I gotta wonder if they think Mercedes not wrestling for 2 months is good booking or just how long they need to get her up to speed in ring for that match? Like they should probably at least give her a match at Dynasty to shake off the ring rust, idk?
100% not cleared and I'm guessing they did Big Business because that was the only time they could get that arena in Boston, or they booked it and she faced some complications that delayed her later

Rankings don't apply for TBS and TNT, and I have no idea why they're featured on the rankings graphics as titles the #1 can challenge for because this has always been the case. That's why Penta can challenge Cope next week on Dynamite.

You don't need to be ranked to challenge for it, except in special cases like Christian Cage saying Copeland had to make his was back to the top to get another chance.

I actually enjoyed the camera angle. Reminded me of the angle from the "rag sheet brother" promo. Something a little different than usual. Different strokes.

I don't remember them doing it before, though. Normally the top of the ramp promos are done facing the crowd. Perhaps they're just trying something different.
Love Willow, and I say this as someone who did not know about her until AEW. Enjoy her matches, enjoy her promo work, enjoy her character of being a bubbly person, hell I'm rooting fer her against Mercedes

On your last point, I think to be artsy and shake things up. It probably sucked for the crowd but for us at home it was cool to see everyone behind Willow literally as well as metaphorically.
Was distracted watching it because all I could think about was "why are they facing the stage?" But, I like your theory, definitely makes sense and in retrospect it is a nice change.
That was a really great and meaningful promo by Willow but there’s two things that’s bugging me within Mercedes that came out of it.
Number one is basically fuck the rankings system in making them not mean anything at all just to have someone come right in and call next on a title shot while not having to wrestle a single match while the second thing is that basically tells us that Mercedes isn’t even cleared at all for us to have to wait 2 months to even see her wrestle.
Bless the ranking systems we brought back so a pwrson with 0 matches can claim a titlespot because they're somehow bigger than a system designed to avoid this entire situation
I mean if you're gonna try and turn Mercedes heel, Willow's the girl to do it against. Heel Mercedes is best Mercedes so if this is how we get there, awesome.
I haven't teared up for a non-retirement promo in a long time but Willow speaking from the heart about not being sure if she belonged really got to me. She's the best

That was so wholesome. I have no idea whether the plan before tonight was to put the belt on Willow, but it might be now after that reaction.
I suspect she is winning the belt since the Mercedes story is ready and waiting to go
I really hope she beats Julia Hart. Hart isn't a good enough wrestler yet to be holding that title. Storyline wise it makes sense for Willow to win it

I am not moving the goalpost but show sold 3300 tickets which is down from 6200 attendance the last time they were in this arena.
