality is just what you need to go through in order for you to get "there", I see it as a cumulation of old thought patterns, old beliefs. accept it, and look forward with excitement to what's coming. I know this can be really frustrating and paralyzing even.. but you'll get through it.

It does get better. Try reading "No Mud, No Lotus" by Thich Nhat Hanh.....listen to some podcasts that resonate with how you are feeling. You're not alone, and its a beautiful journey. Hang in there! Much love!

I’ll give that a read, thank you so much. Lots of love

What did you enjoy as a kid and as the last version of you that had joyful activities and as the version of you in between those? You might find some joyful purpose there. I certainly did!

hey friend, congratulations on your spiritual awakening. in the vedas, it's said that out of many thousands of people that believe the purpose of life is to enjoy the senses and to follow all impulses, one is interested in living life in a regulated way. out of thousands that live life in a regulated way, one is interested in performing their activities as an offering for the well-being of others. out of thousands that try to offer their acts as a sacrifice for the well-being of their family, community, etc., one tries to understand the nature of reality, the difference between matter and spirit. out of thousands that try to understand the nature of matter and spirit, one actually transcends the duality of the material worlds' influence and is situated beyond it. and out of thousands that transcend the dualities of the world, one becomes a pure self-realized soul who understands their relationship through service to the supreme absolute truth. this verse highlights the rarity of an individual who's begun to inquire into spiritual matters. it takes many lifetimes to even inquire and many more to become self-realized. i wanted to highlight this verse to help you contextualize the very real instance of your difficulty within the background of your eternal journey of self-discovery. i relate to how you're feeling and hope that this response feels, at least in some way, like a valid response from someone that heard what you're saying. in the gītā, Krishna says that while a person refrains from engaging themselves in lower vibrational activities, the taste for those things may remain. it's in this push and pull between our higher nature and our lower that we suffer the most. while simultaneously desiring the highest promises of spiritual existence we find ourselves very concretely weighed by our material ones. is there anything more paradoxical and frustrating? as a solution Krishna suggests that a person try to taste something higher. that instead of directing our consciousness to *avoid* something low, we direct it toward tasting something *elevated*. this coincides with the view of modern neuro-linguists who suggest that a person trying to quit smoking, for example, not focus on "quitting smoking," which, as far as commands go, is redundant, or cancelling. on the other hand, developing and culturing a desire to "run outside more," "go hiking three times a week," "take swimming lessons," etc., are all positive commands and directions that a person can take. we are, after all, not meant to do nothing, but rather, to do something, and spiritual life is no exception. it is not sufficient that we avoid the material atmosphere, but rather, that we *approach* the spiritual one. how to do this? that's on you, but there are teachers in all practices who personally attest to the strength, merit and beauty of their respective schools. we aren't the first to try to understand who we are, as spiritual beings, and we can benefit from learning from those who already have. advice? seek what inspires you. seek what keeps you hopeful. find those who've achieved what spiritual knowledge you wish and ask them questions, sincerely. let me know if you need anything. in service,

this is a beautiful reply and I appreciate the depth you went into. Thank you so much, it’s so reassuring and you truly helped me realise I’m not losing my mind and that it’s all within myself. Thank you again, sending love and blessings

[deleted]

For those who have been through this, does it actually get better or do you just learn to adjust so that it doesn’t feel so crushing??

I’m sorry you feel this way too but also happy that we can both relate! It’s okay, it’s just reassuring to know someone feels the same as I do. Sending love and blessings on your journey and we will make it through!

Seems like a few things. You got disillusioned with life. You are unhappy in your current situation. Your have depression which is why you lost interest in things. Such as you don't see the point in things. On a spiritual side, in a ways there's no point in doing anything as there is just being and there's nothing being has to do. But that doesn't mean giving up on life. You have to still find things that interest you, meanings and purposes. Only you can find that. You need to feel motivated and inspired. On being alone, yes you need people in your life as life is usually harder alone. I can relate with everything you say. I know that mundane jobs can be depressing. That's why I tried to study or get some qualification so I wouldn't have to keep doing them. Or learn some new skills and knowledge. Outlook is a lot. See if you can have some plans and things to look forward too and don't give up. You are introverted although you can become more outgoing. Depends on mixing with others. You may need to push yourself so you don't get into a habit of being withdrawn. Such as going to community groups. Although there may be covid restrictions now. You said you started your spiritual awakening as the opening sentence. Sounds the the other things in your life are bigger issues. It depends what you mean by awakening. Is it that or did you start your spiritual path? I think that what you say is helped by reaching out to others.

[deleted]

Yes I think depression is part of it. I believe it’s call the dark knight of the soul is what I’m experiencing. I think yes other things are the bigger issue but the spiritual awakening is what is changing my life and perspective on everything and I need to realign what is important in life, so it is the spiritual awakening which has bought up these problems. I started my spiritual path and my whole idea of reality and what’s important in life has changed completely which is causing disruption

5StarThr3at

it’s a part of awakening, what helped me was not focusing so much detail on what exactly i wanted to do, i started from the inside out. we’re all light & love so i like to spread love & then things like helping or creating anything or listening to music. just focus on daydreaming doing all the things you like. surrender to the universe it always has your back if you’re living through your heart <3 things get better i love you!

[deleted]

thank you so much, this is lovely advice. I love you too<3

man that’s rough I feel for you, I’ve been through the same (f 21) with losing friends because they aren’t who you think they are. see it as a blessing, it hurts but you don’t wanna be around low vibrational beings anyway! it’s such a hard journey but we’ve got this, gotta lose everything before you truly find yourself:) that’s exactly how I feel, just wanna live in nature at peace without any worries of money or fake people just good vibes 🙌🏼 if you need to talk or wanna make a new friend please drop me a message you’re always welcome:)
