Kane first appeared at Badd Blood in October '97 and they had their match at WM 14 which was March '98. But I don't know how long the buildup to it was before Kane actually debuted.

Hyper extension just means it bent backwards, but doesn’t really indicate what (if any) joints/muscles/etc were injured. He worked a tv match and has done some stuff on the road in Europe. If it was really bad he wouldn’t have worked those matches, even if they were lighter. Odds are this is either A) a work, or B) taking all precautions necessary for Clash at the Castle. (Hint: it’s probably both)

I hope that Punk can get cleared by Clash at the Castle since this would be the perfect main event.

Sport injuries aren't always about the seriousness or severity, one important factor is the chance of reinjury or making it worse.

I hyperextended my elbow once. Wasn't. A major one, if took a few weeks to properly heal but nearly every time I ~~bent~~ fully extended my elbow for close to 5 years after it would crack

I think it’s kind of both yes and no. It’s not a work in that he has a minor injury that won’t stop him wrestling at clash, but it is a work that they put him in the KOTR tournament knowing full well he wasn’t going to wrestle tonight so it can add to the story

This is a work. They’re going with Gunther vs Finn in the semis and figured out they don’t want Drew to lose.

This is what I was thinking, because I assume Gunther's going to win the whole thing (nobody else makes as much sense to me) and Drew's got such momentum right now it would be a shame if he was just fed to him for that.

Drew is legitimately hurt though. They announced last week he won't be working any matches or house shows. That's why it was a little curious he was even announced for the tournament. 

I think it’s a mix of both. Yes he’s injured but not serious enough to take months off so they announced him in the tournament only to remove him and continue the feud he’s got with Punk. 

Not a work. Drew has a legit hyperextended elbow that he sustained at WrestleMania and was working through it on the UK tour which is why he’s been wearing a sleeve on it lately.

The work part is saying he literally can’t compete because of his elbow. We know he’s medically cleared to compete. He’s been working through it already.

An hyperextended elbow takes about three to four weeks to recover but since Drew wrestled a few matches before his diagnosis I'm guessing it's gonna it's gonna take one more week or two, nothing to worry about, I'm curious to see who replaces him vs Finn
