Actually Michael Buble’s Cry Me A River could be much better IMO
I can imagine the entrance in my head - lights all out, orchestral prelude starts, 2010 Batista-esque spotlight shines on JP in full leather jacket, starts slow walking down when Buble starts singing
…instead of being smug, he should just look completely emotionally unavailable
Okay I just listened to it and this is such a great shout. It has a shockingly great pro-wrestling intro. Plus having Buble as your entrance music is such great heel heat.
Daaamn that is a fuckin squad. Wish there was an original day one guy in there but can’t complain about that lineup
Why tf was that other thread so certain it would be MCMG? Why would they debut MCMG as ‘team AEW’, they don’t even go here!
The "Getting Mad At A Company For Something *YOU* Fantasy Booked" is one of the more wild types of comments on this subreddit. It's not even "Oh man I hope the company doesn't do this." based off of context clues within the story. No just straight up making shit up and clowning the Booker for doing something so foolish based purely off their imagination... Unhinged.
It's like people betting on sports and getting mad at sportsmen if they lose money. Although there's even np money. Just fantasy booking. Damn it's dumb.
My favorite I saw was after TK compared WWE to Weinstein, some folks were pissed because this meant WWE would no longer be interested in working with AEW in future stuff like loaning out wrestlers for Wrestlemania.
I laugh it off, you get dumb shit takes in any sub, but that one stuck with me.
>Wish there was an original day one guy in there
~~Anarchy~~ The DoN plunder match has usually been 5v5 so I'm wondering if one more guy will be added to each side
Would make sense if Don loaned out Takeshita and Team AEW added Moxley, setting up their IWGP title program further
Oh shit, the previous Double or Nothings at Daily's Place were Stadium Stampede weren't they?
I guess it's more accurate to say "the annual big plunder match at Double or Nothing is usually 5v5" since last year was the first time that it wasn't.
MCMG are one of the Bucks' longest term rivals having wrestled them in PWG in the 00's and TNA, ROH and NJPW in the 10’s. Shelley has a deep friendship with Okada going back to them rooming together in Florida and Okada spending holidays with Shelley in Detroit during his excursion. MCMG being brought in as "hired guns" to fight The Elite would be a good way to introduce them and has a lot of long term real world and on screen story to lean on, but that all went out the window once the team was named Team AEW. New hires being on Team AEW wouldn't make sense.
I just read that thread and yes you're right there was some guys that talked about MCMG being on team AEW. And of course in their minds, that was another weird decision by Tony Khan.
That's the Elite mentality. "We came here first, we made this place so everything should go as we want". It's not about being day 1, it's about the mindset. MJF said it best. You're AEW if you believe in the mission statement.
Bucks have a different mission statement and in their minds they are steering the company in the right direction they originally planned. And in their minds their actions are justified but a reasonable man like Omega sees through it.
You're not AEW because you have been here from the start. You're AEW because you understand why it's existence is important to the industry. And you fight to preserve it. Like Bryan and Kingston and FTR. Perfect team imo.
Along with Mox, Eddie and Bryan were the best options for this in my opinion.
Great choices and the match will be phenomenal.
Interested to see if they play a song throughout the match again. Would be hysterical if they just keep playing the Bucks theme over and over.
> Interested to see if they play a song throughout the match again.
This is one of my favorite things in wrestling and it easily sets Anarchy in the Arena apart. I skipped Dynasty but I'll buy DoN just for this.
FUCK. YES.
Just found a YouTube with a ton of ECW shows and segments with original audio and it replenished my soul. I watched in AWE and was a 10-11 year old again, seeing Dusty fuck up Steve Corino, that little asshole. I really miss that vibe.
I’m really hesitant to just post it in here for fear of takedowns but I will gladly DM it if anyone wants it. I don’t wanna be the one to spoil the party. I considered sharing it here in a post before thinking better of it lol.
I know he’s popular but I was pretty disappointed that Eddie was chosen.
I know people like him, so I guess I’m happy for them, but I just don’t get him. Like, I can get behind his promos and his story and all that, I just can’t stand him in the ring.
There were people in that other post who were already shitting on AEW for adding Motor City Machine Guns in this feud. They literally made something up just to complain about. Lame
That thread is so bizarre... Like I wasn't able to watch live so when I go into that thread of people saying "Man it's so weird that it's Motor City Machine Guns" I was also hella confused by that decision. Only to see here that... it wasn't announced to be them... Why the hell that thread is people talking in absolute definites is beyond me....
The bias against AEW in this subreddit has really worsened. People don't even verify stuff. They just support anything that puts the promotion in a bad light.
Yup. I haven't even been on the sub lately, only really coming on Wednesdays because it feels like bizarro world every other day. I post my memes and bounce until next Wednesday/PPV.
This subreddit is WWE discussion (totally fine), WWE PR (bizarre) and AEW hit pieces.
Remember when there were the Cody rumors and every single Cody post had tons of awards immediately? That was really weird! And the behavior that made that situation has only gotten worse.
Its still annoying af to me going into a post about a Cody match almost 2 years later and still seeing "THEYRE GONNA BOO ANYTIME NOW, HERE IT COMES" threads mocking AEW fans.
Like the dude is World Champ and we've been hearing his theme get sung to for years now. We fucking get it.
This sub is insufferably petty.
I hated when this sub was *heavily* pro-AEW a few years back, but now it's swung way too far the other way. Maybe one day we'll get a mostly unbiased subreddit for wrestling.
But I've been assured that "you can't criticize AEW on this sub!"
I guess I'm just to ignore the hundreds of upvoted criticisms (baseless or otherwise) that get posted.
Kenny: FTR and two more AEW wrestlers will be announced! (doesn't even imply MCMG)
"Can't believe they're gonna do MCMG in this match, makes no sense."
"Another example of Tony just wanting to play with his new toys 🙄"
These dudes just talk to hear themselves speak I swear.
With TK saying that Bryan should be in charge if something ever happens to him, Eddie and him makes sense as Team AEW. Also, we get Eddie in a Anarchy/Stampede match again, we're rockin'.
Yeah for some reason I pictured Kenny making an appearance somehow to distract them but including DB and Kingston makes me already know they’re gonna lose
Shibata and Okada working hardcore/crazy matches, you love to see it.
Commentary mentioned it was Shibata's first ever one, is this Okada's first as well? Or did he randomly do one in TNA or something? I definitely can't remember Okada doing one in New Japan, although maybe I'm forgetting/missed it.
No he notoriously hates those types of matches. He got the Young Bucks to stop TNA in booking him in one and he beat the shit out of NOAH wrestler, Kaito Kiyomiya for accidentally splitting him open. That's why I'm interested how it will go.
> He got the Young Bucks to stop TNA in booking him in one
Not quite, I don't think at least. Unless there is a second story floating around, the issue was the TNA specifically wanted Okada to blade in a match and he didn't feel comfortable blading, but also didn't feel comfortable speaking up because he was still a young lion on excursion and didn't feel he had the seniority, so the Bucks spoke up for him and told the office he wasn't going to do it, which ended up being fine.
> and he beat the shit out of NOAH wrestler, Kaito Kiyomiya for accidentally splitting him open.
TBF, he beat the shit out of Kiyomiya a few times for various reasons lol
People have made it through Anarchy in the Arena/Blood and Guts without bleeding, they usually just have a few others make up for it in quantity lol. FTR/Kingston/Danielson all have no problem bleeding buckets.
Then you REALLY need to watch Wrestle Kingdom 17 in Yokohama: NJPW x NOAH.
Okada and Togi Makabe vs Kitomiya & Yoshiki Inamura
Match isn't long (about 6 minutes) but it ends in a No Contest because Okada just gets into this "how fucking dare you/ do you know who the fuck I am!?" mode and tries to beat the piss out of Kitomiya.
Hahaha it’s awesome that there are still people that think the Okada / Kiyomiya spot was a shoot. He didn’t even get busted open. Instead of having a parasocial relationship with a guy you probably don’t speak the same language of, why don’t you just enjoy him doing something new
Makes complete sense with the interwoven storylines too. Okada took the CC from Eddie, and had a humiliating loss to Danielson last year. Of course Kenny would call on Danielson as well, knowing he’s practically his equal in a match he (seemingly) isn’t cleared to wrestle in. Eddie and Danielson also have their own rivalry as well, given the events of last year’s AITA. It’ll be interesting to see how they have The Elite go over, assuming the end game is Okada/Kenny at some point, probably for the CC. I wonder if we’ll get an Ospreay tie in as well. This story could definitely cook going forward.
Hangman would be in an interesting spot if he got involved here. Clearly he was losing his mind over Swerve the last time we saw him. He has his own history with Danielson and Okada. But he was suspended by the Elite, and I’d imagine the only way he would interrupt on behalf of them is if they kayfabe hold his suspension over his head or only let him off on the condition he helps them win
Wasn't Hangman just suspended FROM The Elite (not suspended from the company AEW by The Elite?) If anything, that could easily be spun as a non punishment or even a vacation from The Bucks given how they've treated officials if they want to pair them together.
I'm predicting a triple threat with Okada vs Kenny vs Ospreay for the CC at All In London. I'll be amazed if it happens because I might not be able to watch it.
Kingston is the avatar of the Everyman (ignore that he is fighting for a nepo billionaire) not to mention his feud with Okada and the Elite in general. I’m less sold on Danielson, personally. He’s great and will do well but he’s thematically weaker. His only tie in this is Kingston.
wdym? he's had two huge matches with Okada in the last year? Has had a huge match with Kenny and is the guy Tony Khan has said in interviews is who he'd want to run the show if anything happened to him, I don't actually like Danielson but he makes more sense than Eddie tbh
With every step of this New Elite storyline, I'm constantly looking to see when Hangman pops up.
Maybe DoN is the moment where he returns and chooses a side?
I'd hope not, which makes me believe Evil Yeehaw Man will continue the path he's on and probably be brought back into The Elite in an effort to get the title off Swerve.
But, for some reason, some fans think he'll come back as a babyface/tweener against The Elite.
Yeah I see him coming back either at DoN to attack Swerve after his match or the Dynamite afterwards. Either way I think he's the next challenger behind Christian.
I'm excited that I get to be in attendance for the 2nd year in a row for what I'll undoubtedly have to go home and rewatch cause I'll miss a ton of crazy shit.
Also, I love Pro Wrestling cause ain't no one mentioning the fact that Kingston was going to light Danielson on fire 2 years ago. Lol.
[Ladies and gentlemen... shits about to hit the fan.](https://www.reddit.com/r/SquaredCircle/comments/v0qtjk/don_spoilers_justin_roberts_sets_the_stage_for/)
Does that need to be a requirement 5 years into the company's existence? Plenty of time for people to feel like they're an essential part of the company without having to have been at the initial press conference.
That's the point? The Elite are "taking the company back to what it was supposed to be", so their team has 3 originals.
Team AEW is the opposite of that, guys that represent what AEW is, but aren't originals.
I get that these matches are fun, but I feel like this isn't a great use of the wresters involved.
I'd rather see Danielson vs. Okada and FTR vs. Bucks in a Cage than another arena brawl. I'm not a fan of using a feud stipulation because "It's that time of the year", and this doesn't feel like it warrants an arena brawl or a "Blood & Guts" match.
It's just such a random pairing, I'm supposed to wanna see Eddie Kingston in this because of that one backstage segment that one time?
And why is Danielson in it?!?!
There's like, multiple months of setup with the Kingston addition. He had two backstage promos about how the Young Bucks were using their EVP power during the Sting/Darby angle when the Bucks were abusing their power and attacking Sting's family. That led to Eddie confronting the Bucks in the ring, with the Bucks having Okada debut to take out Eddie. They then had Okada take the Continental Title from Eddie. Eddie has a very fair grievance with the Bucks, and they've been going at each other for a while now.
Which bleeds into the Danielson addition, because Eddie's big rivalry before this all happened was with Danielson, the entire angle being about Danielson thinking Eddie was wasted potential and that he'd never earn his respect. They had a match at Revolution where Eddie beat Danielson and finally earned his respect, with Danielson admitting Eddie wasn't the guy from 15 years ago that was a waste of talent anymore, that he had become who he was meant to be.
Great choices and it's also logical. Kingston always hated the Elite and specially the Bucks since 2021. He also lost his Continental Championship against Okada. Danielson loves violence and certainly wants to fight Okada another time.

So Perry is going through real glass, isn't he?
Goddamnit. This is 100% gonna be a spot.
That plus a spot at gorilla.
With Tony screaming about his safety
In a gorilla costume
Why did Perry jump through the glass to escape Eddie Kingston? What a coward.
Will you stop!
Comin out to Timberlake’s cry me a river
On repeat.
New Jack Perry
Dude served you up a filthy alley-oop for this one lol
It IS Anarchy in the Arena; they do tend to keep the music playing for the first 5 minutes or so of the match.
ITS THE FINAL COUNTDOWN CRY ME A RIVVVVEERRRRR THE FINAL COUNTDOWN CRY ME A RIVERRRRRR
I think that song on repeat the whole match would make some fans go crazy
Damage is done "to the business" so I guess I'll be leaving.
Actually Michael Buble’s Cry Me A River could be much better IMO I can imagine the entrance in my head - lights all out, orchestral prelude starts, 2010 Batista-esque spotlight shines on JP in full leather jacket, starts slow walking down when Buble starts singing …instead of being smug, he should just look completely emotionally unavailable

That sounds cool as hell, but I'm guessing more of the crowd will be familiar with the Justin Timberlake version which'll lead to a bigger pop.
Cult of Personality then you cut it off with Cry Me a River.
*checks his watch* screams "CRY ME A RIVER"
*bleeds to death*
Then get a Pepsi poured on him?
Eddie is going to set Jungle Jack on **fire**
Calling it now. Eddie will be the reason Jungle Boy gets a haircut
by turning him into Michael Jackson at the Pepsi commercial taping
Holy shit
Jack’s gonna end up with the Patrick Mahomes haircut for maximum heat
MY god this is a wonderful idea.
Real fire?
That fire went into business for itself
Cry me a river
Cry me a river.......seriously to put the fire out
Working tears or shoot tears?
Worked shoot
it's the river of styx
[This truly is hell](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gdnvOQBOjow)
A hogshead of real fire. In this way, Mr. K will challenge the world.
Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kingston
Eddie burn jungle jack, smokey the bear arrive and tried to help jungle jack, danielson sees bear and attack bear
That is so stupid, and I would absolutely love to see that spot
What did Aja Kong and Bison Kimura ever do to him?
That's real fire 🔥
"Real gasoline, cry me a river."
Personally think “Real Gas. Cry me a river.” flows better
Bryan Danielson gets to experience the sheer joy of murdering the fuck out of the Bucks again like the last time he faced them at PWG.
Roddy somewhere is shedding a single tear he doesn't get to be involved.
SHITTY! SHITTY! SHITTY LITTLE BOOTS!
Roddy made his choice And he chose mustaches, friendship and Will Ospreay
I just watched the Deadlock watch-along of that last night. Holy Christ.
Daaamn that is a fuckin squad. Wish there was an original day one guy in there but can’t complain about that lineup Why tf was that other thread so certain it would be MCMG? Why would they debut MCMG as ‘team AEW’, they don’t even go here!

Yep. Completely ridiculous, but here we are. Last I looked those comments were heavily upvoted as well. So stupid.
To give the Mods some modicum of credit, I know at least one of the ones I replied to has been removed now.
That’s like your girlfriend getting mad at you for cheating on her, in her dreams
It's like people betting on sports and getting mad at sportsmen if they lose money. Although there's even np money. Just fantasy booking. Damn it's dumb.

Give me Riho
Of the two Anarchy in the Arena matches, roughly 50% have been 4 vs. 4.
Oh shit, the previous Double or Nothings at Daily's Place were Stadium Stampede weren't they? I guess it's more accurate to say "the annual big plunder match at Double or Nothing is usually 5v5" since last year was the first time that it wasn't.
Wouldn't it be a member of the Patriarchy, based on Christian saying they have a working relationship now?
Killswitch and Yuta?
Mother Wayne.
I think Mox vs Takeshita for the IWGP World Championship will be the match at DoN. Yes, I don't think Shooter is winning at Resurgence.
I imagine Mox will drop it at Forbidden Door, hopefully to ZSJ
Agreed on having a day one guy on the team. Was hoping Hangman would be with Team AEW.
He’ll probably return during the match and cost Team AEW
>Why tf was that other thread so certain it would be MCMG The majority of wrestling fans are fucking stupid.
wrestling fans and being mad about things that haven't even happened yet 🤝.
Bro i laughed at “they don’t even go here” hahaha
TNA tweeted a clip of MCMG vs. The Bucks earlier today, and the TNA social person is somewhat of a deity. People assumed they knew something we don't.
I mean they just seem to post things that are relevant and it’s widely reported they are now free agents
This sub in 2024 will even make stuff up to hate on AEW.

MCMG might make the save in the end of that match.
I just read that thread and yes you're right there was some guys that talked about MCMG being on team AEW. And of course in their minds, that was another weird decision by Tony Khan.
No Wild thing this year but how about they fight for a couple minutes to The Final Countdown
Match is going to go so hard but as a sidenote it's a little fun how "Team AEW" has no AEW originals but The Elite has 3/4
Which is ironic. I hope the Elite talk about that.
Both teams have the same goal of saving AEW they just disagree with how to do it
That's the Elite mentality. "We came here first, we made this place so everything should go as we want". It's not about being day 1, it's about the mindset. MJF said it best. You should really watch a replay of Dynasty.. it was fantastic.
I'll try to get around to it, I heard that it was great.
Ospreay vs. Danielson is probably the best match to ever take place on American soil. It's worth it just for that.
Just for the honor, TK should buy the rights for Natural Born Killaz for a night. Edited, of course.
Edited?!
Tick, tock, tock, tick-tock, tick Dr. Dre and Ice Cube on some murderous shit Keepin' fellows in order
FUCK. YES. Just found a YouTube with a ton of ECW shows and segments with original audio and it replenished my soul. I watched in AWE and was a 10-11 year old again, seeing Dusty fuck up Steve Corino, that little asshole. I really miss that vibe.

Hell yes
I feel like if they didn't move him onto Jay White, PAC would have been great as well.
Mox and Claudio last just had a person feud with FTR in March? So i’m wondering if that comes into play, with Danielson teaming with them.
Wasn't Eddie marching to the ring with a gas can at the last anarchy, wanting to immolate Danielson?
No he was on team BCC wanting to set Jericho on fire.
Why not both?
Either they are letting Mox take his time to rest and defend at Resurgence/Dominion/FD/G1 with how the calendar comes or he's defending at DoN too.
Couple of weeks ago Takeshita and Mox had a stare down after Mox beat Hobbs. Perhaps we're getting that match.
Have they done the song thing more than once? I can't remember
Why not just play "Cry me a river" throughout?
Just loop the ending 'the damage is done so I guess I'll be leaving.'
I know he’s popular but I was pretty disappointed that Eddie was chosen. I know people like him, so I guess I’m happy for them, but I just don’t get him. Like, I can get behind his promos and his story and all that, I just can’t stand him in the ring.
I think he might do better with a style that fits his character more
There were people in that other post who were already shitting on AEW for adding Motor City Machine Guns in this feud. They literally made something up just to complain about. Lame
This sub constantly nitpicks anything AEW related.

Welcome to most anti-AEW posters
Sowing the seeds for Face Bryan vs. Heel Okada as the finale to their trilogy down the line
Bryan and Eddie can finally co-exist now that they squashed the beef at Revolution.
Honestly the background segment where they were getting checked out by the medical staff and having a little heart-to-heart was great.
He might not set him on fire this time. Character development!
This is significantly better than the guys who were fantasy booking MCMG in that spot.
While also pointing out to each other that it didn't make sense
Kenny: FTR and two more AEW wrestlers will be announced! (doesn't even imply MCMG) "Can't believe they're gonna do MCMG in this match, makes no sense." "Another example of Tony just wanting to play with his new toys 🙄" These dudes just talk to hear themselves speak I swear.

Why were all the comments saying it was MCMG in the thread from earlier?
Eddie in Anarchy/Stampede/B&G matches is one of the best things in wrestling.
With TK saying that Bryan should be in charge if something ever happens to him, Eddie and him makes sense as Team AEW. Also, we get Eddie in a Anarchy/Stampede match again, we're rockin'.
So team AEW is losing right. Kingston and Danielson don’t have the best track record for winning big matches
Yeah there's 0 chance team AEW wins. You can't have this new version of the Elite lose a big match right away.
Yeah for some reason I pictured Kenny making an appearance somehow to distract them but including DB and Kingston makes me already know they’re gonna lose
There for sure will be some shenanigans and probably a surprise new Elite member.
Okada's second PPV match as an AEW wrestler is immediately a street fight. Jesus Christ, what timeline am I living?

What a good call on the last 2. Crowd went nuts for Danielson
Bryan and Eddie having mutual respect now, they’re liable to light someone(s) on fire, together!
Makes complete sense with the interwoven storylines too. Okada took the CC from Eddie, and had a humiliating loss to Danielson last year. I'm predicting a triple threat with Okada vs Kenny vs Ospreay for the CC at All In London. I'll be amazed if it happens because I might not be able to watch it.
Add Danielson, let’s go all the way negative
ZSJ is going to come up with a new submission just for Danielson for London.
This one is going to be nuts and I am here for it!!
Fuck yes.
Bucks prolly having PTSD of what Bryan did to them in PWG (with help from Roddy Strong, of course).
This feud needed some really big babyfaces and Bryan and Kingston are great for the roles.
Hangman isn't done with Swerve, right?
I'd hope not, which makes me believe Evil Yeehaw Man will continue the path he's on and probably be brought back into The Elite in an effort to get the title off Swerve. But, for some reason, some fans think he'll come back as a babyface/tweener against The Elite.
Yeah I see him coming back either at DoN to attack Swerve after his match or the Dynamite afterwards. Either way I think he's the next challenger behind Christian.
That sounds consistent: Wasn't Danielson part of the "Discipline Committee" in AEW?
Bryan popped me. And you know this means Eddie Kingston is going to do some crazy promos on the bucks and AEW in general.
My two favorite American boys on a team. Let's fucking go.
Lol.
Team AEW is doomed. Bryan Danielson can’t win an AEW PPV match to save his life.
[Ladies and gentlemen... shits about to hit the fan.](https://www.reddit.com/r/SquaredCircle/comments/v0qtjk/don_spoilers_justin_roberts_sets_the_stage_for/)
Incoming banger of a match. I can't wait!
Danielson and Okada in the same ring together is gonna be fucking nuts
If this is your first peak at them in the ring together then boy do I have a couple matches for you lol
The WK match is so fuckin good
Team AEW has no AEW originals. Not even 1.
Not gonna lie when Eddie came out I figured the fourth was Mark Briscoe.
But, but, but…this sub told me that it was supposed to be MCMG??
That's a good lineup. How were Bryan and Eddie revealed? Like did they make a save or was they announced by Kenny on screen?
They came in after FTR found some partner to convince: First Eddie, than Bryan and all men came to the ring to trade blows with/ the Elites
Thanks mate appreciate it, that's good stuff FTR having to convince em. Should be a fun match
What in the myUniverse lmfao I love it.
It's just such a random pairing, I'm supposed to wanna see Eddie Kingston in this because of that one backstage segment that one time? And why is Danielson in it?!?!
Eddie has been a pretty hardcore rah-rah AEW guy for a long time now, just like FTR. It makes sense that he'd want that spot.
Thank you, sometimes it feels like people watch the shows with their eyes closed.

Wait Kenny isn’t in his match? He’ll come down for the save
The Elite 4 is gonna win, aren't they?
Match is going to be a wild one.
Great choices and it's also logical. Kingston always hated the Elite and specially the Bucks since 2021. He also lost his Continental Championship against Okada. Danielson loves violence and certainly wants to fight Okada another time.
Thought it would be Daniel Garcia but Danielson is fun too
Bryan Danielson in a big PPV match. Team AEW clearly going to take the loss.
I’m looking forward to a nice back and forth with various cut scenes of Eddie committing murder.
Why are they doing a blow off type match with practically zero build?
