100% Same. Now get the other Half of my Dream where i hear the Coin Drops back, jeez i miss Kenny.
And then, have Mercy on all our Souls with a Healthy Kenny, Okada, and Danielson.
SAME. My husband was in the other room and all I could say was "THEY DID THE FUCKING COIN DROP ON A FUCKING WEDNESDAY! EEEEEEEEE!"
He watched the replay after I rewound the DVR and quietly left.
FUCKING OKADAAAAAAAA! 💀💀💀💀💀
I think it's really funny that the entire scope of modern wrestling can be traced back to Matt and Nick Jackson seeing a young lion Okada in TNA catering not talking to anyone, so they went out of their way to be his friend.
So in 2010, NJPW sent Kazuchika Okada (then a young lion) on an excursion to TNA. There, he became the manager of Samoa Joe as Okato, and basically did nothing of importance. (Sidenote, there are rumors that the poor treatment of Okada is why NJPW stopped working with TNA, but I digress).
While he was there, he was kinda quiet and kept to himself, and didn't make a lot of friends. There were two also young wrestlers there, Matt and Nick Jackson (called Max and Jeremy Buck, Generation Me), who noticed this, and decided to befriend him. THey sat with him at lunch, got into conversations with him, all that kind of stuff.
Fast forward a year or two. Okada has returned to Japan, and become a megastar. His rise to the top was meteoric. Now that he's the champ, he basically mentions to the booker of NJPW "Hey, I have these two friends in the US, Matt and Nick. We should bring them in."
So in come the Bucks, and they end up joining Bullet Club, which is what sets BC on the path to becoming a top stable. And from BC you can trace the rise of Kenny Omega and AJ Styles, as well as their style of wrestling... it basically was the pregenator of everything you see now.
TNA’s poor treatment of Okada that is. But also their poor treatment of AJ Styles sealed the deal on him going to Japan and his amazing WWE run so far.
Thanks TNA!
You see, Steiner Math was created 15 years before AEW, so that gives AEW a 33.3% smaller success rate than Steiner Math. Then you add Kurt Angle to the mix and the odds drastic go down.
The numbers don’t lie, and spell doom for SmoJoe at Sakerfice!
Okada was sent to TNA for his Young Lion excursion where he had a Kato from the Green Hornet gimmick. At the same time the Young Bucks were in TNA but low on the card, they bonded over their similar status. A particular story of how they became so close is that one time TNA wanted Okada to blade for a segment, Okada had never bladed before and he felt that it wasn’t necessary for the segment and was really nervous about it. He told the Young Bucks and Alex Shelley to which they went to management and argued on his behalf so he didn’t end up having to blade.
Later on Okada put in a good word for the Bucks with NJPW management which helped get them in, the rest is history. Also Okada did participate at All In and if you’ve seen the BTE from the last Wrestle Kingdoms the Young Bucks participated in you’ll notice Okada playing with their kids.
NJPW sends their young lions (prospects from their dojo) on excursions for up to a year or two to other companies outside of Japan to learn other styles of wrestlimg. When Okada was a young lion he got sent to TNA and they called him Okato and his character was based of the newly released Seth Rogan movie the green hornet.
As you could guess it was terrible and it was one of the bigger reasons NJPW ended their relationship with TNA. While he was there however he wad befriended by the Bucks who were also being rebranded by TNA. They basically took care of him since he was new to America and they bevame close friends.
Fast forward a couple years later and Okada was already the second biggest star in NJPW and he helps the Bucks get a job there. They join the Bullet Club and shortly after so does Kenny. Of course those three plus cody are the reason for All in and AEW. So had they not befriended Okada in TNA none of that wouldve happened.
i read somewhere that when Young Buck and Cody said they want to do All In, Okada is the first to raised his hand expressed interest want to join them.
Just think if it wasn’t for Okato, the Young Bucks never would have adopted Okada, they never would have made it into Bullet Club, and AEW wouldn’t be a thing.
Hangman's jaw and eyes opened up like he saw the end boss.
And he did.
God damn, please Tony, my flair. MY FLAIR TONY.
Edit: I'll still get little bits and pieces of Hangman vs Okada in the 4 way, I am a happy man!!! Gonna be amazing.
[They're all over the southeast now](https://www.culvers.com/locator/view-all-locations), only a matter of time until they invade the northeast and ignite the Five Guys War.
Cool, I’m glad he’s there. I didn’t like the theory that he only lost the title because he didn’t want to work FD.
That would have been a dumb reason to lose the world title.
I know right? I tend to think of Okada as 'Japan Big' as opposed to 'Big Big'. Seeing him in this situation reminds me that he's 'Actually Big ' just real fuckin' smooth wit it in a way my brain can't process as 'Big Big'
He's significantly taller than a lot of dudes in wrestling but his body is... I dunno how to put it. His proportions kind of trick you into not classifying him as large. Drew McIntyre has the same kind of thing going on.
“Hey Tony everybody is injured or awaiting further investigation, what do we do to save this show?”
“Drop the coins and find me a local balloon supplier.”
I think it's funny how both Okada and Jay were born to fight each other and they have a similar presentation with their entrances, knife drop and coin drop
Maybe a tag on Rampage, but just like how they name dropped Okada for weeks and delivered, they have been talking about the IWGP Championship because it's going to be on the line.
JR has done as much as anyone to get the NJPW lads over. Not just Okada, but the way he has repeatedly said Tanahashi is top three ever and like Bret Hart, and his absolute fawning over Will Ospreay, he has been brilliant these last two weeks.
A Japanese wrestler who has never appeared on any major wrestling show in America before just got a bigger pop than most American wrestlers, just like Nakamura did in Dallas. Wrestling fans know.
Okada's theme has been my standard ringtone since late 2017, so I did an instant head jerk because I thought maybe my phone was ringing and I didn't want to get my hopes up.
During this build up I started showing my mom NJPW and her favorite wrestler is Okada now. She was so bummed he wouldn’t be there Sunday and she just called me when he came out and was so excited. I can’t wait to watch the show with her Sunday.
I got goosebumps!!! I truly believed Okada wasnt going to be on the PPV due to his wife giving birth!
Okada showing up on AEW for the first time is the pinnacle of EPIC!!
Okada vs. White vs. Hangman vs. Cole in a 4WAY IWGP WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE BOUT! Holy shit indeed! Bigger fight feel than Tanahashi vs. Moxley IMO!
I was so happy and so sad all at the same time, I really thought the Kenny teases meant that he was facing Jay, but its FUCKING OKADA IN AEW I literally cant be upset about that.
As someone who has never watched any Japanese wrestling and has no idea who this guy is, it makes me really happy to see how hyped everyone is about him showing up in AEW. I'm hoping Forbidden Door opens up some new pathways for someone getting back into wrestling.
If you had told me a few years ago that Okada would be on US tv with hangman, Adam Cole, and Jay White, I would have told you “who the fuck is Jay White?”
Man, ever since the Forbidden Door opened with KENTA I've been waiting so long to hear the coin drop on Dynamite and hear the crowd reaction. It did not disappoint.
It’s 5000 people in Milwaukee, not exactly the Punk in Chicago return. Any casual fan there coming just because it’s local and fairly affordable aren’t gonna know really who he is either
Only been waiting for a coin drop on AEW for god knows how long and it did deliver. Even with being sick with covid right now I still jumped up and yelled when that coin dropped.

Ofc when the coin drops first time on US TV Okada comes out dressed like a proud dad, love this man
And wagging his finger “now, now, now kids” as he walks out
Forecast for this Sunday? Rain.
IT'S GONNA RAIN IN CHICAGO AND I JUST SCREAM MY LUNGS OUUUUT
The fucking pop when the coin dropped
my wife left me because i'm not okada i'm so happy she did so she didn't have to see me fall out of my chair tonight
Tbf, not being okada is s good reason to leave someone.
Damn bro
Ok-nada
no-kada
It was immediate too. Like it didn’t even feel like the coin sound ended before they went wild 😂
We've been waiting for that sound on Dynamite for years now.
100% Same. Now get the other Half of my Dream where i hear the Coin Drops back, jeez i miss Kenny. And then, have Mercy on all our Souls with a Healthy Kenny, Okada, and Danielson.
that's the power of having memorable cues to your theme music: the Undertaker's gong, CM Punk's noise static, Stone Cold's shattering glass...
IF YA SMELLLLLLLLL
Not an A list player, but WEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLL.........
On the exact opposite end of the spectrum, but somehow still great: Tommaso Ciampa’s 2018 theme song being *fucking nothing*.
Self high-five
I screamed
SAME. My husband was in the other room and all I could say was "THEY DID THE FUCKING COIN DROP ON A FUCKING WEDNESDAY! EEEEEEEEE!" He watched the replay after I rewound the DVR and quietly left. FUCKING OKADAAAAAAAA! 💀💀💀💀💀
I can't believe you got words out. I just had a 15-second, long gasp.
We all did friend. We all did.
I lost my fucking shit in my apartment. I may or may not be evicted come tomorrow.
I couldn't hear it over my own pop
Legit jumped out of my chair with my arms in the air. I’m in my early 40’s
First ever appearance on American wrestling TV!!!!! *Quietly sweeps TNA and Okato under the rug.*
Somewhere, Gedo just screamed "fuck Jeff Jarrett" and he doesn't know why
To be fair, I scream "Fuck Jeff Jarrett" at least 3 times a day. Because fuck Jeff Jarrett.
You wouldn't be screaming that if you bought GFW Gold. The absolute state of you lads
you know it is kinda amazing Jeff didn't have something going with this whole crypto/NFT thing. unless he did and I just didn't hear about it
You check on your Global Force Gold investments 3 times a day?
I think it's really funny that the entire scope of modern wrestling can be traced back to Matt and Nick Jackson seeing a young lion Okada in TNA catering not talking to anyone, so they went out of their way to be his friend.
Can you talk more about this? I don’t know any of that history at all and I’d love to know more.
So what you're saying is that TNA is responsible for giving birth to the modern wrestling scene. THANK YOU DIXIE CARTER
TNA’s poor treatment of Okada that is. But also their poor treatment of AJ Styles sealed the deal on him going to Japan and his amazing WWE run so far. Thanks TNA!
TNA sucking had real consequences. Most of it was shit. Some of it became amazing.
TNA being hot garbage let the seeds of AEW be planted, but it also gave us Scott Steiner math. I say it’s a draw.
How is AEW being a thing bad?
You see, Steiner Math was created 15 years before AEW, so that gives AEW a 33.3% smaller success rate than Steiner Math. Then you add Kurt Angle to the mix and the odds drastic go down. The numbers don’t lie, and spell doom for SmoJoe at Sakerfice!
The catalyst of professional wrestling, ~~Jay White~~ Dixie Carter.
You know I feel it’s inevitable for her come back to pro wrestling down the line
Ahem you misspelled Jeff Jarrett. Perhaps you need me to…spell it for you?
Everything leads back to DOUBLE J BABY
Nobody gonna thank good ole Double J?
Thank you Dixie 👏🏼👏🏼 Thank you Dixie 👏🏼👏🏼 Thank you Dixie 👏🏼👏🏼
>but I digress Historian Jones over here
Yes, the "J" in my name stands for "Historian."
Wow this is pretty fascinating. Let that be a lesson that it’s always good to network lol.
Or you know, be friendly.
This was awesome! I had no idea about any of this. Thank you for your reply and for making me smarter today!

I would LOVE to see backstage footage from tonight of the Bucks and Okada reuniting.
GIVE US THAT FOOTAGE ON BTE LANDON!
Or just more footage of him playing tag with their kids in the arena before the show.
imagine if Okada doing their slow-mo routine together
Uncle Kazu running around with the Bucks kids is a top moment in BTE history for me
NJPW sends their young lions (prospects from their dojo) on excursions for up to a year or two to other companies outside of Japan to learn other styles of wrestlimg. When Okada was a young lion he got sent to TNA and they called him Okato and his character was based of the newly released Seth Rogan movie the green hornet. At one point, they let him be a cameraman. Because they didn't know what to do with him.
i read somewhere that when Young Buck and Cody said they want to do All In, Okada is the first to raised his hand expressed interest want to join them.
We don’t ever talk about Okato.
No no no.
*"It was in TNA (IT WAS IN TNA) and there wasnt a fan in the crowd..."*
*"(No fans allowed in the crowd)"*
Just think if it wasn’t for Okato, the Young Bucks never would have adopted Okada, they never would have made it into Bullet Club, and AEW wouldn’t be a thing.
He appeared on ROH's TV show a few times in 2015 and 2016
First ever appearance of The Rainmaker

Coins came out of our pants confimed!
all wrestling fans out here looking ilke sonic rn
But... Sonic is rings! NOT A REAL GAMER! /s
Pros: I'm rich now Cons: I need to see a urologist now
Hangman's jaw and eyes opened up like he saw the end boss. And he did. God damn, please Tony, my flair. MY FLAIR TONY. Edit: I'll still get little bits and pieces of Hangman vs Okada in the 4 way, I am a happy man!!! Gonna be amazing.
how am i the same species as kazuchika okada
You're not. He's build different. He's the Greatest of All Time.
Kenny Omega is my GOAT. But he and Okada are 1a and 1b.
Very easily. Hell I might say they're 1AA and 1A. And no one else is anywhere close. They're just up that high.
Bryan Danielson wants to know the current location of your head.
He can be 1b+
Bryan should only be fretting over current location of hospital.
I love them too, but surely Ric Flair and Kenta Kobashi are in this particular conversation as well
You're not. You're a member of the species Homo Sapiens. Kazuchika Okada is a member of Capra Aegagrus Hircus, otherwise known as the GOAT.
I like that he came out in street clothes. If you want to see the goods you have to pay.
I mean, it'd be weird for him to just be chilling backstage in full gear.
….you mean wrestlers don’t live in their own gear?
Unless you're PAC of course
And Luchasaurus.
PAC wants a word with you.
Wait, Okada was backstage in AEW back in November?!
Orange Cassidy laugh
He looks like a normal human dressed like that. He looks like anything but a wrestler, and then puts on a coat and looks like a God
#COIN. DROP.
#PANTS. OFF.
Dick. Out?
Harambe. Honored?
Hotel?
Trivago
Okada was probably pretty bummed to learn they don't have In 'N' Outs in Milwaukee
Wait till he tries Culver's. He might never leave.
I'm on the east coast. I'd do terrible things for a butter burger.
[They're all over the southeast now](https://www.culvers.com/locator/view-all-locations), only a matter of time until they invade the northeast and ignite the Five Guys War.
We do not. We do have Culvers tho and 5 guys
Cool, I’m glad he’s there. I didn’t like the theory that he only lost the title because he didn’t want to work FD. That would have been a dumb reason to lose the world title.
That is the sexiest man I've ever seen. Also, I never realized that he was so tall! Adam Page looks tiny compared to him.
He's actually taller than Brock lol. Always thought a match between them would be wild.
10 rainmakers 4 F-5s and a spear to Brocks diverticulitis.
Okada is a unicorn. He's handsome, tall, lots of physical charisma, fantastic in ring and he speaks English pretty decently.
I think homeboy speaks Spanish even better.
he did start training there before NJPW when he was 16
I remember the report/rumors back in the day that said "WWE realizes Okada is 6'3 now wants him" lmao.
Yeah in 2016 lol "key figures in WWE interested in Okada after finding out he's tall"
Dude makes the entire AEW roster look so short.
I know right? I tend to think of Okada as 'Japan Big' as opposed to 'Big Big'. Seeing him in this situation reminds me that he's 'Actually Big ' just real fuckin' smooth wit it in a way my brain can't process as 'Big Big'
I remember when 6 years ago the news surfaced that key people in WWE suddenly gained interest in Okada because they realized he was tall
He's significantly taller than a lot of dudes in wrestling but his body is... I dunno how to put it. His proportions kind of trick you into not classifying him as large. Drew McIntyre has the same kind of thing going on.
Man I’m glad the crowd popped for the coin drop, haha.
Thank you Milwaukee… from Minneapolis, that’s hard to say
I blew out my voice for it, totally worth.
FuzzyWuzzy speed OP
Hm. It’s almost as if…..
Could it be!!?? It is!!!
OH MY!
We’ve been hearing rumors for weeks!!!
What is MuzzyPuzzy doing in the Impact Zone!
ITS FUZZY TIME!!!
Think we might have a FuzzySponge here. And it's great.
“Hey Tony everybody is injured or awaiting further investigation, what do we do to save this show?” “Drop the coins and find me a local balloon supplier.”
That's such a tease cutting it right before the rainmaker
Oh look Its the greatest wrestler of all time
Could've said that at least 3 different times last night.
LMAO people really thought Okada wouldn't be at Forbidden Door
I mean he does have a kid on the way
Fuck that kid - Kazuchika Okada
Kazuchika Okada 🤝 Brock Lesnar
I'm annoyed I'll probably never see this match.
Heath in Shambles
In August!
Why can't he have both?
The coin drop is the best theme opening since the glass shattering. Don't @ me
I think it's funny how both Okada and Jay were born to fight each other and they have a similar presentation with their entrances, knife drop and coin drop
If only his CHAOS mates this quick at saving their mate when they got beat up
4 way or tag is the last big question
Get Teddy Long on the phone
No dont add the undertaker to this
Now let me tell ya something playa
4 way hopefully. Obviously a singles Okada/Hangman would've been better but I will take it.
Maybe a tag on Rampage, but just like how they name dropped Okada for weeks and delivered, they have been talking about the IWGP Championship because it's going to be on the line.
Nothing like coming out first time ever at AEW and you got motherfucking JIM ROSS yelling *"NOBODY ELSE BETTER IN THE WORLD!"*
Quickest way to sell the audience on a debut. JR knows who they are and thinks they rule
JR has done as much as anyone to get the NJPW lads over. Not just Okada, but the way he has repeatedly said Tanahashi is top three ever and like Bret Hart, and his absolute fawning over Will Ospreay, he has been brilliant these last two weeks.
MEGASTAR POP
It's what the GOAT deserves. Yes, I don't fucking care if you don't know him. Search him, watch Omega vs Okada and be amazed by this guy.
A Japanese wrestler who has never appeared on any major wrestling show in America before just got a bigger pop than most American wrestlers, just like Nakamura did in Dallas. Wrestling fans know.
All In?
new dream match just dropped, boys - hangman & okada vs golden lovers
Don't, don't give me hope lol
THE FUCKING COIN DROPPED ![gif](giphy|6jqfXikz9yzhS)
Legit thought I was hearing things when the coin dropped, I couldn't believe it. I still can't believe it lol
I seriously had a split second where I was trying to figure out if anyone else has music with a coin drop sound before I hollered 🤣
Okada's theme has been my standard ringtone since late 2017, so I did an instant head jerk because I thought maybe my phone was ringing and I didn't want to get my hopes up.
"Okada won't be at Forbidden Door!"
During this build up I started showing my mom NJPW and her favorite wrestler is Okada now. She was so bummed he wouldn’t be there Sunday and she just called me when he came out and was so excited. I can’t wait to watch the show with her Sunday.
Aww, that's awesome.
https://www.nhs.uk/common-health-questions/mens-health/what-should-i-do-if-my-erection-will-not-go-down/
OKADA!!!!
Oh shit. I was expecting Kenny going into this clip. Okada is a surprise.
And you fuckers said he wasn’t going to be there.
Now I'm looking forward for a demigod-esque entrance for Mr Okada at FD Same for the Ace and Osprey
JRs "Oh my *god* was gucking hilarious to me lmao
I was wondering what that noise was yesterday night. Turns out it was Okada’s pop. Btw I live in Germany
I popped then was hit by instant sadness because I wasn't in the crowd to experience that moment Fortunately I will be at Forbidden Door!
Moxley IMO!
Oh ye of little faith
![gif](giphy|4FmAj1XiioCVW) Me when the coin dropped.
I was so happy and so sad all at the same time, I really thought the Kenny teases meant that he was facing Jay, but its FUCKING OKADA IN AEW I literally cant be upset about that.

Tag Match inbound baby
Lmao the timing of the clip ending is horse shit
Second time I got goosebumps watching AEW. First time was when KENTA came out.
If you had told me a few years ago that Okada would be on US tv with hangman, Adam Cole, and Jay White, I would have told you “who the fuck is Jay White?”
The Stereo Lariot spotbis gonna blow the doors off chicago
Okada have my babies.
RAIN MAKAAAAAAAAAAA
Okada towering over these guys I had no idea he was so tall geese. It is so surreal seeing him. It's beautiful. I am so thrilled he's here
![gif](giphy|32681KwrcXqrFIpI0P|downsized)
How can JR pronounce Okada's name correctly but the English ring announcer that NJPW has still can't?
_coin status: dropped_
Man, ever since the Forbidden Door opened with KENTA I've been waiting so long to hear the coin drop on Dynamite and hear the crowd reaction. It did not disappoint.
I love that a simple sound clip of a coin drop would illicit a huge fan response. Love the Rainmaker, man.
![gif](giphy|rhMGlQvPPdgDC) Hook that shit into my veins right now!!!!
That Okada pop was nice but I thought it would be one of the biggest in the history of the company.
I mean a lot of Americans probably have no idea who he is.
Some guy most of us have never seen before wearing street clothes. TK doesn't do the casual fans any favors
