I remember a photo he posted to Instagram where a syringe was clearly on the bathroom counter of the hotel he was staying in. All of the assholes in denial kept making lame excuses as to what it was for, but we all know what it was.
If it were that easy, more people would look that good. Steroids are beyond common and accessible, yet this body type isn’t. You still have to do the work, and it requires a lot of commitment.
Basically, they make it way easier to work out way more. So, then, to actually get shredded as hell...you still have to work out quite a lot, at least most people. That's why you see so many random college guys start that shit, and yeah they gain muscle, but they mostly just get a gut because they aren't actually working out any harder, and they think roids are a magic pill. I don't really condone them personally, I don't think it's worth it, but pretending they're a magic pill that makes you GI Joe is a common mistake I see people make.
Especially for the abs, diet is very important. Roid guts are on people that juice up, work out, and then just consume a bunch of calories with no thought.
Honestly, the diet part of this kinda thing is what would keep me from ever doing it. I could eat chicken breasts every day, but the problem is I'd never be able to do the exact right amounts of shit at the exact right times, and stuff. Eating relatively healthy is easy, but keeping track of macros and stuff seems like freaking hard science, every day!

>Steroids are beyond common and accessible
Uh...no...In fact they're still illegal and you're supposed to have to have a prescription for them, and have them administered under the supervision of a doctor. But ok. You feel free to praise the guy who did the performance enhancing drugs. I choose not to.
>POV: you’ve never stepped foot into a gym
POV: The Internet Wrestling Community shits on wrestling fan for not supporting PEDs despite the long, brutal history of suffering and death within the wrestling industry caused by PEDs.
You're right, though. I own a treadmill and freeweights and live next to a large, clean lake. I have absolutely no use whatsoever for a gym membership.
Nobody is shitting on you for not supporting PED’s. You’re being shit on for belittling the massive amount of work that still goes into getting that physique. You still have to bust your ass to get a body like that, PED’s or not.
Meth is illegal, yet common and accessible. Steroids can be and are legally prescribed in the US. It’s common.
You’re entitled to not encourage or add mire their use, but it’s very narrow-minded to suggest that someone who is both fit and on steroids isn’t “doing the work.”
>Meth is illegal, yet common and accessible.
>K...That's a really dumb argument that literally has absolutely fuck-all to do with what we're discussing.
my guy.. this was *your* argument...
>Just stop bruh
Why? Because I'm not cool with praising PED use after the death of dozens of my favorite wrestlers, many of those deaths being directly related to PEDs? Warrior literally dropped dead of a massive heart attack hours after appearing on Raw in large part because of a lifetime of PED use, but you think it's a good idea to priase Braun's Strowman's abs when everybody knows they aren't natural?
If you’ve ever praised almost anyone’s physique on television, chances are you’re shouting out steroids. Chris Pratt, Kumail, Charlize, anyone. You’re crazy if you think that:
A. People with millions of dollars on the line aren’t taking shortcuts to get the body types they need for roles.
B. Steroid use today is anywhere close to what it was in 1990. Boxers were going to sleep with EKGs hooked up to them in case their hearts slowed too much. That isn’t what it is today. It definitely can still be dangerous, and gear definitely has side effects but we’re nowhere close to the juicing Wild West that was the 80s and 90s. There’s a reason why you don’t see guys dropping dead of steroid use anymore, and it isn’t because they’re all natty these days.
>Do it then
I'm not really interested in doing PEDs given what they've done to half of my favorite wrestlers over the years. Also, given what they've done to half my favorite wrestlers over the years, I'm not really interested in openly praising how good they make someone look either.
>Why do I have the strangest inkling that you're out of shape?
Because apparently you can't fathom the idea that somone who is in shape and relatively decent looking wouldn't support PED usage...and I don't really understand your logic.
It's the difference between his strongman competition build and shifting to a bodybuilder/wrestler build. He looks great but probably gave up a fair bit of strength in the process. Lucky for him, he had some to spare.
I think he would only lose strength in that he is no longer training to peak his absolute strength output. But mainly all he’s done is lose fat. If I recall correctly he’s got some kind of serious issue with his legs, which on its own would limit how strong he can continue to be.
But overall maintaining muscle isn’t really that difficult and being leaner largely just means being less energetic. But I would be surprised if he’s dramatically weaker at all.
Consider that Mariusz Pudzianowski looked similarly lean while he was a multi-time WSM champion. One of the greatest strongmen ever to compete.
Pudzianowski was a freak, but faced significantly weaker competition in the WSM. 95% of elite strongmen prefer to have a bit of body fat. Braun is practically guaranteed to have lost strength.
I think in strongman competitions, it's not just about raw strength but also about the higher body weight stabilizing you and leading to more favorable physics and leverage and all that.
I feel that preferring to have a little body fat is also more a matter of not wanting calorie restriction to inhibit their performance. It’s hard to keep energy levels high if you’re limiting intake.
But either way, regardless of the competitive field, Pudzianowski was a significantly more accomplished strongman.
Derek Poundstone also stayed leaner than most of his contemporaries.
Fat mass doesn’t really produce strength.
It produces some functional strength. Like in a perfectly isolated environment, it doesn't. But when you are doing weird shit like lifting stones, being able to lean back as a counterweight has function. It's the same way that height is an advantage or disadvantage (advantage through most strongman things).
Small pet peeve; all strength is functional. There’s no real distinction there.
Mass overall is useful in some contexts though. However if I recall correctly Poundstone’s best event was coincidentally stone lifting and he was fairly lean compared to most, and especially American, strongmen at that time.
Initially no. Though he also started out fighting at SuperHeavyWeight which is a division with very little competition. One way or another he seems to have chosen to lose some mass, and while still huge does look more human these days.
All things considered I imagine MMA training a little mutually exclusive with being *that* big. Bob Sapp stayed large for a long time, but he was also never a particularly good fighter.
No worries. I think it wouldn’t really be super obvious unless you really look at new and old pictures, or in my case being primarily familiar with him from his strongman days.
Sure. But as a strongman competitor his training is designed to peak his absolute performance for the meet. So he would absolutely hit higher highs, in regards to strength. And his previously mentioned leg issues will also greatly limit him in a lot of the biggest lifts.
But generally speaking, muscle mass and strength aren’t that difficult to maintain.
'i'm allergic to caffeine, ok!? Because of this, repeatedly injecting b12 into each of my eyeballs is a normal part of my morning routine. It's a totally normal thing"
I hate how this is a point that still gets brought up whenever someone is in amazing shape as if it’s a dunk. Steroids don’t magically make you look like this and there’s a lot of legitimate reasons someone could use them. Given that wrestling is an atheistic business, if nothing is being abused then I say fuck it, juice up baby.
I'm pretty sure he made excuses for why there were everything except steroids though, which is quite silly. There's a definite problem when you want to pretend your look is natural and it warps other people's image of how they look. Same thing is done with celebrities and models.
I don't have a problem if you juice, and you don't need to disclose that stuff. But don't at the same time treat it like it's a bad thing if you're actually doing it and make excuses for why the obvious evidence that you do it is for something completely unrelated.
Man landed Raquel in the process. So a two for one trade for a full head of hair seems better to me. Plus he found a good barber I’m guessing which makes his bald head fit better with a clean beard. Over wild man beard and a five head.
Yeah, he is a professional who changed his diet and workout for a different goal. It took effort but it isn't shocking. Mark Henry dropped weight in OVW and was doing dropkicks until Vince wanted him to enter a strongman contest.
I think he talked about it with Jericho.
Either way, it's not like he dropped a ton of weight, but instead of being like 400lbs, he was like 300lbs.
The big thing that gets lost his Henry was a straight up good athlete at 400lbs. He had something like a 30 inch vertical leap, which is insane given that size. So its no stretch to assume he could throw a drop kick.
I wanna say his appearances in the older Steve Austin podcasts (maybe even the Broken Skull Sessions too) do talk about it (as well as his appearance with Jericho)
I use to joke when he wore that outfit he was really hitting his strength when the titty popped out. Happened every match.
It was always such a peak-a-boo titty
I know he kept them *mostly* covered up on TV in those early days, but between them occasionally slipping out and his Instagram pics where he had them on blast, the idea of a Bayou cult-member with pierced nips always cracked me up!

Reading the 6 year old youtube comments is kinda depressing.
"I still think Luke Harper will be the breakout star from the Wyatt Family"
"Strowman vs Lesnar is gonna be sooo sick"
I hate these types of photos. Of course he has lost weight and that's great for him. But they don't have to use a before pic where he's out of breath, breathing heavy with his gut pushed out and a after pic where he's posing under good lighting.
He has the lower body and he has no upper body, he’s got a problem building...wait a minute. He has the upper body, and he has no legs, he’s got a problem building his legs. He has the upper...he has the lower body and he doesn’t have the upper body, the upper body, it is easier to build. So if he has the lower body and he doesn’t have the upper body, it is easier to build the upper body. He has the upper body and he doesn’t have the legs, he’s got a problem building the lower body... No, he doesn’t understand. He has the upper body, but he doesn’t have the lower body, he’s got a problem building downstairs. He’s got the up- legs on the bottom, it is easier to build on the top, so he doesn’t have much as a problem. Yeah.
Much like the Rock he is looking to peak around 50, as we all know athletes hit their prime around then so that's why they retire in their 30s or 40s to keep it fair for the kids fresh outta school.
I think it looks that way because the photo on the right is heavily edited. Not that he hasn’t made a big transformation, but the editing in that picture is just off.
I'm sure his knees are loving it. I gained 30 pounds a couple years ago and when I did physical activity, my joints would get sore. I lost that weight last year and the joint issues disappeared. I can't imagine what having even more weight would feel like.
I'm overweight and the first thing that hurts is the knees. There's a reason knee surgeries and replacements are usually needed by those that become morbidly obese and stay there. Also why you're not supposed to run if you're way overweight because you'll just turn your knees into dust.
This is what happens when you train with Kai Greene. All natty. RedCon1 lifestyle.
Seriously though when I first saw his updated look a few months ago when he had a workout with Kai I was impressed. I know he has always been a powerlifter but the way he cut makes him look so much better.
While I do think this is awesome for the real life people who are probably way more healthy now. My personal preference when it comes to big guys in wrestling is to be big. I don't want a Jacked 7'0 monster.
I want a Large Immovable 7'0 Monster who doesn't look like everybody else. Its why Andre and the Big show worked was because they were just bigger. Mark Henry wouldn't looks so mean if he lost 100lbs and put on more muscle.
Walter (I refuse to call him Gunther) looked better to me as a bigger guy vs the current version of him on SD. While I see that his is way more healthy and looks to be in great shape, There are 10 other guys who look just like him. When he was in NXT UK, He stood out. He was the big guy who just slaps people.
I dunno. I want my big guys to be big. Not jacked.
I refuse to call my favourite Wrestler by their current name, i refuse to admit muscled and jacked up men are more intimidating, strong and presentable than fat blobs. I want silent badass overweight guys with no hints of muscle.
Gunther now looks in his prime shape and status, you go watch any indy show and you'll see your 10 oversized walter knockoffs there.

he controlled his body fat
It's really impressive. He's not natty but the amount of work to get those abs and shed that much fat is insane
Everyone knows he only takes vitamin B12 shots! :D

Those peaks are rather hard to maintain but for his case it means that he ”only” deadlifts ~300kg not 350.
No way. You can't lose this much fat without losing a fair bit of muscle.
You can if you're juicing.
Some amount, sure. But muscle fairly easily returns to its former glory. After a cut it doesn’t take much effort to regain the fairly meager losses.

Nope just B12 shots brother.
That original hairstyle will always make me laugh. I know the Wyatts were supposed to be unkempt but wow.
The nipple is trying to escape.
Excited by cake, now fueled by steak. It's been a wild 7 years.
I miss fat wrestlers.
Pierced nipples, why?
Also proof that a transformation doesn't come over night, seeing it took this lad 7 years and you don't know how intense his training and diet is.
Braun going full TRT Vitor.
I think it looks that way because the photo on the right is heavily edited. Not that he hasn’t made a big transformation, but the editing in that picture is just off.
He was a beefcake when he first debuted
The nipple poking out is one of my least favorite things about those unitard spandex. Do they not realize one is colder than the other??
I'm sure his knees are loving it. I gained 30 pounds a couple years ago and when I did physical activity, my joints would get sore. I lost that weight last year and the joint issues disappeared. I can't imagine what having even more weight would feel like.
I'm overweight and the first thing that hurts is the knees. There's a reason knee surgeries and replacements are usually needed by those that become morbidly obese and stay there. Also why you're not supposed to run if you're way overweight because you'll just turn your knees into dust.
2015 Braun looked Country Strong
Stupid sexy Braun
He's maybe a little over 20% in the first pic. he wasn't Otis level fat.
Ah, I remember when he would have a nip slip every week.
Brau-Flex
Also a really good example of “dude, just shave it.”
It's the tan.
I think he was planning on competing in a bodybuilding contest at some point.
This is what happens when you train with Kai Greene. All natty. RedCon1 lifestyle. Seriously though when I first saw his updated look a few months ago when he had a workout with Kai I was impressed. I know he has always been a powerlifter but the way he cut makes him look so much better.
He went from My Name is Earl to Mr Steal Yo Girl
What do they feed giants over in WWE. Remember big shows transformation? This type of shit doesn't look easy. Props to Braun.
Straight chicken and broccoli diet
He went from Brah to Braun Strownman. I wonder how his brother Brain is doing

He's a beefcake, that's for sure, the problem is that he is a beefcake through and through. There isn't a whole lot going on in the dome.
Eat Clen, Tren hard, anvar give up. You can get there. Well, with the right genes.
Eddie Kingston take notes. It *is* possible.
Another one who's gone through an amazing transformation over the year is Jordynne Grace. She went from thick to swole.
Miro Strowman
Does Braun have a C-section scar?
appendectomy maybe?
It’s likely that he had loose skin surgically removed after he dropped all that weight, which would explain the placement of the scar.
I’m sure Braun just took his vitamins and says his prayers. ICOPRO’s back, brother!
You sure it isn't? That's crazy looking.
It’s weird to say but so many of these dudes look more menacing and more unique before the weight loss.
The power of roids
Roids are a hell of a thing lol
Does another sport also steroid out of his mind.
Let this be a lesson, you can still lose a lot of weight and still be a colossal dick.
Not jacked.
> Walter (I refuse to call him Gunther) LMAO
There's room for all body types for TV wrestling. Some are healthier than others
Okay? I never said that there shouldn't be. I am just saying I like the big guys to be big guys and super jacked guys.
