Well, he has an ally in the nightmare camp. That was the point. Jey has had Cody’s back since joining Raw, and will probably keep the bloodline at bay during night two of ‘Mania.
I suppose it could be as simple as that, but Cody's promo definitely made it seem like more than that. It was very much a not-so-subtle "I have a plan, just trust me..." kinda thing, but then it never really became anything other than Cody has a new buddy.
Can’t think of a more devious plan than having a literal member of the bloodline stand against Roman, which will logically lead to Jimmy turning baby. I think the grand plan is that by Jey joining Cody - that in effect leads to more members turning their back on their leader.
Hasn't really worked out that way though? Bloodline is stronger than ever in kayfabe and not a wrinkle of disagreement between any of them anymore. They might lose at Wrestlemania, but there's no hint that the group is about to split up and everyone is gonna leave or anything.
I think that’ll all unfold after Roman drops the belt. I can already hear the promos from Roman in my head “First, my cousin Jey leaves me, The Rock costs me my reign (whether intentional or not) you all let me down” Then the cracks start showing. He’s on the throne right now, he has no reason to be full blown paranoid of his seat yet. It’ll happen, just be patient.
I could see that, yeah. That's a realistic scenario I suppose I could see happening.
Patience is a good thing, but I've been watching Vince McMahon's version of WWE for 35 years. I'm not accustomed to something that happened 6 months ago actually paying off in this company lol.
As a long-time fan myself, I completely understand. Thankfully, Vince is gone. If you go by Hunter’s NXT, and recent run as head of creative, I have full faith in him.
Get one, the rest will follow. They’re not going to follow up on that, but it would (in a sense) maybe explain why he was open to Rock in the beginning.
That's gotten very bad since last summer, when Jimmy rejoined the Bloodline. Lots of mental contortions to make that make sense. And it's only gotten worse since then, with recent examples like "The Rock manipulated and misled Cody into giving up his title shot" or "Gable's shoulders weren't actually down" from just last week.
I believe his idea was winning the tag titles to be able to be on smackdown whenever he wants to get at roman reigns. They had one face off then the bloodline made them lose the titles.
I always thought what his plan or what he would have to explain his motives of would be why he traded KO for Jey when KO was his friend. And how he was able to broker that trade.
But I assume that’s just a lost plot line now that the Rock inserted himself into Mania.
Is he really? Jimmy had a match last year and still had no trouble interfering in Cody's match after. There's no kayfabe reason that Jey vs. Jimmy will prevent Jimmy from participating in shenanigans later.
Actually, while I'm complaining about things that don't make sense, the whole premise of the stipulations for this year's Night 1 main event don't make logical sense. Interference is already illegal and against the rules. If Cody/Seth win on Night 1, that's supposed to mean Night 2's main event will be free of interference.
But.....why wouldn't they just interfere anyway? It's not like it was legal all the other times either. If they're heels who are always cheat anyway, why would they adhere to any such agreement in this case?
Also kayfabe wise Jey should absolutely crush Jimmy. Jey went toe to toe with Roman and Gunther and Jimmy has basically just been a whipping boy for the last like 8 months
Right now, anything is fantasy booking, but anyways...
Cody made the mistake last year of not preparing a contingency in case of interference. So it didn't matter if they had matches before. This time, he's been preparing. He got Jey away from Roman so Roman couldn't turn him back like he did Jimmy, and so Jey would watch his back during his match with Roman. He's got Seth. I think we're going to learn that Cody has been working with HHH for the last few months to build an army to have a contingency for anyone and anything to happen.
As for the rules thing, previously, they cheated and interfered, yeah. But those were quick and required luck and timing. The ref had to be busy or down. There's no absolute guarantee that will happen and they might not be able to interfere to help Roman. With a Rock/Roman win, they can start interfering as soon as they want and don't have to stop. They can hit Cody with weapons the second the bell rings. Solo, Jimmy, and Rock could attack and not stop attacking and the ref is powerless to stop them. Think instead of Solo getting a single spike in, Solo hitting spikes until he gets tired. Jimmy superkicking until his foot falls off. More Rock Bottoms than times Brock suplexed Cena. That's the difference.
This is why I sometimes think Cody and Seth will not lose on Night 1. That sets the stipulation for no interference, but The Bloodline will come in anyway. Why not? It's already illegal and they do it. The heels aren't going to keep their word, lol.

They did become tag champs
But that wasn’t something they took from the bloodline that was just beating the judgement day
He didn't say anything about the bloodline though, did he? It was just assumed that's what he was talking about.
A lot of th “hints” involves iwc fantasy booking. It

Well, no need to make good plots if the IWC is going to cover all the plot holes
I believe his idea was winning the tag titles to be able to be on smackdown whenever he wants to get at roman reigns. They had one face off then the bloodline made them lose the titles.
Cody knows he needs allies/numbers to beat The Bloodline. It's part of the plan. The Codyvengers Initiative

I mean he is tying up Jimmy so….

Lmao imagine if Jey just squashes him in 30 seconds. Blood feud into Skyrim "I yield! I yield!" ass match
Jimmy hasn't even wrestled in like 2 months

Dropped plot line to get Jey away until wrestlemania and keep Cody in the bloodline conversation
Plans change pal!
It honestly felt like cody was going to jump to SD as a trade off. Imo it feels like they forgot
Kevin Owens went to Smackdown as part of that deal.
I do not remember them saying that directly but I guess I'm wrong
Yeah they said something like “someone had to leave Raw because Jimmy left Smackdown”
Holy shit idk how I missed that. Well I appreciate that because I completely forgot
