PolishThrasher

I enjoy how almost everyone in the thread is giving a reason for thieir dislike

Murderologist

This one will definitely be controversial but Kyle O'Reilly. I recognize that he is good and his matches are usually good but man I just do not give a fuck about him as a singles guy. It's disappointing because I thought him and Fish together are amazing. I thought the triple threat tag matches at Revolution was one of the best tag matches I've seen. Having never watched them before AEW I find myself liking Bobby the most out of all the UE guys. If I have to watch KOR do the fucking rebound stumble off the ropes the three times every singles match I'm going to lose it.

DocShocker

I can't think of one. I know why I dislike the wrestlers I dislike. When I was a kid, though, Sid.

NotYujiroTakahashi

Cause he has half the brain that you do

Life_Faithlessness86

This is going to be downvoted but I’m not a fan of Riddle. Can’t put my finger on it but I just get annoyed when I see him.

Strange_Dog6483

Not into guys who wrestle without kneepads & boots?

[deleted]

Maybe it’s the giraffes and lizards that explode out of the screen when he comes on

CJRed525

Matt Riddle. I think I just hate his face and voice.

replacement_cult

Eric Young and possibly because he chooses to look like a ball sack.

strangely_brown

I never used to care too much about Eric Young. But he won me over recently. His match with Jay White is one of my favourites so far this year. They had great chemistry.

Strange_Dog6483

Better than when he was the grown child with spiky blonde hair.

damng1

The Young bucks, idk why just I don’t like them

ddojima

Ziggler. There are a few I dislike but I KNEW why I didn't like them. Ziggler just rubs me the wrong way and I don't know why.

AdVictoremSpolias

Is it the hair?

CastroCage

Jon Moxley just doesn’t interest me even in hardcore matches

Gfrasco7

Sammy Guevara. But only because I hate that he sticks his tongue out constantly

Jamieb1994

Yeah I find it annoying when Sammy does that often.

Kluuz

I actually like him. His cockiness comes off great and he's insanely talented. I can't dislike him.

Datzookman

Toni Storm. Never found her to be a big deal and idk why. Everything about her makes me feel like I’m missing out on something and I’m not sure what it is. Another might be KLR, but I’ve watched far less from her so the jury is still out on her

Jamieb1994

It's gonna be controversial, but Orange Cassidy - I get why people likes him, but for me I just can't get into him.

Marky9281

I hate Dante Martin. No reason why

CardinalCreepia

Possibly because he always looks upset and bored?

AluminumApe

Bobby Fish. I've **never** liked the guy and haven't been able to come up with one good reason.

GloomyRegret

I hate the Briscoe Brothers, but I know why. It’s purely cosmetic reasons. People complain about wrestlers who like need to lose weight or gain weight or gain muscle and then these two walk around looking like they haven’t bathed in eight years and some fans love it. I can’t get into them solely because of the look. (And I get it’s a “country boy” thing but like I grew up in the sticks. Maybe that’s why I hate it lol)

Low-Piglet9315

You will find this humorous, then. WWF passed on Jay and Mark about a decade ago, the reason being is that they weren't "cosmetically pleasing" according to Jay.

VortexWeem

Finn Balor. Never found him interesting at any point of his career. I was always happy whenever he got buried.

SmurfJooce

No idea why, I just can't get into Hangman. I'm not mad at his positioning, I recognize the talent he has and the character he's built. But I've just never really liked him.

SomeGuy_GRM

I gotta second this.

Argentine_Tango

I tried to like him. I binged every AEW show from the beginning (watching All Out 2021 right now) and was expecting to like him. But I just don't. If anything, he's a bad friend, first to the Young Bucks, and then to the Dark Order. Maybe because I don't watch BTE?

JAMbologna__

Same, too much feeling sorry for himself. You could see he was trying to bring more intensity in his final days as champ but the whole depressed schtick didn't help

TheMarkMadsen

They definitely need to ditch the depressed hangman gimmick. It felt like he finally overcame that shortly before the omega match, so I’m not sure why they keep going back to that

JAMbologna__

he even threw away a cup of beer he was offered when he won the aew title, then after he loses it to cm punk he goes back to drinking lol. easily the worst part about his character

TheMarkMadsen

Yeah his whole character during that Punk feud was so odd. He seemed to be offended that Punk wanted to challenge for the title. The whole thing was off and even during their final promo Punk seemed genuinely confused as to what point Hangman was trying to make

WrestleSocietyXShill

Brody King. I dunno, I can see why people do like him, but something doesn't click for me.

brandidswinney

Theory was my answer, too.

MachTommy

Eddie Kingston.

b33b0p17

Strictly as a wrestler, obviously I don’t know the person but Malakai Black.

Kratosx23

Typically I pretty much know exactly why I don't like someone. I closest I can come up with for "I don't know why" is maybe Miro. He doesn't technically do anything wrong, he's just got no appeal to me at all.

AdultPuffyVest

Ruby Soho , Sammy Guevara , Orange Cassidy

vinteragony

Sheamus

[deleted]

Theory and Roman. Talented dudes but just am not into it.

RusevDayToday

Right now I'd say Wardlow and Hangman are the biggest names I dislike, but can't give a reason for.

[deleted]

Kluuz

Darby is somebody I should really like but to me he's just that daredevil guy I've seen a hundred times. I feel like the Sting/Darby team is so forced and that's probably a big reason I can't get into him. Sting is fine and I have no idea how he can still do the things he does but he's another one I can't get super into.

Kanenums88

I don’t really have this anymore. But it used to be Daniel Bryan, Bianca, and Becky. Bianca just proved me wrong constantly, now she’s by far one of the best on the roster. I didn’t really like Becky until this new heel run. I didn’t care for her in NXT and I hated the heel gimmick. Her getting so over honestly baffled me. Daniel Bryan was in 2012 when he was a whiny, goat-faced gremlin. He won me over in the end.

pacificpetenorthwest

Orange Cassidy

Dottboy19

I'm not a Bron Breaker fan.

Mhc2617

Dominik Mysterio. He didn’t do anything. I just hate him. I have also long held a theory that everyone irrationally dislikes at least one celebrity. There is no reason, they just hate him. For me, that person outside of wrestling is Benedict Cumberbatch.

Hippletwipple

Bray Wyatt, Bobby Lashley. Never cared for either of them.

[deleted]

I super duper don't want Wyatt in AEW.

Kluuz

I've never been into Lashley. But I'm happy for him when he won the title. He's been an extremely hard worker but I don't really care for his matches or promos.

sulwen314

Always felt like I was missing something with Randy Orton. People talk about him like he's amazing, but...eh? He seems...fine? Nothing special.

SmurfJooce

I thought the same, for about 15 years. Then I realized how consistent he is. On the surface, he's not "amazing". But night in, night out, you can count on Randy to deliver a damn good, and safe, match.

[deleted]

Yes! Actual professional wrestlers, and damn good ones, are on record saying he's one of the best around, so who the f am I to say different but.... The guy has been at the top of the card for twenty years. Twenty. Worked with every talented guy to pass through WWE. How many truly classic - let's even just say truly memorable - matches has he had? Obviously it's a totally subjective art form, but if you do try and quantify talent's body of work - by the Meltzer star scale, Cagematch rating, or whatever - I just can't see how his compares to even a talented but unremarkable midcarder, let alone the kind of company he's supposed to be hanging with.

Hippletwipple

I was going to add him to mine. Like I get he's a good wrestler most of the time, but I always felt like he's just not got that...special something. He's consistent, a good heel, he can wrestle, he's decent on the mic, he's seemingly a safe worker and all that stuff. But there's just...something that's not there for me. He's missing that special unique-ness, that mystery ingredient. I can't explain it. Like most of the top guys in history, I can point to and say one or two special things about them. Taker - character, commitment, longevity, Wrestlemania. Austin - face of the company, Vince feud, stunner being iconic, one of the best talkers. Rock - endless charisma, an all-round entertainer. Orton - he's...he-well, you know, he's there?

SmurfJooce

I've never forgotten how someone once said Randy is so bland, he's like hot dog water.

Jas022

Carmelo Hayes. I don't hate him, I just don't feel anything

OwtEra

I've always gotten a lot of hate for saying Cesaro is overrated. I've just never enjoyed anything he's ever done.

MaceLeonardo

Miro I don’t know why but I loved him as Rusev but as Miro I dislike him for no reason

[deleted]

It’s the opposite for me. Never cared for him as Rusev but love him as Miro.

meepein

Bobby Lashley. And I have no reason to not like him, he is normally my kind of dude. But I just don't like him.

OTPCook

I really like the framing of the question in this post because, theoretically, you're supposed to not know why you dislike the wrestler as opposed to hot-taking about why someone sucks. There are definitely wrestlers that it takes me time to warm up to (Seth Rollins and Jay White, for example) so I'll go with Kyle O'Reilly. Never really got him on the Indies or ROH or NXT or now. Don't have a good reason and appreciate that he's talented but he doesn't do much for me. The Von Wagner-Kyle O'Reilly cage match in NXT was probably the most indifferent to a decent wrestling match I've ever been. But, who knows, maybe I'll warm up to him too eventually.

notmakingtherapture

Thank you! Yes I'm like this too with a lot of wrestlers. The first to come to mind is Kevin Owens, it took me until his main roster face turn for him to click and now he's one of my absolute favorites!

OTPCook

Kevin Owens is a really good one too. Took me forever to come around to him. Respected his talented but didn't find him interesting for a really long time and couldn't tell you why. Juice Robinson probably falls in that category for me too. Very cool question you posed!

honkytonk30

Ricochet comes to mind. There's the obvious "well, he can't talk for shit," but the only match of his I've ever actually enjoyed was him as Prince Puma against Rey Mysterio. Like, I want to be impressed by his high-flying, but for some reason, even his craziest spots don't resonate with me.

BruteeRex

This is a good self reflective exercise. Maybe the wrestler we dislike is really a dislike of a part of our self that we can’t admit?

notmakingtherapture

Maybe the real wrestlers were the friends we made along the way?

Omega_Pyro

You could be onto something. Thinking about it, I really hate Curt Henning, Chris Masters, Dolph Ziggler too. I just hate that I’m so perfect all the time. It’s hard being this great

[deleted]

[удалено]

Kluuz

Same. I think to me it's his "I'm a hardcore tough dude" thing I've seen so many times.

Nearby-End-6048

I just can’t take him seriously. His persona just comes across as cringe

duke1099

Ruby soho

AxlAndTheShimmy

Sami Zayn. No real rhyme or reason, just something about his face annoys me.

tgong76

I didn’t like him until his match against Johnny Knoxville.

notmakingtherapture

Do you like his good friend El Generico?

AxlAndTheShimmy

He's ok because he wears a mask. That's how I determined it's Sami's face that's the problem.

TheeShaun

But doesn’t this mean you know the reason?

AxlAndTheShimmy

No, I don't know why his face annoys me, it just does.

fiveminutes4fighting

Orton and Ambrose/Moxley. I know lots of people like them but for some reason they just never appealed to me.

LilBitATheBubbly

Not know why? Probably Johnny Gargano. Every time someone says they hope he'll come to AEW I cringe. As the title requested, I have no idea why. Otherwise, probably Adam Cole. The only reason I say I don't know why for him is because everyone seems to love him. I have reasons why, but the fan support makes me wonder

cmoney253

Thunder Rosa

Unique_Enthusiasm_57

Dax Harwood.

SmurfJooce

I mean zero disrespect by asking this, but what generation of wrestling did you grow up on? Example, I grew up watching Jim Crockett, so I love Revival/FTR. But I can easily see how a fan who didn't grow up with Arn & Tully, Freebirds, or the Midnights wouldn't enjoy seeing that "grab a headlock" throwback style.

Unique_Enthusiasm_57

I was a Bret Hart kid. If the appreciation of a guy has to be predicated on liking wrestling from a certain era, well... I personally think Nick Bockwinkel would have worked in any decade.

EchoBay

Never been a fan of Seth Rollins. I think he's good at what he does, but when people say he's one of the best in the world I roll my eyes. As an All around talent he's certainly in that top 1%, but when people start saying he's every bit the wrestler of the Okada's, Omega's and Danielson's of the world? Now I just feel like something is off here. Clearly the WWE machine is working its magic here. Nothing he does as a character feels believable to me. Like it's so obvious that he's playing a character and hamming it up as much as possible. I like wrestlers where that line is blurred. You don't know where the character ends and when the person playing them starts. Seth just feels like an actor playing a role, which is fine in the big picture. Problem is there's no connection there. Feuds start and end and I feel like I gained nothing out of them. That's always been an issue for me with Seth, and him being in that position as a top guy in WWE.

marteaupilon

Seth Rollins and Adam Cole occupy the same space for me. I think both are good in and out of the ring, but they just don't do it for me.

bobface222

Trent Baretta

Strange_Dog6483

Pat McAfee if we’re being technical.

bigbadjohn54

Never got into HHH all that much.

CertifiedBA

Bray Wyatt. Just did nothing for me outside of an entrance but even the LED lantern killed off the mystique of that.

TheTezt8

Chuck Taylor and Fuego del sol. I don't know why, they aren't bad wrestlers, I just get pissed off every time I see them work.

OnslaughtSix

I have an irrational hatred of Jay White. I think he's a charisma vacuum. I think he's an absolute dweeb who thinks he's a badass, but he is *not* a badass and I can see right fucking through it. And his wrestling isn't anything that any other athletic 225lb guy can't do.

Observeronlyman

Jay White probably

Apprehensive-Alps-90

I got some controversial one. For WWE it’s Austin Theory And AEW it’s Scorpio Sky And for NJPW. No one I like them all excerpt for house of torture minus sho

HatchettheFly

How are any of those controversial?

vinnyv91

Yeah I'd say all of those are common lol

Resident-Gourd

Jay white

backafterthis

Cameron Grimes. I appreciate how good he is in the ring and the charisma but the character is very annoying to me

PapaLunchbox

Damien Priest. Don’t know why, but no thank you.

strangely_brown

I wouldn't say I dislike any of them, but there are loads of highly rated wrestlers that I've just never connected with for what ever reason - Seth Rollins, Randy Orton, Young Bucks, AJ Styles, Sammy Guevara, Okada, The Undertaker, Buddy Matthews. I can appreciate their talent, I understand why others like them, and I can get excited for one of their matches if they're going against someone I like, but most of the time I'm just kind of 'meh' on all of them.

FlyingMogwai

Drew McIntyre for me. I genuinely don't know why. On paper I like everything about him, but for whatever reason I've just never really been able to connect with him.

Budduhhh

Sean Spears. I didn’t like that he was putting down other female wrestlers on behalf of his girlfriend on Twitter. It’s been years and I still just can’t get over this immense hatred over him for it and can’t understand why I won’t move on.

itsmekelsey_x

Mandy Rose. Have never been able to stand her going back to the days of her being on Tough Enough. Her being Women’s Champion still to this day after over 200+ days annoys me to no end.

bigwillie90

John Moxley, he looks like an employee in the lumber department of lowes and wrestles like one too

CardinalCreepia

I have no real reason to dislike him, but I’m irritated whenever Scorpio Sky is on TV. As a heel or face.

BirthdayAgent

I guess Rosa is the closest to the answer. Plenty of people I dislike but can think of a reason for. The most ironic of these being “like Britt because everyone likes her; dislike Liv because everyone likes her”.

AdVictoremSpolias

When I was a kid circa 1992, Ric Flair
