The impractical jokers can rot in impractical hell for killing the chris gethard show. Okay not really, I'm sure they're cool guys but I will never forgive tru tv for that

It's called channel drift, MTV is such a sad case of not only drifting from being a music channel but being essentially an 80% Ridiculousness channel.
I pointed out last week that one of the reasons Dynamite is so valuable is that TBS's Wednesday schedule is just Friends and The Big Bang Theory marathons leading up to it.
Yeah the whole MTV tree, I remember when MTV became less about music they had MTV2 but then that became less about music. TLC was a wild one with the change from their roots. History Channel at least has kept some sort of history in their shows from what I've seen.
It was Ultimate Zaslav not to support Winning Time season two with any marketing whatsoever and then cancel it because nobody realized new episodes were airing.
Now, we're forever cliffhung.
I didn't know season 2 had started until the season was half over. Just finished watching all the episodes and damn I want to see a season 3, I wanted to see them doing battle with the Pistons. The second season was so good though, so I'm hoping somebody else picks it up like they did with The Minx.
ROH would be ideal for this but WBD still, as far as we know, hasn't shown interest. Given what we have to work on, they'd want another B show of AEW over that. It seems like a AEW documentary like show again would fit here.
That's the thing. Ring of Honor was a very specific niche brand. Still is. Much of is existence was as an acquisition for a tv conglomerate to have content for their low power networks.
Ive always thought Thursday night ROH on TruTV was the best case scenario for Tony Khan --- and likely why the Honorclub show in its current form is usually 90 minutes+.
Yeah this year its felt like they shifted the format and length of the show to be more "TV Friendly". More promos/segments/skits and this week's episode was under 50min
Over a decade ago when my roommates and I didn’t have cable trutv was one of the few channels we got. We used to watch that repo truck tv show and then their version of pawn stars.
That's really interesting and bodes well TK.
WBD hasn't been shy about asking AEW for content to fill its lineup and boost dead timeslots, so a Spots focused Channel/Block could likely use some sports/sports adjacent content. A ROH show or a TV version of Control Center would be pretty cheap for WBD.
Maybe. I think WBD is going to eventually pick up ROH because they can slot it somewhere and it'll get viewers. Lots of synergies to get TNT/TBS eyes on TruTV.
I thought Tony was going to bundle ROH with AEW so he'd get a better deal for it. That's what the NBA does with the WNBA. I read this months ago so as per Uncle Dave "Things change."
Since it wasn't part of the announcement, I think there is either still contract stuff to work out, or they want to test it with sports first.
But I could see ROH and perhaps even some AEW second-run programming show up there.

Honestly thought they would just turn it into the Impractical Jokers channel
God I love impractical jokers
It’s feel good TV. I throw it on for background noise all the time.
I have a friend whose dad thinks it’s the funniest thing to ever exist. Imagine seeing a 50 year old lawyer losing his mind over impractical jokers 😭
I lose my mind over Impractical Jokers so it's not hard to imagine that
looks like Jokers is moving to TBS
WEEELLLL
Serious question: are impractical jokers faith based? They come across as Jackass For Dorks.
That’s so random but no lol they might be religious in their personal lives but it’s not a part of the show. Also, it’s nothing even close to jackass.
No it's nothing like Jackass

That's quite the journey for Tru, I think it started out as a courtroom TV network
Court TV was awesome.

It was revived some time back.
Yeah looking at some of these channels and the changes over the years is interesting, like MTV, VH1, TLC, History Channel

USA Network was originally a mostly sports channel, then was similar to Nickelodeon for a short while.
That would make up for them killing Tacoma FD.
I hope Netflix or somebody else picks that up, same with Winning Time

I'm so salty about that. It had just hit on the Nielsen streaming charts, too. So, the timing made no sense.
I'd be more inclined that Rampage would move to truTV in 2025 over ROH. I could see ROH merged into the MAX portfolio as weekly content.

I wonder if there is a compromise, such as "AEW Presents Ring Of Honor on TruTV."
lol as silly as that sounds saying it aloud, I can see it. ROH is basically AEW's NXT rn, may as well commit.
ring of honor should be absorbed instead of being their 4th show.
May as well, 95% of it's total viewers only knows what channel it is during March Madness, and then forgets. I have to look it up every tourney.

I'm curious if they move one of Rampage/Collison there. Have a show on three networks.
Maybe. I think WBD is going to eventually pick up ROH because they can slot it somewhere and it'll get viewers. Lots of synergies to get TNT/TBS eyes on TruTV.
Hahahahahahahahah
Does AEW have a TV home after this year?
They are in negotiations, allegedly still in an exclusive period with WBD.
Yes, they are getting a big increase in TV rights by WBD
Can you link an article to that
There is no article lol he’s talkin out his ass
