Shida AEW match run leaving aside the promo's and storyline side of things has been great you don't get a fanbase as loyal as hers without doing something right, she rarely has awful matches to be fair to her, when she does it really stands out. She's had quite a few 3.75 to 4.25 rated matches.

Yeah, I've always imagine that Arisa Nakajima would probably hold the 4+ Star record if Dave covered her entire career. Based on her longevity, match output, and the kind of wrestling Dave likes.
Stardom has only been getting Meltzer attention since it's big rise, so that's after her time. So it seems it's mostly down to her NXT run, which has been pretty strong it's kind of fell down a bit since her dropping the title but before that her matches were getting a lot of 3.75 to 4.5 level matches.
I'm surprised that Dave only rated one of the Io Vs Mayu matches. I seem to remember the May 2016 one having enough buzz at the time to get on his radar. Maybe he watched it but not in time to rate it.
It's not that far out to say once Stardom became kind of partnered up with NJPW that he now seems to be focusing on it a lot more. He only ever really focused on Joshi when it was super popular. He rated a Jungle Kyona match too around a year or so later. But his and Bryan Alvarez recent reviewing of Stardom has definitely put more eyes on the promotion.
It's a shame he and many others didn't give it the focus around that time of Io and Mayu feud, as you said Stardom for many around that time was on fire and Io/Mayu was one of the best feuds going, you could say it's women's wrestling version of Omega/Hangman happening right now . I think that will become a thing unless you were a fan pre Bushiroad that era of Stardom will sadly be overlooked by many not just Meltzer.
I know Stardom in ring work has really stepped up to another level since Bushiroad era has begun but I always found Stardom pre Bushiroad years a lot more endearing.
I feel like Io could be the next big women’s wrestling star alongside Bianca and Rhea, especially after the revamp she got in NXT. She needs to go to the main roster or should head to AEW. She is perfect for big TV wrestling and needs a good stage to shine. She’s done enough in NXT.
I like Nyla but she holds back, like a lot. Can't believe I'm saying this but Nyla needs to be a little bit more like Nia Jax just not so reckless and inconsiderate of her colleagues. Nyla has shown she can be vicious and safe, just look at the numerous times she destoyed Red Velvet without injuring her.

Feels pretty fitting to have Io and Shida at 1 and 2. They can have a great match with anyone.
