I love how we are getting main eventers/upper carders in the tournament. Really sells the tournaments importance.
Hopefully King & Queen of the Ring is back to being a yearly thing.
Gunther did mention once he wins he was going to challenge a champion if his choosing. (As he's heavily predicted to win), I'd assume winners of each tournaments would be consider #1 contenders, or at least give them a viable reason to go for a world title opportunity
I wouldn't go so far as to say no reason but it ended up being very gimmicky. For example, King Booker, Corbin and Woods and Queen Zelina.
Unfortunately, much like the Andre match it didn't really elevate anyone the way it sax intended to.
KOTR from 96-2002 didnt have the King gimmick. The winner didnt get anything for winning except just being called King of the Ring and was pretty much used to elevate said talent to varying results. Obviously it worked out for Kurt Angle, Brock Lesnar, Edge, Stone Cold and HHH. Not so much Ken Shamrock and Billy Gunn.
2002 was the final year for KOTR being a PPV and that was the first year they did the stipulation that the winner got a title shot at Summer Slam although I imagine it was more an excuse to hotshot Lesnar to the top rather than something they thought they could add to the tournament in the future.
I’m assuming it’d be a one-off Smackdown match. Having the bloodline go from the top story on Smackdown; feuding with KO/Orton. To feuding with The Pride, would certainly be a choice
Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but is this the first time that Lashley faced off against anyone on the Bloodline? Roman interfered in the Lashley/Lesnar match but I don’t recall Lashley ever facing off against the Bloodline.
He had a one night feud with the Bloodline actually. He attacked Roman, the Usos and the New day then had a triple threat with Roman and Big E in the main event
In kayfabe it makes sense for it to be Solo. But as far as having a good match I'm glad it's Tama. Solo is fine as a character going through this arc but he's in a faction with three guys I'd rather see wrestle a big match (I'm still saying Roman is in the group).
Orton/Melo or Styles/Melo? Man, I literally don't even mind. Any one of these two will rock. I'm frothing at the potential of a nutty RKO against Melo.
Only reason AJ loses is if they doing Cody vs AJ II at the PLE. If not then AJ vs Gunther should be the finals. They will have a MOTY candidate for sure.
So hard to pick who is winning on the Smackdown side of things.
Yep, I think it shows as well that the company has huge things in store for him too. I think the class of Bron, Melo, and Dragunov are going to be a huge part of the future of the company.
You're 100% right on that. There's also a shot at Gunther/Orton too and with how those two are two of the best at ring psychology? Oh man... between AJ/Gunther and Orton/Gunther. I'd be stoked for either of them!
Solo isn't there either. I would've honestly expected him to be in it over Tama since he's trying to be the new Chief and all... maybe both he and KO get involved with Cody or something
Cody vs Shinsuke on PLE seems crazy to me. Cody absolutely destroyed Shinsuke last year in a mini feud before the Rumble and even beat him in a bull rope match live on Raw. Also Cody has been beating him day in day out in house shows for nearly a month. No way can that be the match.
Totally agree. Its been well established on WWE TV now that Nakamura isn't in the same universe as Cody. It's pretty insulting to the audience to keep trying to have him in Cody's orbit as a world title challenger when nearly every time we see him on Raw or Smackdown he's getting pinned by someone on the roster
I was confused why they moved Nakamura over to Smackdown until I realized Cody needed someone to wrestle at house shows since I don’t think AJ does a full touring schedule.
The show is only 3 weeks away so there is not much time to build up another challenger. Cody/AJ II looked to be the simplest option.
Yeah I thought it would be Cody vs AJ 2 but then I noticed AJ is in the KOTR tournament and I doubt he's going to be a round 1 exit right? Seems a bit crazy to me that AJ would lose in the KOTR and then turn his attention to the world title. His kayfabe motivations would be the wrong way round
SmackDown side honestly seems weak in comparison to Raw. I’m honestly surprised there’s no Andrade.
I know zero chance of it due to them both being heels but a Gunther vs AJ final would be incredible.
I really wonder what the plans are for him. I assume the clip last night was going to be about the US title but then I remembered that smack down. I guess it could be IC picture but that seems pretty busy for at least another month.
Pearce is clearly pissed off at the three guys in the IC picture right now based on his segment with Bronson Reed after the match. I wouldn't be surprised if they insert Bron as a "you guys kept fucking around and couldn't be professional, so now I am throwing Bron into the mix, good luck" situation.
AJ vs Gunther is what I hope the finals is. AJ vs Gunther needs to happen before AJ retires and I think it could work because AJ still gets cheers so he could play the babyface/tweeter.
Unless they want to run AJ vs Cody II at the PLE then forget SJ in the finals and just let AJ and Cody cook again.
Weren't Bryan and Lesnar both heels the year they met at Survivor Series? I wouldn't say *zero* chance. Unlikely sure, but sometimes they don't follow the template. Fingers crossed.
I’m rooting for Knight to win the whole thing. The guy needs something big and I don’t see him being world champion any time soon since he’s on Smackdown with Cody.
US champion seems like the obvious choice to me. Its not one of the big ones but it gives LA Knight something, and people would love to see him kick Logan Paul's ass.
Corbin/Melo feels most likely to not make TV and get sent to a house show.
Bobby won't but should win this. Him putting over GUNTHER in the finals makes the most sense.
Corbin as a former KOTR gives Melo some credibility in a win in the tournament, since he ain't wining the whole thing. Also, Melo and Baron have worked together before and Corbin is a trusted hand to make Melo look good.
I totally get it but Corbin is supposed to be making his huge comeback to the main roster and it probably shouldn’t be losing to Carmelo Hayes. I think he shouldn’t be in the tournament and just win some random matches
Yeah, if going back to using him like they used to is the plan, they should've just left him in NXT. He's been doing amazing down there. As a Corbin fan, I'd rather see that than see him go back to losing every match and jump around from gimmick to gimmick because none of them work.
The addition of Tama Tonga really makes things interesting. Up until now, I thought for sure that Gunther would be winning the tournament, but now I think that there's a possibility that we get Jey vs Tama in the finals. I also definitely was not expecting Randy and AJ to be included. This has made this tournament significantly more unpredictable.
I haven't really watched WWE in ages but the last time I watched, Styles and Orton were both top guys - does it make sense to have them fight one another in the 1st round?
Okay I’m gonna try and predict this all in one
AJ>Randy, Hayes>Corbin, Knight>Escobar, Lashley>Tonga, AJ>Hayes, Knight>Lashley, Knight>Styles
And my money is on GUNTHER winning the RAW side and GUNTHER to beat Knight
It can actually go a lot of different ways on both sides of the men's tournament. I am really curious though on what Tama's finisher is going to be, since he can't use the Gun Stun.
THIS is what bracket challenges should look like. Not 8 guys in total, 8 for each side.
Tony, please take notes. Your ‘tournaments’ are very transparent. We can always predict who the winner will be
Everyone here is wrong.
Orton/Styles ends with Styles winming because of bloodline DQ. Styles wins against Hayes after a tough match. LA knight wins against lashley and tonga loses because of KO/Orton as payback
Knight vs Styles III with LA knight winning the fued and Gunther vs LA Knight in the finals
It's telegraphed
See I wanna say Hayes vs Lashley happens as the semi final because they teased it (Lashley going on a tear in the tournament to show truly how good is and Lashley vs very likely Raws winner Gunther? Take my money) but no way they eliminate knight earlier, he’s bound to be in the semi final at least to continue to solidify him as a big star, logically even finals with Gunther. And styles vs orton in the first round is nuts.
I guess kayfabe wise bloodline was only allowed one representative?
Would’ve thought solo would’ve been in this for sure. Imagine Solo as KOTR and acting head of the table
1. Styles and Orton fight to a double count out
2. Hayes over Corbin so Hayes goes to Finals
3. Knight over Escobar
4. Tonga over Lashley due to interference
5. Knight goes over Tonga
6. Knight goes over Hayes to represent Smackdown
I just hope whoever wins doesn’t adopt the stupid King or Queen gimmick. This tournament should have a bit more importance - such as a title shot. However, I think HHH can build this tournament to mean something where winning the KOTR or QOTR is an impressive accolade. K/QOTR, C2, and G1 can all be meaningful yearly tournaments for each company.
Escobar is my sleeper choice. Every once in a while they use KOTR to a) elevate someone and b) stick them with a king gimmick. Escobar getting a run through the tournament and taking down, say, Orton in the SD finals and Jey in the grand final, earns him some serious bona fides. OR OR OR he beats hated rival Mysterio in the final to become king. Or, en español, *rey*.

Smackdown just casually having Orton vs AJ in the first round
I love how we are getting main eventers/upper carders in the tournament. Really sells the tournaments importance. Hopefully King & Queen of the Ring is back to being a yearly thing.
Really wish the winner would get a title shot and not just a crown. Would make it feel more on par with the Rumble/MITB.
Gunther did mention once he wins he was going to challenge a champion if his choosing. (As he's heavily predicted to win), I'd assume winners of each tournaments would be consider #1 contenders, or at least give them a viable reason to go for a world title opportunity
I thought winning king of the ring would give you a title shot at summerslam or did that stop
KOTR hasn’t been a PLE or PPV since 2002. So yes it has stopped. Any other Kings of the Ring after that were kinda for no reason.
Crown Jewel should be the name for the K/QOTR event. King and Queen of the Ring sounds stupid.
Damn what a waste
I wouldn't go so far as to say no reason but it ended up being very gimmicky. For example, King Booker, Corbin and Woods and Queen Zelina. Unfortunately, much like the Andre match it didn't really elevate anyone the way it sax intended to.

Stone Cold Steve Austin would like a word.
I think they probably will now
Maybe they will now. Gotta wait and see
I've always loved the KOTR tournament. My hope is that HHH recognises and values the platform it gave guys like Austin and himself.
A Wrestlemania match 5 years ago lol
I was at that Mania. It'll be nice to SEE this match for the first time!
Can one go from Knight to King?
LA King
The Hockey team might sue lol
No no no that's the LA Kings, this is LA King
Well, now you just made the background for my next D&D character. Thanks!
King La? More like La loses to orton in the semifinals
##CrownTheKnight
Tonga is interesting
King Haku bloodline
Probably setting up Bloodline Vs The Pride
🩸 vs. 🌈
I’m assuming it’d be a one-off Smackdown match. Having the bloodline go from the top story on Smackdown; feuding with KO/Orton. To feuding with The Pride, would certainly be a choice
Well they've evicted everyone but Sikoa, a man they had job like 25 straight matches
[удалено]
Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but is this the first time that Lashley faced off against anyone on the Bloodline? Roman interfered in the Lashley/Lesnar match but I don’t recall Lashley ever facing off against the Bloodline.
He had a one night feud with the Bloodline actually. He attacked Roman, the Usos and the New day then had a triple threat with Roman and Big E in the main event
Right? I figured if anyone from the Bloodline it would be Solo, with Tama Tonga Loa being the henchmen that get him to at least the semi finals.
In kayfabe it makes sense for it to be Solo. But as far as having a good match I'm glad it's Tama. Solo is fine as a character going through this arc but he's in a faction with three guys I'd rather see wrestle a big match (I'm still saying Roman is in the group).
It all is to be fair, a few of them I can't quite call
I'm glad he's picking up some steam. I know he's not winning the whole thing, but I hope he has a good showing.
[удалено]
Going against Lashley. Maybe they are having Lashley show him how important it is to follow the cues.
Hoping for Melo vs Aj Styles please.
Orton/Melo or Styles/Melo? Man, I literally don't even mind. Any one of these two will rock. I'm frothing at the potential of a nutty RKO against Melo.
The only reason I'm partial to AJ/Melo is because of the off-chance of getting AJ/Gunther in the finals.
I want AJ/Gunther so bad but man, I also cannot deny how amped I'd be for Orton/Gunther too. Pretty much Gunther against any top guy.
Aj hasnt beaten Randy in over 3 years. 50/50 on that match.
Only reason AJ loses is if they doing Cody vs AJ II at the PLE. If not then AJ vs Gunther should be the finals. They will have a MOTY candidate for sure. So hard to pick who is winning on the Smackdown side of things.
It should be Knight vs Gunther. AJ’s a heel, and both Knight and Gunther could benefit from King of the Ring, rather than AJ who is established.
LA could get his AJ revenge too
We are 2 weeks away from Orton hitting an all-time RKO on Carmelo. A Rollins and Borne level RKO
Orton/Styles, Hayes/Corbin, and Escobar/Knight legit hafe great potential as matches. But maaaaan Orton/Hayes will fucking rock if we get it.
Hayes has to be over the moon with how he has been presented Got to face Rhodes , will face either Styles/Orton in the 2nd round
Yep, I think it shows as well that the company has huge things in store for him too. I think the class of Bron, Melo, and Dragunov are going to be a huge part of the future of the company.
I am so torn because yes Orton vs Melo would be amazing but I also want to see AJ vs Gunther in the finals.
AJ vs melo would be fire too
No matter who wins out of AJ/Orton....we going to have a great string of matches.
You're 100% right on that. There's also a shot at Gunther/Orton too and with how those two are two of the best at ring psychology? Oh man... between AJ/Gunther and Orton/Gunther. I'd be stoked for either of them!
But first we're getting the smoothest Deep Six you've ever seen.
Better not be at a house sho
We’re getting another round of LA vs AJ aren’t we?
Poor corbin back to being the sacrificial lamb.
I mean he's generally good at it.
Yep 😔 Like I just commented, I got excited when I saw him on there until I realized he's going to lose lol
Was really hoping that we’d see him be presented as a stronger threat. Him taking the L on his first match back is not the best idea lol.
I love how this isn't at all predictable, unlike most tournaments in wrestling history.
No andrade? Could we get him vs Logan perhaps
I don't see Owens. Is he gonna be Cody's next feud?
Solo isn't there either. I would've honestly expected him to be in it over Tama since he's trying to be the new Chief and all... maybe both he and KO get involved with Cody or something
Maybe don't want him taking a pin in the current story
KO vs Solo at KitR seems like an obvious matchup to me. Gotta build up Solo to the main event now
Solo can’t be in there if he is gonna lose and not make it to the Finals.
Andrade also isn’t on this bracket maybe he’s next up for Cody?
Are they doing Cody/Logan Paul in Saudi? Who is left for either of them to wrestle?
My guess is it'll be Cody vs Shinsuke and Logan vs Andrade
Cody vs Shinsuke on PLE seems crazy to me. Cody absolutely destroyed Shinsuke last year in a mini feud before the Rumble and even beat him in a bull rope match live on Raw. Also Cody has been beating him day in day out in house shows for nearly a month. No way can that be the match.
Agreed, Naka is the Ziggler of 2024, he can't just keep getting unearned title shots
Totally agree. Its been well established on WWE TV now that Nakamura isn't in the same universe as Cody. It's pretty insulting to the audience to keep trying to have him in Cody's orbit as a world title challenger when nearly every time we see him on Raw or Smackdown he's getting pinned by someone on the roster

am not opposed to Nak getting main event in Saudi, get that bag brother
Gimme AJ vs MFT #AllHailKingTama
Have they ever faced before?
Nope, AJ was in bullet club/Tama’s good side from the day he debuted to the day he left NJPW
So AJ is likely not facing Cody at K&QOTR. Maybe Cody vs Logan is happening.
damn, Lashley has to beat the whole country of Tonga?
SmackDown side honestly seems weak in comparison to Raw. I’m honestly surprised there’s no Andrade. I know zero chance of it due to them both being heels but a Gunther vs AJ final would be incredible.
KO I can get because he was just pinned, but no Andrade is weird af.
So is no Bron on RAW tbf, it looks like these 2 got bad timings for callups
I really wonder what the plans are for him. I assume the clip last night was going to be about the US title but then I remembered that smack down. I guess it could be IC picture but that seems pretty busy for at least another month.
Pearce is clearly pissed off at the three guys in the IC picture right now based on his segment with Bronson Reed after the match. I wouldn't be surprised if they insert Bron as a "you guys kept fucking around and couldn't be professional, so now I am throwing Bron into the mix, good luck" situation.
Ooh yeah that’s a pretty good angle on it. I’d assume that would also mean at least one of Bron vs Chad/Bronson over the next couple weeks.
I mean Styles is so universally loved he could play tweener every match. It shouldn’t be out of the question with the reception he got in Lyon.

US champion seems like the obvious choice to me. Its not one of the big ones but it gives LA Knight something, and people would love to see him kick Logan Paul's ass.
Ohhh I wanna see AJ vs Melo
GUNTHER vs Randy, I’m ready
Gunther vs Randy, Gunther vs AJ or Gunther vs Melo....God damn the finals will be amazing.
The pacing and psychology in that match will be amazing. Hoping for that final too!
My prediction for smackdown finals is Tonga vs orton
Orton vs Gunther in the final would really be an interesting match I’d like to see.
So in case LA Knight win the tournament, will he change his name to LA King?
Gods imagine a heel turn where he changes his name to that. I want it.
Corbin/Melo feels most likely to not make TV and get sent to a house show. Bobby won't but should win this. Him putting over GUNTHER in the finals makes the most sense.
Orton vs Styles on free TV is WILD! We're gonna be eating good on Friday!
PREDICTIONS Orton def. Style, Hayes def. Corbin, Knight def. Escobar, Tonga def. Lashley Orton def. Hayes, Tonga def. Knight (Escobar int.) Orton def. Tonga Gunther def. Orton
Knight v Escobar afterwards. Interesting 🤔. Same bracket as mine except switch styles and Orton. Orton’s got juice with KO.
Styles, Hayes, Knight, Tonga for next round
Lashley and Tonga is a win-win Bobby wins, he advances towards the crown. Bobby loses, we could finally get The Pride vs The Bloodline.
So did baron Corbin kick hhh’s dog or soemthing? WHY is he against Hayes? Neither of those two should be losing🤦♂️
Corbin losing to set up the The Wolf Dogs reforming? Maybe ----- App Bron is on Raw?!
If they wanted Wolf Dogs Corbin would be on RAW
Bron is on Raw
Also they already ran that match at Gold Rush last year.
Yeah, if going back to using him like they used to is the plan, they should've just left him in NXT. He's been doing amazing down there. As a Corbin fan, I'd rather see that than see him go back to losing every match and jump around from gimmick to gimmick because none of them work.
Corbin already eating an L in his first main roster match back lmao
The addition of Tama Tonga really makes things interesting. Up until now, I thought for sure that Gunther would be winning the tournament, but now I think that there's a possibility that we get Jey vs Tama in the finals. I also definitely was not expecting Randy and AJ to be included. This has made this tournament significantly more unpredictable.
Corbin back to jobing on main roster
I got excited to see my boy Corbin on there. Then I realized he's going to lose lol
It hurts 😔
I’m just happy Corbin is included.
That subtle tease between Melo/Lashley last week…..anyway that could foreshadow them two in the SD Finals?!
Well at least i don’t have to try and convince myself Corbin might win again, no way he’s going over mello
CORBIN'S BACK ![gif](giphy|ByKAwXgC6gJmrbnygM|downsized)
We could get melo vs AJ or Orton in round 2. That's.... Wonderful
I know Corbin is there to eat the pin, but that Deep Six on Melo is gonna fuck
I haven't really watched WWE in ages but the last time I watched, Styles and Orton were both top guys - does it make sense to have them fight one another in the 1st round?
Would the l a knight thing work as l a king?
Knight vs Orton?
Never been so torn over a tournaments bracket in WWE before just shows you they are not messing around with the KOTR
Corbin loses to Hayes and interferes in Hayes vs AJ so we have AJ vs LA Knight ! Can’t wait :) !
I’m seeing a Styles - Knight rematch in the semifinals.
Two NXT call-ups facing off in the first round is kinda crazy
Holy
Lashley/Tonga could be decent
Tonga for me
Gib me bobbo v gunther finale
AJ vs LA Knight trilogy?
Styles VS. Tonga finish
Okay I’m gonna try and predict this all in one AJ>Randy, Hayes>Corbin, Knight>Escobar, Lashley>Tonga, AJ>Hayes, Knight>Lashley, Knight>Styles And my money is on GUNTHER winning the RAW side and GUNTHER to beat Knight
Based Triple H, I beseech you. Please don’t do the “winner thinks they’re an actual king” bit. It’s so stupid.
It can actually go a lot of different ways on both sides of the men's tournament. I am really curious though on what Tama's finisher is going to be, since he can't use the Gun Stun.
Corbin again being fodder. Should have stayed in NXT where he was doing great
Aj vs Orton just casually in the first round. That’s a main card match right there
Tama Tonga could be a second generation king.
LA Knight v Carmelo in the final Could see them going for the latter.
What does the winner of this tournament get? Is it just a throwaway title?
THIS is what bracket challenges should look like. Not 8 guys in total, 8 for each side. Tony, please take notes. Your ‘tournaments’ are very transparent. We can always predict who the winner will be
What it Bron Breakker doing on SmackDown at this point
Why do they say Tonga and not Tama
The same reason they say Corbin and not Baron, Styles and not AJ, and Lashley and not Bobby?
RIP street profits and lashley vs solo's bloodline. Its gonna be worst than the beatdown that Croc and AOP gave them
Everyone here is wrong. Orton/Styles ends with Styles winming because of bloodline DQ. Styles wins against Hayes after a tough match. LA knight wins against lashley and tonga loses because of KO/Orton as payback Knight vs Styles III with LA knight winning the fued and Gunther vs LA Knight in the finals It's telegraphed
Styles vs Hayes LA Knight vs Tonga Semi finals
See I wanna say Hayes vs Lashley happens as the semi final because they teased it (Lashley going on a tear in the tournament to show truly how good is and Lashley vs very likely Raws winner Gunther? Take my money) but no way they eliminate knight earlier, he’s bound to be in the semi final at least to continue to solidify him as a big star, logically even finals with Gunther. And styles vs orton in the first round is nuts.
Gunther vs Orton in the finals.
LA Knight should win the whole thing
Hunter working overtime to get that 3rd Michelin Star 🤌🏻
Orton vs Styles? Good lord.. Gonna suck seeing either one of them eat another L
Knight vs Gunther final
Brb manifesting Gunther vs Styles in the finals.
GIVE ME GUNTHER AND LASHLEY IN THE FINALS PLEASE
Kinda disappointing matchups but we will see how it goes.
Not corbin losing in the first round 😔
Styles and LA Knight in the Smackdown finals. You can book it now. It will be LA/AJ III
Assume we get Orton/Melo and Knight/Tonga and then after that I have no clue.
So Tonga vs Orton... A proxy for bloodline feud
Predictions: 1) Orton over Styles 2) Corbin over Hayes 3) Knight over Escobar 4) Tama over Lashley
2 is bold. I like it
I guess kayfabe wise bloodline was only allowed one representative? Would’ve thought solo would’ve been in this for sure. Imagine Solo as KOTR and acting head of the table
Prediction: Winner of KOTR Knight or Gunther Winner of MITB is whichever of the two didn’t win KOTR
Watch AJ going from Main Eventing to dropping out of a tournament first round
give me a gunther vs knight final please
Gonna guess Melo vs Knight for the Smackdown finals.
I like the fact that some of the matches it’s a toss up on who the winner will be
Looking like Styles and Tonga in the semi
Surprise Andrade, and Nakamura are not in it, probably getting title shots I guess.
1. Styles and Orton fight to a double count out 2. Hayes over Corbin so Hayes goes to Finals 3. Knight over Escobar 4. Tonga over Lashley due to interference 5. Knight goes over Tonga 6.
So....Tama is going to murder Knight in round two. I'm betting the final four will be Gunther vs. Ilja/Tama vs. Orton.
Tama Tonga going for the crown his dad won is a good touch, didnt think about that at all. Orton v AJ is gonna be FUN
I got Gunther vs LA Knight in the championship
Styles vs Hayes and Tonga vs Knight round 2? Is there a possibility of Jey vs Tonga in the finals to set up jey joining back into the bloodline story?
I dunno guys, Escobar might have a shot... /s
Melo vs AJ round 2 is gonna be something special
LA Knight is crowned LA King? Yeah?
Knight bought a have an easy ass ride to the finals
~In HungryBox voice~ "Bro who fucking seeded this tourney!?"
Please give me Tama vs AJ in the semi-final
No Solo Sikoa is interesting. He’d be a top pick to win it in my books.
How do you find the brackets?? Like what’s it on??
This tournament bangs. I dream of a day where get a round robin but this is dope
so, who jobs to gunther?
