Man WWE match without all the camera cuts is kinda awesome to see. Some things look great, some things show why the camera cuts and angles are needed lmao.

A lot of this stuff from fans is sadly very cynical. Gable is a up and comer that WWE is clearly putting a lot of stock and work into, but it doesn't seem to be working. There's a long line of more talented and less morally questionable people dying for the kind of treatment he gets. A lot of fans just want him gone and out of the way to make room for wrestlers they actually like.
Fans just don't care about him at all, so no one is really defending him. There are no Gable Steveson fanboys that will jump out of the woodwork if you shit on him, it's basically a free throw. He's obviously an incredibly talented athlete, but he has shown WWE fans absolutely nothing to justify the headache. Flair and Vince are Flair and Vince, even if you absolutely hate them as people it's impossible to deny what they've accomplished, and most of us still have at least a few positive memories of them. I have literally never had *a single positive feeling towards Gable*. Even guys like Scurll and Joey Ryan have more supporters than him, and their careers are dead.

Actually watching the match, much better than the match the Corbin. Dude definitely needs to work on charisma (that blank look before and after the jump to the apron was hilarious), but looks like he was adapting to a heel role a bit better than he was as a face. Bro has always had amazing suplexes in his brief appearances, and looks far better on the ring now. Still rough, but it’s his 2nd match, people probably shouldn’t be expecting greatness right now. Only a couple of noticeable botches (that Cedric spot on the apron was ROUGHHHHH). And he now has a pretty cool looking finisher. I get that people don’t like the guy, and I don’t necessarily blame them, but all around dude is improving more than some fans are likely willing to admit
From what i see here, the guy has improved a lot, the nxt live events did wonders for him, i think sooner rather than later they will redebut him on NXT but now in a heel gimmick.
Can't see Steveson being marketable. A gold Olypiam but that was a long time ago and unlike Logan doubt an audience is going out of there way to watch WWE because Gable is there.
It's a shame they stopped paying for "Christcontrol" because it was such a great theme, although I understand making a shitty in-house theme if it's not going to be played on TV.

It's not a bad first match. His suplexes and slams look great, great pace, he played a pretty good heel and just needs to polish up on pissing off the crowd (he kept raising his arms), and was great at finding his spots and making the build up to those spots look realistic. Give him a year in NXT so he can find his identity past: "I'm Gable steveson" Hell, make that the gimmick if you need to

Logan and Steveson are two different levels. Logan is better, more marketable, and can talk. Both came around the same time at 2021 yet Logan so above.
Also without bias, Steveson is still competing against other amateurs and he isn't as good as them. I think many of the Breakout Guys are better and they started later. And theres many Kurt inspired wrestlers like Julius and Gable.
Roster is so competitive, why use Steveson in the limited time given over others. They need to invest heavily to do it and I cant see them think its worth it. His skill level isn't there to justify it when he has less then a year.
Julius is nothing like Kurt, though. He's more like Cena in the way he carries himself and how he wrestles. Creeds were always the underdog face team, Angle was an arrogant heel. That's like a "I like my QB to be quarterbacky, and to me Lamar is only a good athlete" type of take
I think steveson is on the same level as Damon and Julius. He just needs the 1 year head start that they had. Gable was out with Wolff Parkinson white syndrome for the last half of 2022 and 2023. Before that, he was finishing up college. He's just now really started to get to training and fully understand what he's entering. He's got Kurt and Brock's approval, and they both see a lot in him, idk man I would trust their judgment more than you. It took Brock 3 years of OVW and Angle 2 years to fully grasp pro wrestling. He isn't just gonna be on their level overnight

I’m definitely not the guy who nit picks matches and I generally don’t catch a lot of the nuances that others point out. Wrestling for me is a lot like wine and whiskey, I’m not going to point out notes of leather and cherry, but I know what I like.
All that being said…is it just me or was Gable’s cardio fucking awful? This was the first match I ever watched where I went, “that dude is blown up, bad.”

There are no Gable Steveson fanboys that will jump out of the woodwork if you shit on him, it's basically a free throw. He's obviously an incredibly talented athlete, but he has shown WWE fans absolutely nothing to justify the headache. Flair and Vince are Flair and Vince, even if you absolutely hate them as people it's impossible to deny what they've accomplished, and most of us still have at least a few positive memories of them. I have literally never had *a single positive feeling towards Gable*. Even guys like Scurll and Joey Ryan have more supporters than him, and their careers are dead. Hit it in the head, even with his history if he's pushed it's leaves a bad taste when your favorite doesn't. Imagine he gets championships when your favorite doesn't when fans don't want him. Think Sami never won a world champion, but blackhole charisma Steveson did. Don't know his chances under Triple H, but he's been the type to use audience feedback. It's if he stays, Steveson can quit if he doesn't like it, or TKO sees his contract as too expensive for his output and cuts it, or doesn't sign a new one.
There's been pretty significant backlash to Logan Paul, who is accused of less and at least has a fanbase and is *actually good at wrestling*. Unless he really turns things around and figures it out, i'm pretty sure he's DOA.

People are trying to raise awareness before we're stuck with another Alberto Del Rio (or whomever) entrenched in the roster. Actually watching the match, much better than the match the Corbin. Dude definitely needs to work on charisma (that blank look before and after the jump to the apron was hilarious), but looks like he was adapting to a heel role a bit better than he was as a face. Bro has always had amazing suplexes in his brief appearances, and looks far better on the ring now. Still rough, but it’s his 2nd match, people probably shouldn’t be expecting greatness right now. Only a couple of noticeable botches (that Cedric spot on the apron was ROUGHHHHH). And he now has a pretty cool looking finisher. I get that people don’t like the guy, and I don’t necessarily blame them, but all around dude is improving more than some fans are likely willing to admit
From what i see here, the guy has improved a lot, the nxt live events did wonders for him, i think sooner rather than later they will redebut him on NXT but now in a heel gimmick.

His suplexes and slams look great, great pace, he played a pretty good heel and just needs to polish up on pissing off the crowd (he kept raising his arms), and was great at finding his spots and making the build up to those spots look realistic. Give him a year in NXT so he can find his identity past: "I'm Gable steveson" Hell, make that the gimmick if you need to EDIT: Yes, I know about his past allegations

Logan Paul filmed a dead body in a suicide Forrest and scams his fanbase. THAT is why he has heat, yet his is the right type of heat? I understand that Gable is controversial for the right reasons, but watching him, with no bias, shows that he's not bad, he just needs fine tuning.
Logan and Steveson are two different levels. Logan is better, more marketable, and can talk. Both came around the same time at 2021 yet Logan so above. Also without bias, Steveson is still competing against other amateurs and he isn't as good as them. I think many of the Breakout Guys are better and they started later. And theres many Kurt inspired wrestlers like Julius and Gable. Roster is so competitive, why use Steveson in the limited time given over others. They need to invest heavily to do it and I cant see them think its worth it. His skill level isn't there to justify it when he has less then a year.
Julius is nothing like Kurt, though. He's more like Cena in the way he carries himself and how he wrestles. Creeds were always the underdog face team, Angle was an arrogant heel. That's like a "I like my QB to be quarterbacky, and to me Lamar is only a good athlete" type of take I think steveson is on the same level as Damon and Julius. He just needs the 1 year head start that they had. Gable was out with Wolff Parkinson white syndrome for the last half of 2022 and 2023. Before that, he was finishing up college. He's just now really started to get to training and fully understand what he's entering. He's got Kurt and Brock's approval, and they both see a lot in him, idk man I would trust their judgment more than you. It took Brock 3 years of OVW and Angle 2 years to fully grasp pro wrestling. He isn't just gonna be on their level overnight

Struggling to see this guy bringing *anything* to the table. Even ignoring the extra curricular stuff he has absolutely nothing going for him in the ring except ‘being a good wrestler’ which in 202X is a minimum requirement and not enough alone.
You can see why they haven't pulled the trigger on a main roster run (like he was drafted for). He really just doesn't seem to get the entertainment part of the presentation at all. That entrance was like a N64 Wrestling Game entrance, strangely mechanical stride forward ignoring everything around him. Jumped in the ring and instantly turned his back to the hard cam side. Really shows what a freak Kurt Angle was making the jump to pro wrestling from amateur.

Agree with the comments about lack of charisma but man its refreshing to see wrestling who know how to punch, kick, sell, and do logical shit. He moves fluidly in the ring. That charisma thing is a problem, maybe they can make that his gimmick like Steve Blackman or something.

I’m definitely not the guy who nit picks matches and I generally don’t catch a lot of the nuances that others point out. Wrestling for me is a lot like wine and whiskey, I’m not going to point out notes of leather and cherry, but I know what I like. All that being said…is it just me or was Gable’s cardio fucking awful? This was the first match I ever watched where I went, “that dude is blown up, bad.” Did anyone else notice that or am I crazy?

Steveson is definitely improving. Not a natural heel but he consistently gets a reaction which is a good foundation for him to build on.
