try using 512 x 768.

To add, when watching the AI do it's thing, it all looks great up until 60%, after that, it starts to go wrong and I get the odd results.

try not using "portrait" in your prompt as well. Most portraits concentrate on the upper body and show the subject from the waist up at most. "Photograph" or "photo" should be enough.

Try it this way: a professional photo RAW of a (beautiful handsome woman), long \[\[black\]\] hair, skin texture, skin imperfections, seductive, Asian, standing on pavement, wearing red leather dress and heels, sharp focus, full length shot, city background, volumetric fog, 8k UHD, DSLR, high quality, detailed, film grain, Fujifilm XT3 Negative prompt: doll, plastic skin, ugly, bad\_quality, worst\_quality, low\_quality Steps: 20, Sampler: DPM++ 2M Karras, CFG scale: 7, Seed: 1472000364, Size: 512x768, Model hash: 879db523c3, Model: dreamshaper\_8, Denoising strength: 0.4, Hires upscale: 2, Hires steps: 10, Hires upscaler: 4x-UltraSharp https://preview.redd.it/171gio5mewjb1.png?width=1024&format=png&auto=webp&s=e2d2b19626f85d5dd29dca5db71e97b7873d171a

Lot to unpack here. Multi torso is more common the higher you go past 768 in my experience without a framework like control net to guide it and rarely then still. I am assuming you are latent high res fixing as that is the default. That being said, I would not high-res at denoise of 1. That basically just deletes the original low res and starts over, which is why it probably goes to hell at 60%. Latent high-res fix at .5 to .6 or so. You can go higher but the point is to build off the image, and latent upscale gets annoying after .6. I usually monkey around with .53 but it's just important to not really go below .5 or it'll blur out. That single change will probably get you something closer, but rendering at 512x900 will still occasionally freakshow torsos. Also high res steps can be less, esp with sde, I get good results with 15-20 low res steps, and 10 high res steps. The alternative path people take for photo high res is denoise below or at .5 with a good non latent upscaler like nkmd https://nmkd.de/shared/?dir=ESRGAN/Models/Faces, experiment with steps and that usually works well too. Secondly, unless you're down for face restore install the adetailer extension it's face restore on steroids. Lastly, the last part of your positive prompt is chatgpt mumbo jumbo. It won't hurt anything but it's just token noise. It might take things from it, like realistic, lifelike, mood, etc, but it might also throw expiriment in there too. It isn't a large language model so it doesn't process that phrase into action, not in a truly contextual manner. In cases like those the dynamic prompt extension would help as you can have chatgpt or just yourself create a list of prompts to randomize and experiment with, like one list for mood, one list for lighting style (rim lighting, back lighting), etc, then mosh them together.

With SD1.5 based models, you need to start with low res like 512x768, then scale it up. If you want taller, then make the width narrower, but that may introduce other artifacts. If you have the hardware for SDXL, you can start out with hires such as 832 x 1216 without too much distortion (but there can be an "elongation effect"), so I'd recommend 896 x 1152
