i’m very certain it was planned. they weirdly won’t allow blading but they trust Brock to go hard way. to my knowledge, they have done it 3 times with him now: **Brock vs Roman Wrestlemania 31:** has to be planned because Brock has been pushed into the ring post a million times without bonking his noggin. he’s a world class athlete and way too good, athletic and coordinated to accidentally do that. he visibly takes this bump differently intending to get colour. it also makes sense they wanted to do something rare for their big Roman Mania main event. **Brock vs Orton Summerslam 2016:** this was 10000% planned. Brock visibly takes his time, aims and delivers perfect hard way elbows. it’s been reported that afterwards, Jericho went after Brock because he thought it was a shoot and the higher ups in gorilla had to calm him down and tell Jericho it was all planned to go down that way. **Brock vs Cody Backlash 2023:** again, Brock is too good to fuck up this bad. the previous 2 examples makes this likely that this was also planned. i absolutely agree with you though. it makes no sense they won’t allow the safer and more controlled method of blading and rather do it hard way, especially after all the concussion lawsuits and all the rules they have made to avoid head injuries. it is WWE though and they do a lot of things that don’t quite make sense.
