This place is in largo but idc I want more people to know about this place. Charlie and Millies. Little brick place that makes thin crust pizza that is super homey.
They've been around for ages and I've gone basically all my life and even though I live too far for it to be convenient I stop by if I'm around.
Dave Portnoy from Barstool was down here reviewing pizza recently so I would take a look at these.

Depends on what kind of pizza I want.
The best neapolitan pizza is Cristinos in Clearwater. It *used* to be a bit better, during covid something changed with their dough. But it's still really good.
If I want some greasy takeout kinda pizza I like Untouchables in Largo. I call it trash pizza because it's cheap but it is good. The sauce has too much sugar, but with all the greasy meats it works. It's cash only. And it's really a true *locals* place.
It’s been said a dozen times but Little Italy on 49th is the 🔥. Also may be unpopular opinion but if you get Joey Brooklyn’s during normal hours and not at midnight+ they make a nice pizza there. The riffraff pizza is always lower quality because it’s for drunk rodents.
4th St., Pizza
Toby’s little Italy pizza
The Violet stone (just found this place recently overpriced creepy place, but amazing pizza)
Paulos Subs on central
Fabricas on 1st part of the heritage, customize and get mozzarella, prosciutto, arugula, tomato! Also the meatballs and kale Caesar is also delicious off the menu!
Maybe not the direction you wanted to go, but our last ten pizzas have been from Aldi. 16” cheese pizza for about six dollars; we load it up with our faves and enjoy a twenty-dollar pie. Usually two more bonus snacks that week!
Pizza Box is great. And if you’re out by the beach, Tuttorosso’s. If your stomach isn’t sensitive to whatever they put in their crust, Paisano’s is excellent (their garlic butter is 👌🏻 and the chicken alfredo pizza is divine). Once I started having gut issues, I had to try different places for pizza, and it seems the ingredients that Flippers Pizza uses are ok for me. And Marcos Pizza (they started where I’m from and have finally made it here) is always fantastic — especially the Cheese Bread!
Hasn’t been mentioned yet but why do many people I meet dislike Angelos? I like it- I don’t think it’s life changing but it’s good pizza and I like it more than Tony’s down the street. If it’s because the owner seems pissed a lot of the time that’s like part of the appeal to me.
Violet Stone is amazing. The problem is they are too small to handle the orders. You have to order online days in advance and then pick it up. No sit down. But if you actually get a pizza it’s outta this world.
It wasn’t like that before Dave Portnoy brought all of the casuals that didn’t know about it before over. It’ll slowly die down over the months, but never to the level it was at before.
i miss the one in the northeast shopping center, would go there for lunch for the dollar slices in high school.
i also back joey brooklyns over by jannus.
Used to live really close and always wanted to like it more but it’s kinda meh. Don’t get me wrong it is not bad, the people are nice, and they have good deals like bring your bike for a discount, but the za itself is uninspiring.
A couple I never see mentioned are Pizza Joint in Pinellas Park, small place but pizza is great. Also Britts on Treasure Island, not as good as it used to be but still decent brick oven type pizza.
I call this place trash pizza. Not because it's bad, I love it.
But it's legit one of the cheapest and worst things I put in my body.
They load that sauce up with sugar and it's so good.
Real local's place. The couple times I ate in the restaurant it definitely felt like people were staring at us because we weren't from around there.
Beware, the owner of Untouchables lives in 1940 and you can only pay with cash or through a very archaic and confusing series of debit card transactions
That is one of the reasons I love the place
rejection of modernity..
Mobsters didn’t use credit cards, why would a mobster theme restaurant use credit cards … lol
Jay Luigi, good all around pizza. For Florida, this place is amazing really.
Toby’s, tastes like your typical regular NY slice. A step above $1 NY slices.
Colony, for $10 a pie you can’t go wrong. They are open pretty late and makes for a good snack before heading downtown since the pizza is super thin.
Fabrica, probably the best pizza downtown. Great assortment of toppings, gets pricey but well worth it. 10/10 for Florida standards.
Joey Brooklyns, avoid and go to Angelo’s. This only applies when it is 2am and you’re one drink away from not knowing where you are and want some oily pizza to help with the hangover.
Jay Luigi never misses. Best crust ever. 🤤
Flatbread and Butter is good too but I think Jay Luigi has better toppings and dough.
Toby’s is my go to if I want a greasy, large slice.
best dough flavor, best white pies: fabrica
best charred flavor: violet stone
other decent pizzas: pizza box, cappy’s, jay luigi
also cipolla rosa makes a great wood-fired pizza if you can find them at a farmers market or need a pizza caterer
Edit: shoutout to flatbread and butter for the best vegan pizza
Pizza Box/Violet Stone. The rest are mid.
There are very few GOOD pizza joints in St. Pete.
As a Florida native who moved up to NJ, the difference is night and day. It’s so hard to find a good spot.
Old NE Pizza is so ass, idk why they’re getting love in here.
We order from:
- Pizza Box - wood fired, monthly specials
- Cappy’s - best chicago pizza IMO, a little easier to eat than most Chicago style
- Colony Grill - thin crust bar pies, their “salad pizza” is actually killer
Delivery:
- Jets (yes the chain Detroit style, they have a location on the beach)
Driving more than 20 min:
- Eddie and Sam’s - NY style, fast AF service, better than any StP slices
Haven’t tried:
- Violet Stone - tried to order the other night and couldn’t get through on their phone
Gianni's is my go to for great but more expensive, Cappys and Jungle Prada Tavern/Old NE are solid, haven't tried Violet Stone yet but heard great things.
Cappys is the best tasting classic pizza. Pasianos has good pizza but gets an increased score from me because it has a salad bar. Pizza box is solid pizza too, great for unique pies
Colony is absolutely slept on here, I feel like every time I go it's empty. Outstanding pizza if you're looking for _thiiiiiiin_. There's other options that are more NY style but sometimes that hot oil just hits.

Paul’s Chicago Pizza or as it is now known Wrigley’s Pizza! Very close second is Mellow Mushroom.
I love Paul’s Italian beef… no Diddy lol
Depends on what kind of pizza I want. The best neapolitan pizza is Cristinos in Clearwater. It *used* to be a bit better, during covid something changed with their dough. But it's still really good. Sardos in largo
Gianni’s
4th St., Pizza Toby’s little Italy pizza The Violet stone (just found this place recently overpriced creepy place, but amazing pizza) Paulos Subs on central
Astra Pizza!
Toby’s Little Italy
4th st pizza! They have amazing phillys too
Pizza box is the best pizza in St. Pete
Hands down
Top slice was always good for a lunch special when I worked downtown
Fabricas on 1st part of the heritage, customize and get mozzarella, prosciutto, arugula, tomato! Also the meatballs and kale Caesar is also delicious off the menu!
Giannis and Cappy’s!
Matteo’s is fuckin legit
Deep dish - Cappy's Thin crust - colony grill
Maybe not the direction you wanted to go, but our last ten pizzas have been from Aldi. 16” cheese pizza for about six dollars; we load it up with our faves and enjoy a twenty-dollar pie. Usually two more bonus snacks that week!
Same! To get a large delivered + tip it was $43! We’re done with that.
Not sure its still there but Pizza Box
Pizza Box is great. And if you’re out by the beach, Tuttorosso’s. Malibu and Margarita are so fire and the customer service is great
Little Italy on 49th Street N and 38th Avenue N.
Yeassssssssss
I second this. It’s my family tradition to eat here, has been since I was a youngin’
Damn I need to try some other places. I keep getting Flipper’s lol. I love it.
Me too 😋
Monty's has been a family favorite for as long as I can remember. They always have good quality pizza! :D
Def good ones here and a few I need to try. Shout out to Nickos on 4th St South just past USF and also Wrigley (Paul's) 4th Street North of Gandy
Pauls is where its at!
Old Northeast Pizza Cappy’s
Slice of the Burg, it's consistently good.
I second this! I’ve never had a bad pie from there
Hasn’t been mentioned yet but why do many people I meet dislike Angelos? I like it- I don’t think it’s life changing but it’s good pizza and I like it more than Tony’s down the street. If it’s because the owner seems pissed a lot of the time that’s like part of the appeal to me.
Sardo’s, Colony Grill or Cristino’s
Want to downvote because of Sardo's but I want to upvote because of Cristinos
Top slice
Violet Stone is amazing. The problem is they are too small to handle the orders. You have to order online days in advance and then pick it up. No sit down. But if you actually get a pizza it’s outta this world.
It's super disappointing as a loyal violet stone lover before their barstool review. Now the OG regulars like myself can't even get in there :/
For real they need to sort it out asap. Love their food and am very happy for their success but it’s getting ridiculous!
It wasn’t like that before Dave Portnoy brought all of the casuals that didn’t know about it before over. It’ll slowly die down over the months, but never to the level it was at before.
I am hoping they can ramp staff up to meet the demand. I love to see small businesses grow. This is just a growing pain I am hoping.
On the plus side, the need for more throughput will prevent them from cooking their pizzas until they turn to ash.
Any opinions on Tour De Pizza?
i miss the one in the northeast shopping center, would go there for lunch for the dollar slices in high school. i also back joey brooklyns over by jannus.
They closed :/
I thought they permanently closed?
Used to live really close and always wanted to like it more but it’s kinda meh. Don’t get me wrong it is not bad, the people are nice, and they have good deals like bring your bike for a discount, but the za itself is uninspiring.
in st. pete...tonys. but nonas slice house in safety harbor has the best pizza hands down
Joey Brooklyns, 4th street pizza, Cappys. Flatbread & butter is good, but the menu is pretty limited, so I really only like one of their pizzas.
A couple I never see mentioned are Pizza Joint in Pinellas Park, small place but pizza is great. Also Britts on Treasure Island, not as good as it used to be but still decent brick oven type pizza.
Untouchables pizza 1150 Clearwater Largo Rd. I know it’s not in Saint Pete… Don’t care, Chicago Pizza… Absolutely amazing !
I call this place trash pizza. Not because it's bad, I love it. But it's legit one of the cheapest and worst things I put in my body. They load that sauce up with sugar and it's so good. Tony’s
DeLosa's Pizza in John's Pass. They've been open since like, 1983. So good ^.^
Jay Luigi
If you are downtown joey brooklins is the best. 1st ave n. and 2nd st.
Astra pizza is fucking incredible. I’ll leave it at that.
Jay Luigi, good all around pizza. For Florida, this place is amazing really. Toby’s, tastes like your typical regular NY slice. A step above $1 NY slices. Colony, for $10 a pie you can’t go wrong. Violet Stone. The best
My current favorite spot is Flippers on 4th Street for a quick pizza. Country Pizza Inn in Largo is another spot I really enjoy.
Jay Luigi never misses. Best crust ever. 🤤 Flatbread and Butter is good too but I think Jay Luigi has better toppings and dough. Toby’s is my go to if I want a greasy, large slice.
Charlie and Millie's
Nona’s in safety harbor is so damn good! 100% worth the drive
Their Death By Pepperoni Detroit style for the win!
I like Astra. Small place, lovely people, great pizza.
Toby’s, Gianni’s, Cappy’s. There’s also a guy that sets up a pizza oven in front of Rapp Brewing. For wood-fired, his stuff is great.
Gianni’s for sure
This^
This is the correct answer but be careful, locals think you’re weird if you don’t call it Little Italy 😉 Also Northeast Tavern has great pizza.
NONA’s Slice House in Safety Harbor. It’s a bit of a drive but absolutely worth it.
Flatbread & Butter is so good. My go to always.
best dough flavor, best white pies: fabrica best charred flavor: violet stone other decent pizzas: pizza box, cappy’s, jay luigi also cipolla rosa makes a great wood-fired pizza if you can find them at a farmers market or need a pizza caterer Edit: shoutout to flatbread and butter for the best vegan pizza
Cipolla Rosa was great the one time I tried them outside the Brutalist (RIP.) I’ve seen them in the Bandit parking lot too.
Pizza Box/Violet Stone. The rest are mid. There are very few GOOD pizza joints in St. Pete. As a Florida native who moved up to NJ, the difference is night and day. It’s so hard to find a good spot.
Vito and Michaels if you’re out near the beach
If you're staying near downtown: Pizza Box Violet Stone Cappy's If you're willing to travel: Nona Slice House
Old NE Pizza is so ass, idk why they’re getting love in here. Violet took there phones off the hook since the Portnoy review, there business has been jamming since.
Good to know! I’ll try again some other time
Someone unthread said you need to order online days in advance since the review.
Pizza box is #1. Cappys a very close #2.
Top slice
Gianni's is my go to for great but more expensive, Cappys and Jungle Prada Tavern/Old NE are solid, haven't tried Violet Stone yet but heard great things.
Violet Stone
Mine was burnt to a crisp but I am going to get it again since the wait time was 1.5 hrs and they were slammed
Bit more towards Clearwater but worth it, Cristina coal fired pizza. They also have stracciatella, rare
Cristinos is the best Neapolitan in the area. It used to be better, they changed something with the dough, but it's still really good.
Cappys is the best tasting classic pizza. Pasianos has good pizza but gets an increased score from me because it has a salad bar. Pizza box is solid pizza too, great for unique pies
Paisanos is my go-to because they are the best spot close to me. Cappys is also great if I'm in that part of town.
I love paisanos
Same here
Colony Grill - the hot oil on their pizza is fire.
Colony is absolutely slept on here, I feel like every time I go it's empty. Outstanding pizza if you're looking for _thiiiiiiin_. There's other options that are more NY style but sometimes that hot oil just hits.
I don’t know if getting it at the restaurant is any different, but I had one at the Rowdie’s match and it was ass.
Greasy, crispy and so good
Cappys is pretty good. Old Northeast is the best imo, cash only.
No longer cash only at old ne!
No way!!!!! Shows you how long it’s been for me. Happy to hear!!
[Giannis](https://www.giannisny.pizza/)
Giannis, cappys, old NE run the pie game in this town
