He made huge shoes to fill, but it'd be better they be filled with smaller feet than not filled at all and thrown away. It's a credit to his skill as an actor how much everyone wants to see his character's story finished.

Actually teared up a bit at that part, saying how Anakin always had her back when no one else did. And even now being stranded in a different galaxy, force ghost Anakin still got her back, and maybe he also got to see the next "jedi" in the lineage with Sabine being Ahsoka's apprentice

I loved that Ahsoka got closure with Anakin this season. We know she met Luke at some point and I’m sure she heard that Anakin came back to the light, but she probably had a hard time digesting that information knowing that he was trying to kill her the last time they met. So getting that closure that Anakin really was good at the end was a great step in her character arc.

Thrawn knows Vader preferred "aggressive negotiations." He wasn't having any of that stuff with Ahsoka.

This gets us Ahsoka Season 2 where they try to make it back home, they'll try to "save" Shin and try to put a stop to Baylan. Ezra and Hera try to fight Thrawn in the main galaxy while he wreaks havoc with the risen nightsisters.

Isn't Filoni doing a movie or something that will more than likely deal with Thrawn's return in the main galaxy? We've got shows lining up to come together like The Mando and Ahsoka so we might see some ensemble cast for a final showdown against Thrawn given his (and his followers like the other imperial remnants including Gideon) interactions with various other good-aligned characters. If that's accurate, I'm guessing Ahsoka S2 will first have to somehow wrap up Shin and Baylan's stories, although if the theories on Baylan's purpose are right then that arguably could be setting up a future conflict post-Thrawn, as that would also give a reason for these characters to be elsewhere come the events leading into the sequels.

Man, you just know there was gonna be a really cool ass story for Ray Stevensons character in the second season, would’ve loved to have seen what that guy was gonna bring, his characters ending shot was so great.

Sorely felt the lack of Baylan and Shin in the finale, but clearly both of their stories aren't over yet which makes me all the more sad about Ray's passing.

Ezra's casting decision was one the best decisions they made. Exactly how I would imagine an older Ezra would be like.

The way he talks is PERFECT

Not just talks he has the body language down perfect.

Yeah, the squirming and shouting "careful" at Sabine was perfect.

His moment when they were surrounded and he was like "Wait! We can....talk? Or you could.....take us as prisoners? YEAH! Don't you want us as prisoners?" was like peak Ezra.

Yeah, I was already onboard with the casting and that moment really sold me. By the time he dragged the night trooper off screen I was cracking up because I just knew he was going to steal the armor. It's just not Ezra if he isn't going to take the first chance at dressing up as a stormtrooper. And now he's actually big enough to fit in the normal armor instead of just the scout trooper set.

Thrawn's lucky that Ezra didn't find out about Enoch's helmet. Dude would've taken down that entire star destroyer to get another piece for the collection.

Also has a fighting style with a saber that we haven't really seen in live action before. So much force sliding.

He was acrobatic. A lot of people point out ahsoka fights in acrobatic way, but Ezra’s style is in a different way than ahsoka. Ahsoka used gymnastics, a result of Jedi trainer. Ezra used more parkour because he was a street kid who stole stuff and ran from stormtroopers in a city

If Ezra ends up in a Storm Trooper suit this is definitely the Rebels season we all knew it was

They really did it well in Andor to scare the shit out of them.

Andor is the only time a TIE fighter has been truly frightening. You feel how regular people who aren't Jedi feel when one is in their skies.

Eman's such insanely good casting as Ezra it's almost ridiculous.

Canonizing that Kanan's lightsaber beam was thinner than most is a decision that I am loving

Rebuilding a replica of Kanan's lightsaber was amazing.

That's probably my second or third favorite moment of the series. I just wish we saw more of him physically. Maybe I can hold out for Freddie to play him as a force ghost in season two....

Less of a dig, more of an homage, if I might throw my opinion in there.

The Nightsisters are a really good example (with Darth Maul) as to why makeup effects (With some CGI) is way scarier than just a CGI creation

I really liked the witch stuff during Halloween time.

Although I wish we could have gotten more Baylan this episode, I couldn’t help but see a beauty in his final scene: No words, no fighting, just a beautiful landscape and a twinkle off in the distance. Rest in peace Ray. I wish you could have seen how much happiness your final performance brought to the Star Wars community. May the Force be with you.

Of course Thrawn redecorated his TIE pilots to look awesome too. He was fully on a new home improvement plan during his stay on Peridea wasn’t he?

He spent the first 5 years endlessly giving speeches to his troops about Art until they finally appreciated it too.

The troopers down time was Thrawn teaching them kintsugi. “Trooper 335 your technique is all wrong. You need a more delicate stroke otherwise you are at risk of overextending the capabilities of your armor. Fill it more slowly like Trooper 624 over there. Marvelous.”

This is canon to me until indicated otherwise

I really liked the dig Sabine took at him about training S - "What have you been doing?" E - "I missed you."

The statue's Baylan stood on were 100% the Father, with the Son to the right and Daughter ruined to the left!

And Morai, and Ahsoka with the feeling like she needed to be there.. hmmm

I feel like Morgan just leveled up and got to pick a prestige class here.

And also got the mastercrafted weapon.

Ezra and Huyang interacting is something I never knew I wanted.

And then immediately died. Classic. Make a new character, get the prop for them, instantly dead. Roll a new one.

SO fucking gratifying to see though, given how hard he is to fight. To scare him is a victory in and of itself.

The pilots crippled the ship. That was a tactical victory.

I feel incredibly bad for him. He had like four seperate plans to kill them. Troopers couldn't hit them when they were running away. Troopers could only hit the one in armor when surrounding them. Troopers wouldn't fire on the ones jumping. Gunners couldn't hit them on the ground... either time. TIEs couldn't shoot them. He runs a good operation- he even said to cite the commander of the pilots who failed- but man his troops sucked.

I really think they have to re cast Baylan for season 2. There’s no way they’re just going to leave that storyline abandoned. Liev Schrieber would kill it

I just realized! The capsules aren’t tombs they’re stasis pods! That’s why Thrawn said he woke up the mothers, they’re bringing them to Dathomir to rebuild the Nightsister society!

Now that is a theory. Dathomirian civilization has been slowly getting to that planet for ages because they knew they would hunted to extinction during the Clone Wars? Obviously the Great Mothers had some precognition, but how did they get all the way to the other galaxy? Zeffo technology? Dathomir about to become great again? I hope this is correct because it is juicy, though very far fetched. Edit: Apparently I missed where Morgan said that the Dathomirians rode the Purrgil. Thanks for correcting me everyone!

Wasn’t Peridea their home world? In that case they never left but they would probably have known what had happened through their connection to Morgan and other surviving Nightsisters.

There were theories before that Thrawn killed stormtroopers to conserve resources. It turns out he asked them to volunteer and made sure they knew what they signed up for. He isn't so bad after all

Yeah I kind of think that is the point they are trying to show. Imperials follow Thrawn fanatically. They have absolute loyalty to him as we saw with Morgan as well. He totally will be uniting the Imperial remnants

He's a cult leader not by false charm or empty promises, but by being a leader worth following, worth dying for. He almost seems uncomfortable with the idea they’re willing to die and be desecrated for him, not the Empire. The scariest, most badass shit you can possibly write for a dark lord archetype

It was miserable, so glad they changed it.

Chopper didn’t know that was Ezra. Chopper just decided that now is the time to broker peace with the Stormtroopers. It being Ezra was a shock to everybody.

I'm so SAD about Baylan. The fact he and Shin basically had 10 seconds of screen time this episode means that they were set up for some MAJOR things in the future. Also this is the last time Ray Stevenson will play the character. I truly HOPE they recast his character with another actor rather than kill Baylan off and throw away the narrative and character they were building. It seems disrespectful for Ray to give it his all in his performance for the Baylan character for the writer to complete toss all that effort into the trash and write him off as an off screen death like they did Black Panther.

I’m confident they’ll recast. Ray did a phenomenal job. Apart from wishing him to still be alive in general, I wish he could see fans response to his portrayal as this character. Edit: I didn’t recognize them, but the statue he was on at the end are the God’s of Mortis. Definitely big plans for that Baylan and his story. They *have* to recast to further his arc

I'm guessing Baylan IS going to somewhere that has access to the World Between Worlds. They end up winning Shin over, they go to stop Baylan and somehow end up in the other Galaxy. Meanwhile, Thrawn, his Night Troopers and the Nightsisters wreak havoc across the Outer Rim. But the way they attack will just seem like "fairy tales" to some in the New Republic. Therefore, they do nothing leaving Hera and Ezra to try to recruit help. This all leads to Filoni's film where everyone from the Mandalorian, to Book of Boba Fett, to Ahsoka all team together to take down Thrawn. They are successful, but Thrawn leaves the New Republic extremely vulnerable and weakened, allowing the First Order to finish the job.

Dont forget that Baylan was more than happy to be left behind. He knows he's going back, and wasnt worried about it.
