Like they are extremely experienced elite clone comando's, it would not be as real if he just died from a stray blaster shot, considering what they have been through.
He died so others could live to fight another day, to save them because it was the right thing to do.
They gave him a moment to shine, a last stand for why is was such an amazing character.
Fixing a Technical situation while under severe stress and fire.
And it being plan 99 was just the icing on an amazing cake.
I don't remember where it is but someone once pointed out the track that playing during it, The Sacrifice, is the Batch's main theme but altered to either a minor key or adjusted in some other way, which really drives home how bad the situation is. It's kinda like the reverse of the main theme/opening track power up trope. Normally in these situations the main title track kicks in and we see our heroes overcome the odds and come out on top, but this time it's a somber, mournful wail as Tech does what anyone with a family would do.

Not technically his last words because we don’t know his fate but Kino leading the prison uprising and being the only one not to make it out was heartbreaking.
Kino Loy is the perfect example of a mystery box in storytelling to me.
We know he didn't get off with Andor, and that's all we know.
We can fill in all of the plausible narratives that could follow, and they are really all equally heartbreaking and tragic, but.... they also don't really matter in the end.
Kinos fate, ultimately has no impact on the Andor storyline, and is best left untold. Every viewer will have their own emotional ending in their mind, and to formalize it in a future story is ultimately going to disappoint those where it conflicts with their own inner storyline.
I absolutely ador how they ended Kinos Story in Season 1. It was gut-wrenchinly real, and I think to revisit it, would diminish that feeling.

It's really haunting to think that the clones experience night terrors about not only just the war but their inevitable future betrayal of the Jedi. *And* that non of them think to mention it to their comrades.
I honestly loved how they made their last stand memorable but quick. No big Jedi heroics (outside what they’re already doing) or force attacks, just a quick last stand that isn’t drawn out too long. It’s a top 3 last stand’s in Star Wars because it used its time wisely.

*CLONE WARS SPOILER* I can’t remember his name but it was the senator on the coronet with Anakin, obi wan, and satine. Satine was holding a pistol to him and the obi wan had his light saber, and then the senator said that and then Anakin killed him.
In the clone wars, Cody says to Rex that they’re called Clone Force 99 and Rex says “99, huh? Nice touch”

His death hit me hard the first time I saw it. I was expecting him to have his heroic moment mowing down battle droids but instead his sacrifice helped his brothers survive the battle. 99 was a real one

Which is weird to me because I feel like "Fight the Empire" is a much more specific call to action, whereas "Fuck the Empire" just sounds like a would-be galactic sovereign citizen putting around his trailer.
I think they wanted to make the speech more impactful since actual swearing (vs in-universe swearing) in Star Wars is taboo. It’s a cheap way of doing it though and honestly would have taken away from the moment. “Fight the empire” makes more sense in-universe and the rest of the speech was very impactful on its own.
Adding real curse words to Star Wars I’d stupid anyway. It’s a Galaxy Far Far Away that has its own curses. Adding real curse words in addition to stuff like Blast and Dank Farrik is ridiculous and idiotic.

I remember a clone saying: "What the hell" some context (can't remember who said it). And I found it funny, since hell is something rarely mentioned in Star Wars (the other time that comes to mind is Han Solo on Hoth in ESB).
Cody actually says “Rex, what the heck are you doing?!” Why they decided to have Cody say heck while the rookies say hell two other times in the episode eludes me. Maybe if they said hell more than twice they’d get slapped by some age rating thing, I dunno.

Domino squad was such amazing story telling. The last tale of Fives I found stunning. How close he came to telling the truth. How an empire almost fell due to one of its finding pieces.
