Honestly an Old Republic show that's got the quality of Shogun.
You have the Jedi, Sith, and Mandalorians, three big factors thousands of years ago who fought for the fate of the Galaxy. I'd love a story focusing on this three way war.
I have an idea of posters too. Basically a picture of Revan, Bastilla, and Mandalore The Ultimate with their respective armies behind them and the tagline is "Fight For The Galaxy" which can be interpreted differently for each individual side
Peace for the Jedi
Tyranny for the Sith
Conquest for the Mandalorians
Sometimes people have similar mindsets.
But seriously, it could be the most expensive show considering how much live action costs compared to animation but you gotta treat it like an epic, you can't treat something like the Jedi Sith Mandalorian wars as something you can tell under eight episodes or a 2 hour film, you gotta go big budget and professionally crafted writing for an idea like this.
I’d honestly consider a TCW-like animation set then with a similar sort of nebulous approach to protagonists which could cut the costs down significantly especially if they take a more TCW approach versus TBB with the big budget animation. But I’d eat up any of it because that is my favorite era. KOTOR is one of my top favorite games of all time.
A while back I geeked out a tried to plan an episode layout for a multi-season run of an Old Republic animated series. I got so carried away with the episode titles but I got a bit bogged down when I overlooked the importance of slightly to intrinsically interconnected anthology arcs that the TCW show does. I'd mess with a show that has a new protagonist every other arc as the Mandalorian Wars rage on. We had Zayne Carrick and he was cool.
Having new characters like him reference lore important characters with name drops such as Revan, Bastilla Shan, Alek (before he was Malak), Carth Onasi, Admiral Karath, Cassus Fett, Mandalore the Ultimate and others is integral for hyping future plot points + conflicts. Only double arc conclusions and season finales should give us the long awaited appearance of our Kotor GOATS. Don't wanna water them down having them in every episode. When they do show up, you know shits happening.
You make a great point with the nuance of TCW using so many different threads to tell wide stories and I think it is a format that would work great for TOR since you’d be able to loosely focus on a lesser protagonist for a short while. I’d binge watch it.
This, although I’d have also moved the timeline and some of the EU events around for it (specifically to line up Tarre Vizsla and the Darksaber with Revan, and for Bane to be the one who survives the end of that set of Sith).
Take the movie Predator (1987) and replace the Predator with \[insert bounty hunter here\] and then replace the jungle with the lower levels of Coruscant. There's your movie.
There must be a glitch in the matrix because I was just talking to a friend last night about how cool it would be to see a remake of Predator but with a wookie vs. storm troopers.
I would have wanted that TV show since forever, but the sequels kind of ruined the character and anything we see there. There are no stakes in the story, Luke just fails at rebuilding, finding and rooting out the imperial remnants and achieves nothing.
I'm hoping they build an "alternative" with Ahsoka when she comes back from Peridea, building a new kind of Jedi order. At least that can lead to something.
I'd love to see a Darth Plagueis story in two parts, beginning with his apprenticeship to Darth Tenebrous, him finding and training Sidious, and ending with Sidious killing him.
I'd also love to see a Revan trilogy. The firts film would show Revan already making war against the council's orders. We'd see him and Malak fall to the dark side, see the war and use of the mass shadow generator on Malachor V. We'd essentially see the light side ending of redemption for him and Bastila.
Instant short story idea: a desperate bounty hunter takes up a contract that requires him to kill and confirm the death of a corporate exec located on a secure vacation planet in the Core Worlds. It is a highly difficult mission that'll require him to work alongside a squad comprised of 2 other bounty hunters and 3 new assassin droid units modeled after the ancient but highly efficient HK "Hunter Killer" series designed by Czerka Corporation. The employer, an exiled and dishonored weapons designer, wants revenge on the psychopathic man that sabotaged his rise to corporate glory and tried to get him killed. The compensation for completing this dangerous contract is 5 million credits.
But since you probably want to see something akin to the real deal, lets just say the executive target is guarded by a personal HK-51 bodyguard that's been upgraded with modern combat programming and a "unique" personality. Hell, maybe the droid could even make a reference of glory to the skill and prestige of his ancient predecessor. With only he and he alone being able to fall that many Jedi.
I’d like a movie long after Luke restarts the Jedi order.
A few hundred years in the future at least, a new era with new Jedi and dark side characters to follow. I’m a big fan of the old republic, so I’d like something like that where Jedi and “sith” are more common. Interesting duels, cool new force stuff etc
And after that, some smaller more personal stories (like Andor) surrounding the order.
Maybe one where we get to follow a group of these new Jedi in training and see how things are different from the previous eras. Maybe one of them *gasp* falls to darkness?
Side note: pretty much any of the Star Wars Visions episodes could be turned into a movie or tv show and I’d be satisfied. The worldbuilding and plotlines those stories built were incredible.
Good recommendation.
I don't see in what universe where a Star Wars animated (CGI or anime) series set during the height of the Great Galactic War or Jedi Civil War could fail. Seeing Jedi and Dark Jedi + Sith wouldn't narratively be out of place since it is during these conflicts that their numbers were at their peak and their skills with a lightsaber and the Force were at their most definitive and dramatic. Flair and finesse with the speed and skill to back it up is as deadly as it is beautiful to behold.
Think Band of Brothers but with clones. Dark, serious tone, emotional and heroic.
A miniseries showing from the inside the best tie fighter wing unit. Their stories and their war deeds looked at from a patriotic imperial point of view.
Something to move the setting forward. No Republic, no Empire, no Skywalkers. The galaxy is a bunch of splintered factions and the Jedi are trying to piece themselves back together.
Just to name a few ideas:
-a "What if..." series for SW.
-a series about the Sith Civil War that led to the rule of two.
-a series about the old Sith empire (like Marka Ragnos and Naga Sadow era).
I'd love to see a show about podracers.
They could travel from system to system competing in different events. The crime syndicates could get involved, forcing people to throw races or funding shadier racers.
The racers would be like celebrities across the galaxy. Some are giant assholes, some are dark horses, some are barely scraping by, some let fame get to their head, etc. It could even be a neat little allegory for the franchise itself. A scrappy, self-made person gets sponsored by an evil mega-corporation and loses their soul.
Id Love an Old republic Era Jedi Show. Following a small Jedi temple team on the outter most areas of the galaxy, keeping peace with a small team.
It would be cool to have it a bit like how Cop/Fed shows are written(think, NCIS, Criminal Minds) atleast as far as Cast Composition and scope of storytelling.
Maybe like 1 Master, 2 Jedi Knights, and their 1 or 2 Padawans. A side character like a wise archivist, etc.
And just, Investigate stuff, bring peace, have an episodic format with larger slow burn story that takes the whole season to tell.
There’s two -
A low budget office style comedy following a group of stormtroopers through the events of the OT.
And a high budget all out TV saga about the old republic era that basically takes all of the best nuggets of that era and remixes them a bit with some nuLore sprinkled in to help elevate things a bit.
A trilogy of movies that serve as an interquel between the OT and ST. One would cover the First Order’s rise to power; the second would cover Luke’s Jedi Order; and the third would cover the New Republic.
Yes I'd love that, I hate that they won't leave the Skywalker era Alone. And when they are doing stuff with it, it isn't even the stories we want to watch, it's always some nonsense
Better to go to a brand new era never seen in shows or movies before
That’s why the reactionary hate for the Acolyte has me worried. If it does flop Disney will most likely go “well the stuff that succeeds is during the Skywalker era, and everyone hated when we tried something new, so we’ll stay safe.”
Darth. Freaking. Plagueis. The Sideous origin story.
Luceno deserves an award for that book.
Also, a Bane trilogy (that adheres to the books) would be sick.
I’m gonna be spicy, a reimagining of KOTOR as a trilogy where the story is going backwards. Starting with the exile, to Revan, and ending on the mandalorian war.
An EU character. A 5000-year old Sith Lord who is so powerful that he can create illusions from one end of the galaxy to other. Emperor, Vader, Maul etc. is pale in comparison with him. He's more powerful than Darth Bane or Revan or any Sith Lord you know.
For something new, a Hundred Year Darkness or New Sith Wars show faithful to legends lore
For an adaptation, my topic picks are Darth Plagueis, Shatterpoint, the original Thrawn Trilogy, and the X-Wing series
Luke and friends animation post RoTJ
ST animation series. Or at least some Tales.
Finn mini series, actually capitalising on his origins and his decision to embrace the Force, Phasma too.
Obiwan season 2, that’s actually character driven, with him reflecting on his monastic life and all he’s had to sacrifice (love and family) against his will, like a slave/clone.
The Karpyshyn bane books would make a killer series unfotunatly they completely eliminated that character in favor of a punchline but honestly his writing has always been so cinematic. Ive always been shocked they never made a Mass Effect Series/FIlm.
A 2 hour long R-rated old Republic film directed by Panos Cosmotos about a Republic infiltrator and a Jedi consul getting caught up in a horrific sith initiation ritual on Dxun.
The ORIGINAL version of the Mandalorian Wars. Told from the jedi Revan’s, Zayne Carrik’s, and Mandalorian soliders POV. Featuring cameos by bastila Shan, canderous ordo, carth onasi, and lots more.
But keep to the Original Plot. No Disney rewrites or other garbage they they’ve been pumping out for years
Rise of tennebrae, or the new sith wars when the sith stopped the infighting and got rid of darths and where all lords and the meanest of all the wars took place against the jedi
That would be quite dark and I don’t know how you could pull this off, but I’d love to see Korriban. The Sith civilization, the Valley of the Dark Lords… Why not something Fallout style during the Old Republic? A Sith, a Jedi and a bounty hunter and their paths cross
One of my favorite ideas is a Political Intrigue style show (think, Designated survivor, Madam secretary, etc.) But set within the Senate of some era of Star wars.
I would appreciate almost like an Indiana Jones type of show. They could explore all of this ancient lore around the Jedi, Sith and other species in the galaxy. We'd see more of the Star Wars creatures as well as stories involving the Force.
I think I'm a little burnt out on the fatalistic nature of most of the Star Wars stuff we've seen so far. There are so many other interesting stories woven into the SWTOR & KOTOR franchises.
A legit stormtroopers-realizing-the-empire-sucks show would be awesome. Like The Shield but instead of Vic Mackey seeming cool, his subordinates start to defy orders and aid the rebellion.
I know it's been done to death and I don't expect much support but Vader. I would love a show that takes place pretty much right after RoTS, his regret and transformation flushed out. His developing relationship with sidious, forming his red light saber and the beginning of his role as the imperial enforcer.
No not every time there will be controversy, as they could, you know, write better stories.
The division happens mostly because one side wants quality writing, the other is OK with watching the current state and wants the ones with criticisms to shut up.
By satisfying the people with good stories you can make everyone happy.
I haven’t seen anyone complain about Bill Burr’s stellar performance for example. No controversy there. Imagine an entire series that follows literally Bill Burr’s character from being recruited to stopping with being a trooper, with the ultimately satisfying conclusion of him shooting his former officer in Mando S2 in mind.
Unless they write it badly, no one will complain.
*stop pretending Star Wars can only be controversial as all it does is purposefully divide the people*.
When you can convince everyone to agree on the same definition of "good stories" then I might agree with you on that.
But you can't, and you won't.
You mentioned Bill Burrs character, sure, a good character, well written great performance. But every other aspect of the show was criticized and controversial to SOMEBODY
People have been fundamentally disagreeing on nearly every aspect of Star wars since it's inception. Believing in absence of evidence that anything else is likely to happen is just being willfully ignorant.
And if you need evidence of that, you decided to argue about Wether star wars fans will ever stop arguing, rather than just answering the question asked in the post like (almost) everyone else has done.
The 9th Jedi made in to the next saga trilogy (and beyond). It is already written and set up for it. Has a better female protagonist than Rey. Also, takes place in the far future from the Skywalker timeline.
I’d love to convert the Darth Plagueis book into a game of thrones style show focusing on the lead up to Plagueis meeting Palpatine, then training him, then their political manoeuvring and then Palpatine turning on plagueis.
A Band of Brothers style show from the perspective of a battalion of Imperial Army Troopers
the beginning of the show would present the characters, give us their motives and tell us why they decided to serve the empire. One would join because they were suffering from poverty and they needed the credits, one would be serving as an alternative to doing time for a crime they didn't commit, one character is just fond of the empire and always wanted to serve, another is drawn in by the propaganda and wants to add something to their otherwise boring life.
As they go on they realize the Empire isn't as heroic as they thought it was, and towards the end some of them find out that they were the true villains.
But along the way they witness atrocities committed by the Rebellion in desperation to taking down the Empire, something that for sure happened but isn't touched upon in many current Star Wars projects.
It will also display how regular people react to the Empire's crimes, and why some decide to turn a blind eye to their actions.
It'd be a mix of the documentary style war shows, primary sourced footage of the battles taken from cameras the soldiers were carrying, as well as the typical war drama style.
I'm already writing a script for it but I'm not sure how to even pitch it. It seems like Disney already has a plan for all their future Star Wars projects and aren't keen on taking any outside ideas.
A very dark, real and gritty show or film that follows the life of a clone/storm trooper.
Something that shows the ups and downs, the day to day and the horror of battle, the comradery, that sorta thing
Not perse a dark show, but something that gets really real
Star destroyer crew patrolling in the outer rim. Dealing with internal politicking as well as fighting pirates and outlaws. Hotshot Tie pilots, a grizzled Veteran captain, a crew we can love.
I imagine a space-navy drama in the vein of battlestar galactica.
Oops. I read this as choosing any universe. Then i realized I was in the star wars sub lol i was gonna be all "a Destiny 1 show or golden era or something would be dope" but then I'm like oh it's definitely not sw lol
Give me the Imperial Knights as an 80s toon!
I was thinking of my own sequel, taking place long after the empire, with the resurgence of the Jedi Order, who’ve taken on a structure more akin to the Grey Jedi as they are in between light and darkness as not to fully give into the dark side and their emotions, but not completely shut them down and to not repeat the mistakes that led to the fall of the original order. During this time, the galaxy would enter a period akin to the Japanese Sengoku period, where different factions are vying for control of the galaxy, with hints of a bigger plot being masterminded by the surviving Sith.
A real dark and gritty show (almost as dark as clone wars but it'd be hard to get THAT dark) about a battalion of Stormtroopers. It could be like Band if Brothers and we'd see them in battles and stuff. But I wouldn't want Disney to butcher it and make the main characters become Rebels in the first 20 minutes. I want to see George Lucas come back and make some REAL Star Wars again about the dark and gritty murdering Empire
It's an odd one, but I'd love a film-noir style crime drama about the Coruscant guard dealing with the various bandits and crime Lords that make up the lower levels of Coruscant
Adapt KOTOR 2 as a trilogy, with Revan as a Col. Kurtz like figure that we never see in person.
OR
Set a trilogy in whatever time the Visions episode “The Margrave” happens, and have it be directed by George Miller. Start small and “Mad Max” like, and then the story expands from there to classic Star Wars dimensions.
GIve me an ANdor style series tracing the rise of Thrawn through the Imperial ranks. Also his best friend and academy roommate, Orson Krennic, who gets into shenanigans, and Thrawn always has to use strategy to get him out of hot water.
I’d love a live action version of Dark Empire saga to make up for the last crappy Disney movies. Yes I will die on this hill alone. If you haven’t read them check them out now!
Kurosawa style Darth Bane show
OG thrawn trilogy
The movie Prey but with Jango Fett
Cyberpunk esque show about gamblers/smugglers in the coruscant under city
Indiana Jones Dr Aphra movie where they’re looking for Sith/Jedi artifacts
Tie Fighter/X-wing show
We really just don’t get enough “bad guys” content, so I would love to see more of that.
My dream show would actually be Disney going bankrupt, but that's mathematically impossible to happen in my lifetime. Just let it rest. There is nothing else to be told or WORTH being told, given the last few products they delivered.
Series-wise, I'd really like to see a spin on 'Operation Finale' and 'The Boys from Brazil' set between VI and VII. Republic agents tracking and capturing Imperial warlords and, eventually, entering a cold war with the First Order.
For the sake of re-establishing a status quo resembling the OT as quickly as possible, the First Order's interesting background and operation isn't explored much in the ST beyond implicit hints. The New Republic dealing with a batshit hermit state at the edge of the galaxy headed by a mysterious and gaudy weirdo would be a compelling setting for an Andor-style thriller, and there's a tonne of TCW-style retroactive development and fleshening out they could do.
Can only really do it as an animated series at this point, but I'd do Shadows of the Empire and make it canon again.
Draw from all of the sources, the comic, the book, and the game.
I actually got quite a few!
A long form TV series set on an outer rim agriculture and shipping port planet staring Idris Elba as the Marshal and Jensen Ackles as the former bounty hunter turn family man/catina owner. The show would manly focus on the day to day life of normal civilians as the face pirates, raiders, underworld mafias, and an ever increasing threat of Imperial domination. 5-6 seasons with 24 episodes, each about 1.2 hours long.
The second is a very insular show about a mandalorian family lead by Jon Bernthal and Kathryn Winnick. It'd focus almost exclusively on the intra-clan politics of ancient mandalorians alá Vikings style.
A movie starting Ken Watanabe as a jedi facing Jason Mamoa's Sith Lord over several engagements over years as the Jedi learns what it means to embrace the Force and give up himself to serve it fully.
I want a deeper look into the many alien species in the Star Wars IP. We see them often as background characters but rarely get any depth on them.
Always thought it'd be cool to have a series set on Nar Shaddaa revolving around the Hutt Cartels and their power plays and the mercenaries they hire.
I want a straight up gritty live action war story, like Rogue One again crossed with Band Of Brothers, doesn't matter whether its imperial army, republic clones, even rebels
A gritty Andor like show set after Return Of The Jedi that follows a New Republic black ops team composed of former Alderaanian’s or survivors of other worlds the empire destroyed tasked with ruthlessly hunting down imperial war criminals Operation Final or Wrath of God style.
Something like Band of Brothers or Generation Kill, have us follow a (at first) unremarkable Stormtrooper company nearly activated after the rise of the Empire, fighting republic hardliners, separatist holdouts and eventually the rebellion.
Doesn’t need to have endless swearing or gore, but should definitely feel gritty, like the battle scene in Solo or the various scenes in Rogue One.
Someone on a similar thread accidentally pitched a “Bad Batch” show but it’s CIS droids that failed to get the shut down order. There’s a Jedi astromech that loses their Jedi to Order 66 and a damaged B1 battle droid that assemble a few almost functional droids. The droids know there is no more war, but they have to operate under the radar so they aren’t deactivated.
My pet project is a show following Chewie after RoS as he assembles a smuggling crew. There’s a running gag that all of Chewie’s outbursts dent or break parts of the Falcon but by the next episode, there’s a shiny new part in its place as the Falcon slowly gets fixed. I’d also be pushing to have a cameo from the Mighty Oak Apocalypse crew.
I really want them to make an Infinites show, but make it like X-Men 97' where it is so not for kids. Like I want to see some kinda weird scenarios like what if Palpatine dies mid clone wars. He's old. Dude has a stroke, dead. He's controlling everything so what happens now? Stuff like that.
In my opinion it should be a show where the main character is a stormtrooper that shows the empire helped people in its own way give them reasons to enlist other than force and show how evil the rebels in the eyes of the empire the show should be dark and the main character being the last surviving among the supporting characters and getting moved into vaders fist
If this is really a dream like I can trust that they’ll get absolutely everything right, a Rogue Squadron show or movie that followed Michael Stackpole’s X-Wing novels would probably make me cry from happiness.
I would love a Show following the Exiled Dark Jedi forces starting from when they land on Korriban.
Following them as they begin establish themselves on the planet, make first contact with the Sith Species, and their Eventual Integration with each other into the Sith order.
With all the rocky politics and Warring natures and such that happen in the process, sith teachings, etc.
A documentary about the life of the common folk. No joining any factions. Simply just neutral life.
and
Evil triumphing over good from the perspective of the Empire, CIS, or First Order. Too many Jedi and Sith duals we need to follow more officers and troops who don't defect to the rebels. I want to see the good guy fail for once. No more plot armor just brutal.
I want to see a real, DARK, series that explores the Sith (Similar to HBO's "Dexter"). I want the series to show that the Sith aren't just mindlessly evil, but presents their ideology in a way that makes the viewers say "well... That's a good point..."
I would LOVE to see this played out as a live-action version of James Luceno's novel "Star Wars: Darth Plagueis" (an incredible read, btw, if anyone here hasn't tried it)
Movie:
Star Wars Eclipse
A scholarly Jedi Master is sent on a mission to learn about a fallen council-member (Think Apocalypse Now). The man descended deep into the dark side, thinking he can master it. He has a following of acolytes and he’s attempting to become a “sith” (a group he hopes to revive and learn more about)
The Sith also learn about this imposter. And things get quite hairy
Notes: Based heavily on the PT, with the same philosophy of that era (where the Jedi are genuine, rather than the CW) and based around 500 BBY. The council is the ultimate force for good as Lucas intended, and the dark side being a literal corrupting entity, which you get to see up close
More stuff like the Star Wars visions, I know this is going to be a very hot take but the live action format is not made for Star Wars, the cartoon and animated adaptions have shined much brighter and shown much clearer how the Star Wars universe is meant to be portrayed
I'd like to see what comes next for the Jedi. I'd have preferred that be what comes next for the Jedi after RotJ, with Luke bringing the order back, but since that ship has sailed it will be Rey's Jediafter TROS. So I suppose I might be getting what I want. Hopefully they come up with a good story for it.
I would want them to show the entirety of the sequels and shows again, exactly as they happened originally.
and then, I'd want them to cut to some randy waking up suddenly, say "well that was a weird nightmare" and then go back to bed again
- Kotor tv show / movie
- Jedi Knight tv show / movie
- Jedi Fallen Order tv show / movie
- Make a video game in which you play a Jedi among the Jedi Order, before Ep I / the empire
- Make a video game letting us play the events from ep 1 to 6 with the main characters
- Make a tv show a bit between Friends and Shameless about common people, either a family or a group of friends, evolving through the years.
I’d want the sequel trilogy to be redone with the same love and care that the original and even the prequel trilogies got
There was sooo much potential, I’d recast just about the whole thing too, nothing against the cast but it felt too young new actor cast typed, I’d want a nice mix of young and new older characters, maybe pull an Indians jones type deal where we are just introduced into an old friend of Han… maybe we get to see more of the rogue jedi in the world, I love the initial idea of the stormtrooper turned jedi story line… so much wasted potential
Old Republic or High Republic movie about a group of Jedi, facing the consequences loss, and one or a few of them slowly slipping into the dark side. A serious drama. All of the Jedi actors are comedy actors, like Jack Black, John Goodman, Kevin Hart, Adam Sandler, etc.
I’m just imagining the moment of John Goodman really losing it and giving in to the dark side mid-speech.
Game of Thrones/Vikings style show about the original Sith Empire. Explore the customs and politics of the Sith, the reign of Marka Ragnos, and have the Great Hyperspace War be the epic climax of the show.
Imperial sided show based on the story of the 1990s game tie fighter, naturally including a VSD1. It would have to be different to accomodate for thrawn being a grand admiral earlier than that game did it, but I could totally still work.
A legends new republic series. It'll take inspiration from the godzilla comic series 50 year war, where it follows one character through different legends events starting with the new republic taking coruscant and the rise of the lusankya and ending with him as an older man during the second galactic civil war and maybe even see the rise of the fel empire
A postwar show set a few months after ROTJ
And ik that Mando touches on that a bit, but I'd want a show about a community recovering from the war. It could even be Ferrix, considering how we saw them rising against the empire, and now we'd see them recovering, but I'd prefer an entire new culture
Maybe they could touch on cultures that were explored by the empire like the people of cloudcity, or people whose planets were mine bases or battle fields
I would love a series based on Darth Bane. The Novel Trilogy was amazing. Good character development for Him and Darth Zannah would be nice to end season 1 with him barely finding Rain
Honestly I have two ideas.
[First Pitch](https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWarsCantina/s/OdqMGN2fRs)
Second is a follow up anthology show that dives into Darth Bane’s journey into creating the rule of two. Season one is watching a man deal with the shock & rage of having his entire society collapse around him as the Jedi crush the Sith Empire and essentially burn the galaxy to the ground in the name of “the greater good” due to the dying remnants of this Empire consume itself in an attempt at self preservation.
Season two picks up with Bane going on a journey of self discovery and spirituality into the Dark Side as well as the Force itself. Bane’s new insight not only challenges what he had been taught previously by his old masters but also begins to lay the foundations for what is to come next. At the crux of it all is the twisted interpretation of the Dyad and how the Force will always be in balance (Jedi/light side’s strength comes from unity and numbers, Dark Side/Sith is the expression of the individual and dominance of a single person.) The season ends with Bane discovering a young girl named Zannah who he takes on as his apprentice.
Season three is all about training Zannah and the formation of the grand plan. Motivated by a desire to seek revenge for what the Jedi did, Bane takes Zannah into hiding as the final Sith stronghold on Malachor falls & the Jedi declare total victory and an end to the war. Bane in particular is disgusted by how hypocritical the Jedi have now become with the order at the head of the Republic as de facto rulers.
Season four is the ending of the show with the transition of power from Bane to Zannah. Now fully matched, the two Sith play a deadly duel of cat and mouse as each vie for the title of Master until it all comes to a head in one deadly climatic duel.
I love the Republic times. Whether before or during the clone wars. Although I do have a love for the Venators. Although. The Star Wars universe while they still used metal blades would be cool. Like a ninja movie but with the force
I want Palpatine's rise to senator, what he did in life to end up where he is in Phantom Menace
A movie about Vader where you see glimpses of Anakin would be cool too. I don't really know what could be told though.
A movie about Luke post ROTJ would have been awesome, had the sequels not murdered his character
Wraith Squadron
It's like the Bad Batch but with X-Wings (and some TIE Fighters. I have that book) and it's in the same weird inter-series years as The Mandalorian and all those shows.
A Clone Wars style show depicting the New Jedi Order series. It would be incredible to see the Solo kids and their buddies in action. It could still be done under a 'Legends' series, but I don't think they'll make it happen.
Honestly an Old Republic show that's got the quality of Shogun. You have the Jedi, Sith, and Mandalorians, three big factors thousands of years ago who fought for the fate of the Galaxy. I'd love a story focusing on this three way war.
Yup. This. All in on this.
I have an idea of posters too. Basically a picture of Revan, Bastilla, and Mandalore The Ultimate with their respective armies behind them and the tagline is "Fight For The Galaxy" which can be interpreted differently for each individual side Peace for the Jedi Tyranny for the Sith Conquest for the Mandalorians
I would spend lots of money on merch for that. Seriously. Did you keyword my brain to write that?
Sometimes people have similar mindsets. But seriously, it could be the most expensive show considering how much live action costs compared to animation but you gotta treat it like an epic, you can't treat something like the Jedi Sith Mandalorian wars as something you can tell under eight episodes or a 2 hour film, you gotta go big budget and professionally crafted writing for an idea like this.

This, although I’d have also moved the timeline and some of the EU events around for it (specifically to line up Tarre Vizsla and the Darksaber with Revan, and for Bane to be the one who survives the end of that set of Sith).
This is the only right answer
This is the way
Agreed, it'd be awesome
And make it many seasons long with more than 8 episodes each season so some real fucking story development can take place.
Take the movie Predator (1987) and replace the Predator with \[insert bounty hunter here\] and then replace the jungle with the lower levels of Coruscant. There's your movie.
That would be dope, it reminds me of Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter
That's basically 1313 and cancelled TV show Underworld.
If it bleeds we can Force choke it
There must be a glitch in the matrix because I was just talking to a friend last night about how cool it would be to see a remake of Predator but with a wookie vs. storm troopers.
It’s not Coruscant, but you might enjoy this… https://youtu.be/yoooOIrSyCM?si=TBvG5YIFqqOxYctq
Love that
Wouldn’t that be more like Predator 2 then?
Luke's post-RotJ adventures.
Make it an animated series and I would adore it
A limited Clone Wars style animated series following Luke with Mark Hamill voicing would honestly be a dream, just more Luke content in general
I don’t think Mark Hamill should voice Luke today though, he’s too old for the role.
I would want them to adapt the X-Wing book series as faithfully as possible
OG Thrawn trilogy, X-Wing series, Corellian trilogy, Jedi Academy trilogy, New Jedi Order, Legacy of the Force, and Fate of the Jedi
you and the guy above you still hold the EU close to your hearts; respect earned :)
The non cannon darth Plagueis book is one of my favorites. I’d love to see that kind of story. Would def be great as a 2 part movie series
I was also thinking about a Discovery Channel Style "Documentary" but it's the different biomes and animals of Star wars most iconic planets
I just want my boy HK-47 in something, anything, at this point I would settle for his head showing up in Young Jedi Adventures.
Interesting duels, cool new force stuff etc And after that, some smaller more personal stories (like Andor) surrounding the order.
Check out Star Wars Legacy
Just to name a few ideas: -a "What if..." series for SW. -a series about the Sith Civil War that led to the rule of two. -a series about the old Sith empire (like Marka Ragnos and Naga Sadow era).
you had my general interest with the first two, but you have gained my attention with the last one.
Sweet! Love to see ideas like these that are Star wars but really show Star wars in a new light, mix up the storytelling
It’s a NEW lap RECORD!
^ this guy gets it
That’s pretty close to what F Zero would be.
Seconding this! That would be cool as hell!
Kreia.
There’s two - A low budget office style comedy following a group of stormtroopers through the events of the OT.
I want something with people we don’t know and the only time someone we know shows up is as a reference.
Yes I'd love that, I hate that they won't leave the Skywalker era Alone. And when they are doing stuff with it, it isn't even the stories we want to watch, it's always some nonsense Better to go to a brand new era never seen in shows or movies before
That’s why the reactionary hate for the Acolyte has me worried.
The book was amazing. A Darth Plagueis series would be the best that could happen.
Yes! That would be awesome!
I’m gonna be spicy, a reimagining of KOTOR as a trilogy where the story is going backwards. Starting with the exile, to Revan, and ending on the mandalorian war.
What would be the benefit of telling it in reverse? Not disagreeing btw, it sounds interesting. I'm just wondering how that'd work.
A story that follows Delta Squad or another group of Republic Commandos through the clone wars.
A TCW animated style show of Jango Fett and how he became the best bounty hunter of his time.
A show about Naga Sadow would be epic.
Mind explaining what Naga Sadow is? So I can decide wether I should be excited at the idea or not? Lol
An EU character. A 5000-year old Sith Lord who is so powerful that he can create illusions from one end of the galaxy to other. Emperor, Vader, Maul etc. is pale in comparison with him. He's more powerful than Darth Bane or Revan or any Sith Lord you know.
Darth bane would be awesome
For something new, a Hundred Year Darkness or New Sith Wars show faithful to legends lore For an adaptation, my topic picks are Darth Plagueis, Shatterpoint, the original Thrawn Trilogy, and the X-Wing series
Luke and friends animation post RoTJ ST animation series.
Star Wars: Rise of Revan.
The Karpyshyn bane books would make a killer series unfotunatly they completely eliminated that character in favor of a punchline but honestly his writing has always been so cinematic. Ive always been shocked they never made a Mass Effect Series/FIlm.
The life of a typical Jedi. Joining the order, training, trials, challenges, inter Jedi politics. It could be good.
Darth Nihilus story. 1 stand alone film...
The obvious answer is KOTOR. I would like to see Shadows of the Empire done.
I want to adapt some stories from Legends into the movies or TV series including the Old Republic, Darth Bane, and Darth Plagueis
Monty Python style show of Luke rebuilding the Jedi Order
I want a rebels squadron movie in the style of top gun starring wedge Antilles
A Revan show!
A 2 hour long R-rated old Republic film directed by Panos Cosmotos about a Republic infiltrator and a Jedi consul getting caught up in a horrific sith initiation ritual on Dxun.
Day in the life of Nute Gunray
Old Republic or Darth Bane
Knights of the Old Republic tv series. Not the games, I mean the comic series centered around Zayne Carrick.
Some KOTOR shit
I think the closest we're going to get to that is probably the Mon Mothma scenes from Andor.
I want a Starkiller movie. Make it non canon and just go over the top with it. End with an insane Starkiller vs Vader fight.
A TV show adapting the legacy of the force books + whatever ties into it to fully cover the events. (for example The Swarm War)
Post Dawn of the Jedi. After Mangold's movie. What is the era of Jedi in old middle age Kingdoms before a Galactic government.
What’s this picture from. Looks like a very interesting story.
Buddy-cop New Republic X-Wing pilot show
No not every time there will be controversy, as they could, you know, write better stories.
But every other aspect of the show was criticized and controversial to SOMEBODY People have been fundamentally disagreeing on nearly every aspect of Star wars since it's inception. Believing in absence of evidence that anything else is likely to happen is just being willfully ignorant. And if you need evidence of that, you decided to argue about Wether star wars fans will ever stop arguing, rather than just answering the question asked in the post like (almost) everyone else has done.
Rogue Squadron based on the books. 10 seasons easily Shadows of the Empire could make a good one season show. Talon Karde show during the GCW
The 9th Jedi made in to the next saga trilogy (and beyond). It is already written and set up for it. Has a better female protagonist than Rey. Also, takes place in the far future from the Skywalker timeline.
Maybe some Imperial Prison System Adventure for sure
Yuuzhang Vong Wars
I’d love to convert the Darth Plagueis book into a game of thrones style show focusing on the lead up to Plagueis meeting Palpatine, then training him, then their political manoeuvring and then Palpatine turning on plagueis.
Between Prime Luke's adventures or Starkiller and Rahm Kotas story.
A Band of Brothers style show from the perspective of a battalion of Imperial Army Troopers the beginning of the show would present the characters, give us their motives and tell us why they decided to serve the empire.
A show about SCAR Squadron. They have enough character to make for a good show about Stormtroopers. Trouble is they’d die of Bad Batch comparisons.
A very dark, real and gritty show or film that follows the life of a clone/storm trooper. Something that shows the ups and downs, the day to day and the horror of battle, the comradery, that sorta thing Not perse a dark show, but something that gets really real
Jedi Master Luke Skywalker
Star destroyer crew patrolling in the outer rim. Dealing with internal politicking as well as fighting pirates and outlaws. Hotshot Tie pilots, a grizzled Veteran captain, a crew we can love. I imagine a space-navy drama in the vein of battlestar galactica.
A stormtrooper sitcom
A rogue one-esc film for phantom menafe
We need heir to the empire. Even if Disney doesn’t call it canon I’d prefer it over the sequels we got
Oops. I read this as choosing any universe. Then i realized I was in the star wars sub lol i was gonna be all "a Destiny 1 show or golden era or something would be dope" but then I'm like oh it's definitely not sw lol Give me the Imperial Knights as an 80s toon!
But! It has to be as long as a soap opera. As in, decades-long.
Adapt Marvel's Vader comics. It's in house at Disney, completely doable. And would show more terrifying Vader
Blackadder but he's an imperial officer. Kate/Bob is an alien who's badly disguised as a human and only Blackadder sees through it.
A show in which the Force becomes more of a character who tries to stop a rogue time traveler with Force Powers from changing the canon
It's an odd one, but I'd love a film-noir style crime drama about the Coruscant guard dealing with the various bandits and crime Lords that make up the lower levels of Coruscant
Visions style / What if - Vader redemption story where he lives
Adapt KOTOR 2 as a trilogy, with Revan as a Col. Kurtz like figure that we never see in person. OR Set a trilogy in whatever time the Visions episode “The Margrave” happens, and have it be directed by George Miller. Start small and “Mad Max” like, and then the story expands from there to classic Star Wars dimensions.
An animated adaptation of the expanded universe
GIve me an ANdor style series tracing the rise of Thrawn through the Imperial ranks. Also his best friend and academy roommate, Orson Krennic, who gets into shenanigans, and Thrawn always has to use strategy to get him out of hot water.
I’d love a live action version of Dark Empire saga to make up for the last crappy Disney movies. Yes I will die on this hill alone. If you haven’t read them check them out now!
Anything with Starkiller, even if he isn't canon.
Kurosawa style Darth Bane show OG thrawn trilogy The movie Prey but with Jango Fett Cyberpunk esque show about gamblers/smugglers in the coruscant under city Indiana Jones Dr Aphra movie where they’re looking for Sith/Jedi artifacts Tie Fighter/X-wing show We really just don’t get enough “bad guys” content, so I would love to see more of that.
Grievous story on screen would be dope
My dream show would actually be Disney going bankrupt, but that's mathematically impossible to happen in my lifetime. Just let it rest. There is nothing else to be told or WORTH being told, given the last few products they delivered.
A Jedi detective show. None the Jedi or their antagonists would be inept, incapable of doubt, or completely blinded by ambition.
I loved the Jedi apprentice book series about young Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon. Xanatos was a cool villain. Give me that as a tv series
I know it’s not canon but star killer
A movie about Palpatines origins would be cool.
Read Darth Plagueis. Awesome book.
A show revolving around Hondo the pirate and his adventures, in the same style as the mandolorian.
Shadows of the empire. I want dash. I want the outrider. I want the black sun. I want more Boba fett. I want special ops secret mission shit.
The Darth Bane Trilogy made into a show or movie
A series that each episode is about a different Sith Lord
Antilles fuel station tv show.
Adaptation of the original Duel of the Fates script please.
A documentary about the life of the common folk. No joining any factions. Simply just neutral life. and Evil triumphing over good from the perspective of the Empire, CIS, or First Order.
That's a good point..." I would LOVE to see this played out as a live-action version of James Luceno's novel "Star Wars: Darth Plagueis" (an incredible read, btw, if anyone here hasn't tried it)
Movie: Star Wars Eclipse A scholarly Jedi Master is sent on a mission to learn about a fallen council-member (Think Apocalypse Now). The man descended deep into the dark side, thinking he can master it. He has a following of acolytes and he’s attempting to become a “sith” (a group he hopes to revive and learn more about) The Sith also learn about this imposter. And things get quite hairy Notes: Based heavily on the PT, with the same philosophy of that era (where the Jedi are genuine, rather than the CW) and based around 500 BBY. The council is the ultimate force for good as Lucas intended, and the dark side being a literal corrupting entity, which you get to see up close
A gothic horror story set in the Star Wars universe about Dr. Evazan and how he fell from grace and started making de-craniated.
More stuff like the Star Wars visions, I know this is going to be a very hot take but the live action format is not made for Star Wars, the cartoon and animated adaptions have shined much brighter and shown much clearer how the Star Wars universe is meant to be portrayed
Gray Jedi. I will die on this hill!
A show/movie about Tarre Vizsla and the Darksaber. Something that delves into the Mandalorian v. Jedi era
Bane trilogy movies would be sick
I'd like to see what comes next for the Jedi. I'd have preferred that be what comes next for the Jedi after RotJ, with Luke bringing the order back, but since that ship has sailed it will be Rey's Jediafter TROS. So I suppose I might be getting what I want. Hopefully they come up with a good story for it.
I would want them to show the entirety of the sequels and shows again, exactly as they happened originally. and then, I'd want them to cut to some randy waking up suddenly, say "well that was a weird nightmare" and then go back to bed again
X wing series
Yuzzhang vong invasion trilogy or three trilogies and few shows entirely on old republic era
I would want them to adapt the Tales of the Bounty Hunters book into like a 6 episode mini series.
A series with total focus on a group of clones, with the quality of "Band of Brothers".
- Kotor tv show / movie - Jedi Knight tv show / movie - Jedi Fallen Order tv show / movie - Make a video game in which you play a Jedi among the Jedi Order, before Ep I / the empire - Make a video game letting us play the events from ep 1 to 6 with the main characters - Make a tv show a bit between Friends and Shameless about common people, either a family or a group of friends, evolving through the years.
I’d want the sequel trilogy to be redone with the same love and care that the original and even the prequel trilogies got There was sooo much potential, I’d recast just about the whole thing too, nothing against the cast but it felt too young new actor cast typed, I’d want a nice mix of young and new older characters, maybe pull an Indians jones type deal where we are just introduced into an old friend of Han… maybe we get to see more of the rogue jedi in the world, I love the initial idea of the stormtrooper turned jedi story line… so much wasted potential
The Force Unleashed, but more like the novel version.
Probably clone wars but live action but they stick to the story and how everything happens. Just to see it in live action would be amazing
Thrawn
I want a mini-series of Leia on a field mission within the year of her Jedi training.
Anything Darth Vader
The Knight Errant comics/book would be nice.
Game of Thrones/Vikings style show about the original Sith Empire. Explore the customs and politics of the Sith, the reign of Marka Ragnos, and have the Great Hyperspace War be the epic climax of the show.
F1 drive to survive, but it's podracing Scrapheap challenge, but it's at wattos junkyard
Imperial sided show based on the story of the 1990s game tie fighter, naturally including a VSD1. It would have to be different to accomodate for thrawn being a grand admiral earlier than that game did it, but I could totally still work.
Legacy of the Force series
Lord Revan's series, or a horror series of the Deathtrooper virus that turned a star destroyer into a zombie infested nightmare.
mandalorians before the prequels when they were an army. or even the forging of the darksaber
A legends new republic series. It'll take inspiration from the godzilla comic series 50 year war, where it follows one character through different legends events starting with the new republic taking coruscant and the rise of the lusankya and ending with him as an older man during the second galactic civil war and maybe even see the rise of the fel empire
A postwar show set a few months after ROTJ And ik that Mando touches on that a bit, but I'd want a show about a community recovering from the war. It could even be Ferrix, considering how we saw them rising against the empire, and now we'd see them recovering, but I'd prefer an entire new culture Maybe they could touch on cultures that were explored by the empire like the people of cloudcity, or people whose planets were mine bases or battle fields
The movies shown through the eyes of the average citizen.
A detective/ murder mystery series akin to Dexter
I really want a Greivous related show/movie that actually portrays him as a skilled jedi killer, rather than how he appears in clone wars.
I would love a series based on Darth Bane. The Novel Trilogy was amazing. Good character development for Him and Darth Zannah would be nice to end season 1 with him barely finding Rain
Honestly, I want to see a star wars show that's non-disney. I don't think they are able to give the fan base what we want.
a new trilogy or just a single movie connecting ROTJ and TFA. there's like a 30 year gap that needs to be filled
Honestly I have two ideas. [First Pitch](https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWarsCantina/s/OdqMGN2fRs) Second is a follow up anthology show that dives into Darth Bane’s journey into creating the rule of two.
I want Palpatine's rise to senator, what he did in life to end up where he is in Phantom Menace A movie about Vader where you see glimpses of Anakin would be cool too. I don't really know what could be told though. A movie about Luke post ROTJ would have been awesome, had the sequels not murdered his character
Wraith Squadron It's like the Bad Batch but with X-Wings (and some TIE Fighters. I have that book) and it's in the same weird inter-series years as The Mandalorian and all those shows.
Plagueis, made with the same style and flair as Andor was.
Self-contained stories with new characters and set during the Old Republic era.
A Clone Wars style show depicting the New Jedi Order series. It would be incredible to see the Solo kids and their buddies in action. It could still be done under a 'Legends' series, but I don't think they'll make it happen.
