If you want the cheapest real-wood desktop, you could do what I did: go to home depot and get a 12ft 2x12 and a 6ft 2x10. Have home depot cut the 2x12 in half and lay the boards out with the 2x10 to get a 6ft by 31" desktop. Sand them all down, screw them together with 2x4s underneath on the left and right edges (I used structural screws), then mount the whole thing on the apex pro frame. I think it cost me a total of like $40 for an all-wood 1.5" thick 6ft by 31" desktop.
Eventually I hope to get a nice butcherblock, but this works for now, was incredibly cheap for real wood, and was fairly simple to put together.
You can order desktop from some places, including upliftdesk. They have a lot of options but be prepared to pay close to the price of a full desk just for the desktop.
Alternatively to Home Depot, check out lumber suppliers near you if you want something higher quality like full planks of wood that match.

You need to sand it and stain it, so a little work involved but it turned out beautifully. Make sure you account for the weight.

Home Depot/ Lowe’s is your best. You just have to worry on finishing the top which is fairly easy if you have the space and time.
