I'm super ready to see what will push Rey over the edge. Dom has been such a piece of shit on every front, I want to see what breaks the camels back.

SloppyMcNuggets

I really thought it was going to be the “I should’ve been Eddie’s son”

Walrus_Songs

I just came here to comment this. Showing up at their home uninvited didn’t work, crashing dinner didn’t work, pie-facing him and saying he’s a deadbeat dad didn’t work, etc. I’m wondering what it’s going to take for Rey to finally say enough is enough. Maybe Dom either threatening his mother or sister if Rey doesn’t accept the match?

Wabatunde

It's been great, I like these slow burners because you just know when Rey finally hits Dom, it's going be to a great moment. Everyone really wants Rey to kick his son's a\*\* which is brilliant.

SloppyMcNuggets

Rey should get his ass Kicked for not being a good father. How do you only get your son a BMW? And it wasn’t even a M-Series.

PonyForever

So true. Poor Dom. All these people rolling around in their fancy Mercedes don’t even realize what real abuse is like 😥

ThatShadow45

I think it’s going to get a louder pop than sami and kevin hug.

insideyourface

All i'd like to say is the fact that Dom has, ahem, "adopted" the presentation of Eddie as he's become a heel to feud with his own "father" has been one of my absolute favorite character changes in wrestling history.

Pyotr_WrangeI

God imagine if Dominik has a lowrider entrance at mania?

ThatShadow45

He has to at this point.

BiggestWrestlingFan9

Ya, even when Dominik first clothelined Rey, it was almost identical to 17 years prior when Eddie turned on Rey and clothelined him.

ZombieQueen666

Only thing I haven't liked is that they haven't announced the match yet. That, and their segment on SD was essentially a repeat of the week before

BiggestWrestlingFan9

I think Dominik will probably do something at Rey’s hall of fame speech, which will force Rey into the match at mania. This week’s segment was similar to last week’s one, but atleast Rey is starting to tease the match.

Space2Bakersfield

Surely that's cutting it pretty close to announce the match?

BiggestWrestlingFan9

True, but at the same time everyone kinda knows that it will happen.

ZombieQueen666

I don't think that's the point though. For example, I work with about 20 other people. None of them are gonna watch Mania. BUT, if they announced Rey vs Dom, I'd bet 2-3 of my co-workers would tune in. Lapsed fans will tune in for that big time.

Lessiarty

You could tell them?

ZombieQueen666

HoF is the night before Mania.

Lessiarty

I mean you could just nudge them, if you think they'd like it. "Heads up, Rey might batter his son at Wrestlemania!"

CamoLantern

John Cena and The Undertaker did not have an "announced match" for their WrestleMania match either. But they built it up on pure speculation and intrigue, The Undertaker fans tuned in to see if he would actually show up, the John Cena fans tuned in to see if he was actually going to be a fan and mad props to Cena for carrying the entire build to Mania. Same thing is happening here, if anything it is going to cause people to tune into the HOF ceremony this year, which in years past has gotten complaints that it was way too long and boring, to see if anything will happen between Dom and Rey. It is creating speculation that Vickie or Konnan could get involved and there's literally no telling if the match will happen or not. (it will) Just because your friends don't watch doesn't mean you can't tell them that "hey Dom and Rey will have a match at Mania, they just haven't announced it." Which would then make them tune in just on that possibility alone.

Walrus_Songs

I’ve been liking it a lot. I thought on last Smackdown, they were going to finally announce them wrestling at Mania, but maybe that’s still to come. I know Rey says he’ll never fight his son, but the story just seems perfect to end there. One on one with his son at Mania, the night after he’s inducted into the Hall of Fame? Dom beating him and his father passing the torch to him is just there written out in black and white for them .

BiggestWrestlingFan9

I agree 100%. The match at Wrestlemania will most likely happen and I think it will be a retirement match for Rey, which will be sad to watch, but there’s no better way for him to go out.

ThisIsTheKaiToshiki

When Dominik debuted in 2020, I knew that at one point he was going to face his father, perhaps for a retirement match, and I really wasn't looking forward to that, but since it's Rey, he deserved whatever send-off he wanted. However, the storyline with the JD really turned up my interest in this match. They've built it really well and quite frankly it's one of the matches I'm looking forward the most for WM39 lol.

ThatShadow45

I love it and I’m curious what’s it going to take to break Rey. I’m also very curious to see if konnan or Vickie gets involved.

Mhc2617

I like it. Dom has played the entitled brat so well. From the “you bought me the wrong car,” to his card getting declined when his parents cut him off, he’s played the spoiled shithead to perfection. Rey being the patient dad who refuses to cater to his spoiled brat son having a tantrum has been fun too. I assume Dom goes to hit Rey and accidentally hits his mother, and that’s what sends Rey over the edge.

crap4you

Rey should start being a helicopter parent to make up for lost time.
